Stations That Are Playing Taking Chances

When big artists release a new album, it seems that radio stations always play some of that artist's older songs as to prepare for the new material... Not sure if it's something that record companies push for or not...

Was purposely listening to Radio 2 to hear "Taking Chances" too!!!

I just heard "Taking Chances" for the first time on KMXZ FM in Tucson, Arizona, on October 9. The DJ said it was a new song for Celine, and I called him when I got home and said how glad I was to hear it on the radio! Edited October 11, 2007 at 01:18 AM by lynaz

Very strangely "A New Day Has Come" was played twice on Radio 2 in the UK today but I didn't hear "Taking Chances" at all.

 

This happened to me too. Sort of. My story is I called my radio station to request "Taking Chances" and was told it'd be a while before they played it because they just played "That's The Way It Is."

I feel ya don't ya HATE it when a new song of Celine's comes out and radio stations choose her older songs to play instead, especially when you are purposely waiting for Taking Chances? It's happened to me quite a bit, I don't get it.

 

We also need to make requests to syndicated radio shows because remember, one spin from a radio show equals much more, because it is played all across the U.S. on hundreds of stations at once. So email John Tesh and Delilah, there email addresses are below.

Sarah Kennedy (BBC Radio 2) played it this morning but she cut the end off with a comment about "young girls groaning". She didn't even say what the song was called or who was singing it! Airplay is airplay, I suppose.

I was just on amazon and I looked up new release for music and I was happy to see they put Celine's album first on the list for November 13th!!

Maybe this would be a good time to bombard Z100 again. What do you think? At least now we can say that other top 40 stations are playing it so it must be good and fans must be liking it. Maybe they'll consider it.

 

But even if they don't, the fact that she is still being added to radio stations (especially top 40 ones) is a great sign, and can only help her chart position.

I thought you'd like to know that Celine's TC is now at the top 10 hottest songs played on three AC stations here on Long Island and NY (including 1067)! It's catching on, and as I mentioned on another post, I've been hearing it on average about 3 times a day, when last week and the week before, maybe once.

 

PLEASE post on here if you hear the song and on what station, so we can email them and ask them to keep the song going!

Celine remains on the B List at BBC Radio 2 for week commencing 20th October. Hopefully by the time she's in the country on the 27th and the single is released on the 29th she's promoted to the A List.

Yeah they do. Usually when a major station like Z100 adds something, other pop stations follow their lead. Depending on how many times they put the song in rotation for, this could turn out to be the very best thing that could have happened to Taking Chances.
