Celcool Posted June 5, 2007 at 06:59 AM Posted June 5, 2007 at 06:59 AM What I really don't understand is why everybody thinks Britney is more hip and better than Celine. Oh.. my...god... They write "barf" next to Celine but they treat Britney like she's someone worthy of respect in the business. Can you tell I don't like her? LOL Basically the interviewers are largely to be blamed for this, it's true, but Ne-Yo mentioning the money he would get wasn't necessary, he could have said some nice words about her, defended her but he didn't, he was only looking after his own #ss, mentioning the money (we all work to get the money but he didn't have to mention it, it's not really courteous), wanting to sound like that's the only reason he's working with her. Which he may or may not. He was trying to save his reputation. Well, it just got worse among Celine fans. I wonder what would Rene think of this. Quote

Bullet Posted June 5, 2007 at 12:14 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 12:14 PM It doesn't seem THAT rude to me... BUT Ne-Yo could have answered something like "Just wait to hear Celine's tracks, you might be surprised" to stop the stupid comments made by the DJs and getting people curious about their collaboration. But he's a newcomer and needs some media training... He did miss the boat. Let's hope he will make up for it in the upcoming months or before the release of the album! Quote
Javito Posted June 5, 2007 at 12:31 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 12:31 PM (edited) Seriously, and do you really think that the fuc*** official site cares about that? They don't care about anything, they only work for the official site and have nothing to do with Céline's recording process (unfortunately ). I wish Céline had a myspace web (like Annie Lennox and Dido) or something to send her personally messages, then SHE herself could read what fans are talking about and what worries them, but she doesn't even know how to switch on the computer Regarding Ne-Yo, well I don't think he talked seriously, just joking with the reporter. But yes, its NOT a funny joke Edited June 5, 2007 at 12:31 PM by Gonzalillo Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
shasti Posted June 5, 2007 at 12:57 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 12:57 PM (edited) i think celine has been the butt of jokes... and many a time enough. But i dont think she is the kind of person tt takes notice... but continues doing what she wants to and what she does best.... and she's still shining.... coomon more albums than maroon5... tt smthg so i think some ppl here gotta take a lesson or 2 from the women u love soo much.... and i'm saying this in the nicest way possible... shasti NB: Looking back in history, even the best of us got persecuted. it dont mean u aint what u are. But yes, its NOT a funny joke yea i agree with alot of what you say and i think Ne-yo was trying to to distance himself from Celine when it suits him, in this case (she's not "cool" enough ) and this is what pisses me off. he's a back-stabber because while he's taking her millions, he's dissing her behind her back. and he probably thinks that Celine fans would never hear this interview anyway so he showed his true colors. we must make our voices be heard , he thinks Celine fans are just oldies who dont listen to pop radio so he felt at liberty to say anything he wanted about Celine. C'mon we need to start a petition so the next time he can give Celine props instead of poops and give her some street cred. Edited June 5, 2007 at 04:10 PM by brasilero Quote

And I'm tired of hearing that opinion, very generalized in the public and absolutely false But that's because of Céline's fault in part, because she has aaaaaalways promoted an image of her as a ballad singer and not a pop/rock/dance singer . celinesounds Posted June 5, 2007 at 08:56 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 08:56 PM Obviously, most Celine fans put Celine on a pedestal. Interpretation of this interview, as we can all see, really varies. All I can say is... If I can write for Celine, I'd sleep well TOO! Now, if you watch this video... this is from a little ago (I'm sure it's already been posted here), you will see what Ne-Yo thinks of his upcoming project with Celine:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApD3O9ZnDRE P.S. I think all of you who sent your letters to Sony Music and Rene - you ought to send your letters also to the various media outlets - Maybe you can create a media frenzy!!! that Interview was good, thanks Quote #FREEJAVITO

I didn't got angry with you , I got angry because its true what you say, its true that that's the generalized opinion in the people out there about Céline fans and her public, and I don't agree with that And even with One Heart, she confused the public because she began surprising everyone in the radios with IDAN, then One Heart, great, but after that? She came and released the crapy HYEBIL as a single, which didn't have anything to do in radios So she changed "for two singles" her ballad singer profile, but then she ruined the album with that song and came back to her most boring and embarrasing profile of ballad singer ever Edited June 6, 2007 at 09:11 AM by Gonzalillo Quote "Hush, now... I didn't know Aretha covered HYEBIL, but then that's perfect for her, that song fits with that woman, but not with a young singer of 35 years old (in 2003) that has an increasing public of young fans. I mean its OK that Céline sings songs like HYEBIL from time to time, but not to select them for single Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Célinefull Posted June 8, 2007 at 11:26 AM Posted June 8, 2007 at 11:26 AM People shouldn't hold what ne-yo said in this interview against him - Australian media LOVE to crap all over Céline and this radio station is a really "please listen to us we're hip" kind of situation. @Seb: Are you kidding me thinking that was British? Ronny83 Posted June 18, 2007 at 05:22 PM Posted June 18, 2007 at 05:22 PM Ne-Yo has finally recorded a song for Celine. With the hectic tour schedule, everybody including Ne-Yo still manages to do their day jobs. He recorded a song for Celine Dion and we completed a remix for his artist, Paula Campbell, for the song "Ain't Nobody Stupid" - written by Ne-Yo of course. The remix will sample the old hip hop classic "PSK" by Schooly D. The song is tested at the end of every show and the crowd is feeling it!http://www.vibe.com/news/news_headlines/20...ars_tour_diary/ Quote The Celine Dion Italian fanbase - CelineDionItalia.com
