Celine on Ennio Morricone tribute album

I hope Celine and him will be on a song together. Wow! One of the world greatest cellist with Celine's voice. That could be great.

Céline will be at this year's Academy Awards

 

There is a confirmation of what was already said in the Romanian article on the for "We All Love Ennio Morricone"

 

Ennio Morricone hat viele der besten und ergreifendsten Film-Soundtracks aller Zeiten komponiert. Fünf Mal wurde er für einen Oscar nominiert, jetzt aber wird er am 25. Februar 2006 diese höchste aller Auszeichnungen für sein Lebenswerk erhalten, und niemand Geringers als Robert de Niro und Clint Eastwood werden ihm die begehrte Oscarstatue während der live in alle Welt übertragenen Award-Zeremonie in Los Angeles überreichen. Als Höhepunkt der Preisverleihung wird Celine Dion für Morricone die Weltpremiere von "I Knew I Loved You" singen, begleitet von dem Quincy Jones Orchester. Dieser Song basiert auf dem berühmten "Deborah's Theme", einer unvergesslichen Morricone-Melodie aus dem Sergio Leone Film "Es war einmal in America/Once Upon a Time in America".

He already was nominated five times for an Oscar and now he will get this most important award of all on February 25h 2007 for his lifework. As highlight of the award ceremony Céline Dion will perform especially for Morricone the song "I Knew I Loved You" as a world premiere accompanied by the Quincy Jones Orchestra. i have to admit that eventho the music sounds beautiful , it's a bit boring .

HOWEVER that's why quincy is there and i'm sure it would sound sooooooo much better with an orchestra - celine would have to be on top shape for the oscar's night , it's either gonna be a classic moment or a huge miss...and celine would have to bring those long notes with her vibrato working 100% this time - ohhh i'll cross my fingers , i'm a bit scared

i want everyone to see her and think "woww she really is the best vocalist in the world" and not "ohh she once had an amazing voice" .

Her Oscar performance of MHWGO was shaky as hell! She did a good job, tho considering you actually saw her nervousness on her face! This was the year in my opinion her voice started going down the drain rapidly ending with her abysmal 99 vocal tragedy. She did recover in 2001 and of course now where she never goes over the top trying to sound like she just can't anymore. She should always stick to the sure vocal path now - her main mistake in 98/99 was that she thought she could sound as effortessly as she did in 94/5/6. she failed miserably delivering shaky nasal performances all over.

 

She will do great on Oscars. Expect Summertime vocals - really soulful delivery without pushing her voice too far.

it's the oscars - celine has to sound over the top , that's the celine everyone expect to hear and want to hear

I don't think Summertime was perfect but it was amazing in the vein of enchanting the audience in the studio, the audience in fron of the TVs and Céline's own fans. She surprised us with a great rendition, a soulful number and sharp vocals - even if they were not as clear on one or two places.

 

About MHWGO - well I do see you like it very much, gogo but to me she sounded overly nasal. She should have gone for the breathy tone not for the nasality+power. In my opinion that doesn't work all that well.

The MHWGO performance was partly that impressive because it was Céline at the oscars, she already had the wow-factor after all that succes.

This constant proving herself to I don't know whom is getting boring. She will do FINE and that's a fact. Her second name is Dion after all. She's got pipes and ppl will love not only the fact that she's there but also that she is actually singing live in front of them for mr. Morricone-Maccarrone! she's a fighter and will go for it the best way she feels comfortable with and the times when she actually had to prove herself to the wide audience are all over now. It's Céline Dion, the living Titanic legend performing. That is already enough especially if you very much know already she WILL be actually spot on vocally.

I love Celine, but I have to admit the Oscars performance of MHWGO is one of the worst live performances of this song. She sounded shakey and you could tell that she was really nervous.

There's no need to fear for Celine Dion! She will always pull it off.

 

Also, Beyonce couldn't steal anything from Celine....her vocal capability is a joke in comparison...not to mention her lack of emotion(and I do like Beyonce).

 

If there's anyone we need to worry about, it's Jennifer Hudson....BUT she's not singing a song that will really show off her talent so I think we're ok.

So is it sure that she will perform the song at the Oscar? Normally they only have performances of the nominated songs and that one isn't nominated for anything, so if it's true that would make it quite unique
