What I really don't understand is why everybody thinks Britney is more hip and better than Celine. Oh.. my...god... They write "barf" next to Celine but they treat Britney like she's someone worthy of respect in the business. Can you tell I don't like her? LOL

 

Basically the interviewers are largely to be blamed for this, it's true, but Ne-Yo mentioning the money he would get wasn't necessary, he could have said some nice words about her, defended her but he didn't, he was only looking after his own #ss, mentioning the money (we all work to get the money but he didn't have to mention it, it's not really courteous), wanting to sound like that's the only reason he's working with her. Which he may or may not. He was trying to save his reputation. Well, it just got worse among Celine fans.

 

I wonder what would Rene think of this.

It doesn't seem THAT rude to me... BUT Ne-Yo could have answered something like "Just wait to hear Celine's tracks, you might be surprised" to stop the stupid comments made by the DJs and getting people curious about their collaboration. But he's a newcomer and needs some media training... He did miss the boat. Let's hope he will make up for it in the upcoming months or before the release of the album!

yea i agree with alot of what you say and i think Ne-yo was trying to to distance himself from Celine when it suits him, in this case (she's not "cool" enough ) and this is what pisses me off. he's a back-stabber because while he's taking her millions, he's dissing her behind her back. and he probably thinks that Celine fans would never hear this interview anyway so he showed his true colors. we must make our voices be heard , he thinks Celine fans are just oldies who dont listen to pop radio so he felt at liberty to say anything he wanted about Celine. Interpretation of this interview, as we can all see, really varies.

 

All I can say is... If I can write for Celine, I'd sleep well TOO!

Celine doesn't need to change herself---it came across as cheesy during the 1F&4T era, and she went back to the way she is. She just needs to stay true to who she is--but updated.

i don't think that anything came across as "cheesy"maybe thats your opinion but not mine. in fact i liked the change of pace with OH and (are u crazy) 1F4T was an amazing album and anything but cheesy

1F&4t was a superb album. Did I say it wasn't? I happened to like her really short blonde hair--but not the persona that she created to go along with it. It was random. It wasn't Celine. Yes, it's my opinion.

And even with One Heart, she confused the public because she began surprising everyone in the radios with IDAN, then One Heart, great, but after that? She came and released the crapy HYEBIL as a single, which didn't have anything to do in radios So she changed "for two singles" her ballad singer profile, but then she ruined the album with that song and came back to her most boring and embarrasing profile of ballad singer ever

So the she should act more often in those decissions and chose her own singles or ask to the fans, and not let her label to do wathever they want with her music...

 

I didn't know Aretha covered HYEBIL, but then that's perfect for her, that song fits with that woman, but not with a young singer of 35 years old (in 2003) that has an increasing public of young fans. I mean its OK that Céline sings songs like HYEBIL from time to time, but not to select them for single

With the hectic tour schedule, everybody including Ne-Yo still manages to do their day jobs. He recorded a song for Celine Dion and we completed a remix for his artist, Paula Campbell, for the song "Ain't Nobody Stupid" - written by Ne-Yo of course. The remix will sample the old hip hop classic "PSK" by Schooly D. The song is tested at the end of every show and the crowd is feeling it!
