Hilda Posted May 4, 2008 at 06:31 PM Posted May 4, 2008 at 06:31 PM yeh there was looaaads of middle aged couples type people there but im glad we ddint have some of the 'sit down' horror stories alot of you are reporting! Sounds awful!! but people were standing up by us in block f and LOADS in block A.I was in Block B on Saturday night and I thought there was going to be a fist fight! Seriously! People, just calm down, its not a Guns N' Roses concert lol. There were these two girls in the 2nd row who insisted on remaining stood up for the whole concert. Fair enough, stand up if you feel like dancing, but not the whole time especially if someone has asked you to sit down because they can't see. Its just polite. Next thing I could see everyone around these 2 girls getting more wound up because they just wouldn't sit down (being very rude about it all) and I thought there was going to be bloodshed. Couldn't believe that they actually started pushing and poking each other!! Anyway.... in the end they were warned by the MEN staff and then shortly after they disappeared - not sure if they were kicked out or they decided to go, I was too busy watching Celine at that point. How annoying! Luckily everyone was OK in Block 107 so I was fine, but I felt too nervous to sing along in frnot of all the middle aged couples!! I wanted to jump up and down and sing out loud but I just couldn't!! I still had an amzing time though nevertheless! HAha i wa slike that too i wasnt standing up for alot of it but i was as high as u can sit ina chair!! hahah clapping above my head! haha. we were all up for queen, river deep, love can move mountains etc. Quote

fred Posted May 4, 2008 at 06:35 PM Posted May 4, 2008 at 06:35 PM and the i spose would be the "front" of the arena...........as appose to my seats....at the back!! its abit agrivating. i think the round stage is pants,,,,why not always be facing the front on a normal stage??Well one big reason for having it in the round is because they can get more people in by doin so. And more people = more tickets = more money. The second reason is that when having the stage in the center of the stadium that will add to a more intimate atmosphere, having statistically more seats "closer" to the stage. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Hilda Posted May 4, 2008 at 06:35 PM Posted May 4, 2008 at 06:35 PM (edited) i bought 2 tickets for the O2 in london, and i accepted the first tickets i was offered as i didnt want to run the risk of gettin worse ones. i got block 115, which would normally be the back of the stage..... is she fair to the WHOLE arena, or does the "normal front" get more?? row F cant be too bad, i got them for my dad for xmas, and he cried lol........and i thought, sh*t, he will be cryin if we can only see her back all night...woops.... my dads 45, and if he thinks hes sittin there all night like its an opera show, he can get stuffed. ill stand on my chair and swing my trousers over my head if i have to get my section off there asses. I think where ever yr sitting u will see her really well, i think if your on the tiered bits on either side...the stage comes soooo far into the crowed that i think thats the closest people too her when shes on the podiums! ridiculously close. and i reckon if your not sitting on the floor its better because you dont get to see the stage at all lighting up etc. but obviously its still close. I was in block F and felt that she was over our side of the stage more to be honest...we got her on her knees for my love....on the piano etc... but it wasnt too bad. Ok then I'll let you off! I've only just got back from manchester after going both nights. I too had grief about standing up! I must admit tho' that on Friday night 2 girls in the front row (I was second row) were a total embarassment. It got really nasty at one point and I thought there was going to be a fight. They were drunk, talking all the time, even spilling their drinks over the floor so an attendant had to come and mop up. They weren't content with just standing and dancing infront of their own seats but veering infront of the people next to them who were sitting down and blocking their view. The stewards had to intervene at one point. They were 'howling' along to the songs and had the audacity to turn around and ask me if I liked their voices! I can't understand why anyone would pay that sort of money for a ticket, get a front row seat, then get so smashed they probably wouldn't be able to remember it!Nevertheless, I had a wonderful time both nights and I'm still on a high. Last night RC and the family sat about 4 rows behind me. I thought I was seeing things when just before the show started security removed the barrier at the front and they all walked past to their seats. cagney Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:24 PM Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:24 PM Hi guys, Just like to share this with you all. Went to see Celine in concert at the Manchester Arena here in the UK and she was absolutely fantastic. The venue was completely sold out. Celine hasn't been in the UK for some years now, but it was well worth the wait. She truely delivered a spectacular show. It was worth the money for the tickets and we had front row viewing. So all I can say is that if you are all lucky to go and see her, you will be as thrilled as we were. Rock on Celine, you did us proud. Quote

Annalicious Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:41 PM Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:41 PM So I'm curious to hear from people who had seats similar to what I got for the NY and Montreal dates.... I'm going to 3 shows and have 13th row center, 8th row to the side, and 1st row to the side all on the floor. If you had similar seats, how was your view? How much time did she dedicate to each side? WendyB Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:41 PM Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:41 PM Ermm, well I guess I'm middle-aged. I'm definitely married, but BORING?! No way, so stop generalising. I didn't go to Manchester but I shall be in Birmingham (STANDING and DANCING, in a middle-aged kind of way!). Plus it says on my tickets "People around you may stand!". Well, I'll be one of them I've said it before but it's worth repeating - a big thank you for all the reviews, pictures and videos Can't wait for May 10th Believe me, our middle-aged Wendy will rock the house in Birmingham, many of you youngsters can learn a lesson from her! I do agree that everyone should be allowed to sing and dance, but there are songs that ask for silence and sitting down, like My Love. I would be very upset if someone keeps standing in front of me or keeps talking during this song. And let's keep in mind that there are people that are not able to stand all night (one of my friends for example, she had a terrible car-accident and she can't stand for more than 5 minutes). Those people do have a right to ask others to sit down, because otherwise they are not able to see the show. But apart from that, I would say: live and let live. I think Céline enjoys a dancing stadium much more than a boring stadium with people sitting down like they are watching a classical concert. My policy is simple: stand during up-tempo songs and sit during ballads. I'm in 100% agreement with both of these statements. My middle-aged legs will need a rest anyway Quote

Celine = AMAZING!! Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:56 PM Posted May 4, 2008 at 08:56 PM (edited) Hey everyone! Im new to this forum, but have loved Celine for soooo many years now, im 20, so I think over 10yrs now not sure on the exact amount of years, we watched the tv showing of some of Celine's Vegas show on the BBC, just after my mum and sister suprised me with tickets for the Saturday show at the M.E.N. so to say we were excited is an understatement, as I really wanted to go to vegas to see Celine, for my 21st, but we just missed her, as were going this June for my birthday, but last night OMG!! absolutely incredible, just amazing, i loved every single second, the show went by sooooo fast, I couldnt believe it, just phenominal!! Just an incredible show, me and my mum kept saying to have seen that in vegas (obviously a scaled up version lol) could you imagine, because that was the best show weve ever seen, and my mum has seen all the greats - freddie mercury, elton john, michael bolton, rod stewart, and my favourite singer is Kelly Clarkson, who I love she is amazing, there concerts are comepletely different! but even I a hardcore Kelly fan (seen her 7 times in the UK and met her twice - she is just incredible), Kelly has an incredible voice, Celine's show last night was brilliant, ive never seen anything like it, Celine's voice is just incredible, I couldnt believe I was watching her in concert, we were block 103, so she was v v close when she was on the branched out part near us. im listening now to Celine, and I cant believe ive seen her in concert ekkkkkk!! . Thank you to all your pictures and video's everything- everyone, I got audio for the whole show except 'My Heart Will Go On' as by camera cut out - grrrr, so thank you to ShuttleDiscovery for posting the link to your youtube vids so i can listen to 'My Heart Will Go On' again, ill happily post my audio for you all, when my uni finals are finished in a few weeks, as a thank you for everyone else's media. I had just a fantastic evening, Celine was incredible, I mean I know how amazing her voice is lol, but to hear her live, there were so many times I just said wow, or flipping heck when she hit an incredible note, I was just in awe of her, i loved all the outfits, all the dancing and the stage was soooo cool. Im so proud to call myself a Celine Dion fan, even more so than before lol. I just wish I could see her again in concert. I hope she comes back v v soon!! ETA: I hope my level of excitement is coming across, lol. My mum noticed Rene in the audience, that was awesome!! What did your banner say? I could make it out, please.
