Celine on Ennio Morricone tribute album

the english album is still far away , but maybe they'll release 2 or 3 singles til the release of the album

Celine Nabs Another Date with Oscar

Oscar's heart still goes on for Celine Dion.

 

Sources tell me that Dion has been booked to perform at this year's Academy Awards. The Canadian crooner will sing during a tribute to legendary composer Ennio Morricone, who will be receiving an honorary Oscar at the Feb. 25 ceremony.

 

I'm told lyrics have been written for Morricone's score for Once Upon a Time in America just for Dion. "The lyrics have never been heard before," one source says.

 

Another source says that the song will probably be included on Dion's upcoming English album to be released sometime in the fall. A French album is expected to hit stores this April.

 

Dion is reportedly going to be included on a Morricone tribute album later this year, along with Yo-Yo Ma, Bruce Springsteen and Metallica.

 

This will be Dion's fifth time performing at the Oscars. While her career in movies is highlighted by the infectious "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, her outfit on the red carpet of the 71st annual Academy Awards in 1999 has become one of the more infamously panned getups. She wore a reverse white tuxedo from John Galliano with a matching fedora. No word on who will be dressing her this time around.

 

Dion's rep did not return calls.

 

While no performers have been officially announced. Awards producer Laura Ziskin announced earlier today that George Clooney, Cameron Diaz, Hugh Jackman and Eva Green will be presenters on the big night.

I like this bit so far. The music is really beautiful. It seems with Miracle she has returned to singing some fine and serious music (Miracle, If I Ruled The World, Summertime, Dance With My Father ...) instead of that forgettable ANDHC/OH preteen bubblegum pop

They used "estatica", which means "that gives you ecstasy", like you're in heaven. I hope you get what I mean.

alright so as u all know i didnt want to comment on the song before hearing the full version , but after hearing it few times since yesterday i've gotta say - her voice is annoying , the way she sings "time" - it's so annoying i cant really hear it

she should sing it on a higher key for her live performance just like when she sang "miracle" on ellen on a higher key and sounded amazing .

on the FIY album her low register was amazing and diffrent , now it sounds broken and raw - she cant end the notes right just like when she sang summertime...it sounds like she has flu or something .

 

i really hope the rest of the song would sound much better cause as for now - i prefer the music without her voice

I only hope that the song won't be a second miracle. That song is the most boring Celine song I've ever heard. If IKILY turns out to be slow and calm I don't want it to be on the new English album. Otherwise I would skip the track immediately.

omg another one...i don't understand how pop masterpieces like i'm alive and a new day has come (with non provocative or slutty lyrics or realisation) are supposed to be worse than LULLABIES for crying out loud

 

i knew i loved you rly resembles the "Miracle" sound but the music is so much better.(i also like the lyrics so far but they could easily turn to a "miracle" / "oh RC i love you so much" feast, hope they won't).Her voice sounds a bit better than on miracle...but just a bit...

 

i love the track so far...maybe because its ONE song and not a whole album of slow songs...

 

(i'm one of those who actually like the mix albums, if it should be a "concept" one it'd better be good, with some kick-off singles,miracle ain't one)

The music seems wonderful and the song will be certainly a beautiful celine "another " song..

Now i think the song is not really new..it was certainly made with miracle album...and i thought celine will comeback with a real new sound ,with a new team ...a surprise project like ,i dont know, coldplay rock sond..

I think celine is used to do normal classic things now,shes maybe scared to do innovate songs ,to lost her fans (well few stars can do that.madonna for example)....
