I wonder if she is 12 herself. Other than that I thought this movie was pretty bad sorry. No French-Canadian accents, no look-a-likes,no French speech or songs except for one. They have the order of events in the wrongyears and things didn't happen a certain way in her real story as is played out in the movie. The could have used somebody who can sing in a higher range and do Celine's mannerisms and body language.I have seen excellent impersonators who can even speak like her and have everything down. I hate it when movies get made after somebody living or dead and they screw it up badly.Celine's dad is not fat and her mom isn't skinny. Celine didn't have her teeth fixeduntil she took that 2 year break. Gosh the scenes just skipped ahead through yearsof her life in like 3 minutes confusing the crap out of newer Celine fans who don't know allabout her life story. Again, I give credit to the young girl playing Celine even though she looks nothing like her.She's very talented. My rating a D or 4 out of 10. I said to her while about to cry from the hug, "I love you so much!" Then that was it I don't think she said a word to me. I was crying and saying omg all night with my heart racing and my mind in SHOCK from the unexpected hug and my eyes so sore from crying. I was ready to drop when I got home, but was so emotional I stayed up until 6:30 a.m.! Cried a little for a few days after. Sign and front row seat saved the day!Dream #3 accomplished... How hard would it have been to get the facts straight? To have events occur in the time frame that they actually happened - in the order they happened? I suppose it had to be in English, but the only actor that had an accent was the one who played Eddy Marnay! Not one mention of René’s cancer and it's profound effect on not only their relationship, but her career & their having RC - their entire focus was on his heart attack! The actor portraying her dad (whom she calls Papa, not Dad) was totally not the right body type… They did not portray the loving Dion family as Céline has always described it - her sisters loved her and would never tell her that her dreams were impossible, they always believed in her. And her mom (whom she called Maman, not Mom) would never tell her she wasn't pretty! Only one French song in the entire movie?! I realize it was a two hour movie with commercials, but they left important things out, and then shoved everything that happened over the last twenty years into the last ten minutes!! And she is too young to have a movie made about her life already. Yes, she has accomplished a lot, but she isn't done yet! The only part I actually liked is how they showed Michel's role in her career. (and the actor playing him actual resembled him a little.) And the little girl wasn't a bad singer... the older Céline, I needed the mute button. I just don't understand why they couldn't be specific... for example... Céline kisses René after Eurovision, René runs off, calls her room from downstairs, says, "I'll be the first if you want." She replies, "You'll be the first and the only." Instead they made it all cheesy, "René, I'm 20 - that's old enough, isn't it?" Why'd they do that? Sorry, I’ll stop now - it’s just we’ve all heard this story so many times (the correct version), that it almost feels like we were there too - and that was just bad. I understand more than ever why René and Céline didn’t want to be involved with the project. Mark my words, when I become a movie director - I will create a movie that is accurate, with actors that actually can act like and resemble those involved - and Céline’s actual recordings will be used. There is no essence of her personality, only a wooden shell. And how could they not include her relationship with her niece? Pretty bad all the way around, although I do agree that the little girl who portrayed her as a child did a very nice job considering the lousy script. Celine's website does not even mention this movie, which indicates to me that they did not approve of this bio. Quote

They'd have been better off casting that impersonator from youtube. Buuuuuuuut needless to say it will be interesting and... interesting. I'd love to hear Céline's thoughts on it, being unauthorized and all that jazz, and just how accurate the film is. But still, JUST. SO. WEIRD. Quote
