Celine has an accent, which does affect her vocal products when she is singing, in English. Kara's job is not to be there, sit and be in amazement of Celine. For a mega diva's "new direction" album - quality could not be compromised because of intimidation of the producers towards the diva (Celine). They are paid mega dollars to bring out the best in Celine. A great director (in which Kara plays a role in this production) would be able to point out the flaws and do creative and constructive criticism. Notice, also, that when Celine got it right, Kara gave her compliments.

 

Kara brought out the best in Celine.

I agree with that, Kara did a good job, meaby she's a little bit hard to Celine, but that's a producer, they get many money for to bring out the best in Celine, so I'm glad she's on the record, even I dislike her :glare:

Can we convert that vlc video file to something that can be played on Media Player or QuickTime?? The vlc program keeps acting screwy... PLEASE!!!??!??! :flowers:

 

 

i downloaded the mpg version and i only have 8 and a half minutes of the video...i duno what is going on

I'm thinkin' Sony is SCARED to put Let Me Be Your Soldier on the CD!

 

Céline has been referred to as "the whitest" artist on the planet.

 

She took a LOT of criticism for Treat Her Like a Lady which had an Rap/R&B feel.

 

But isn't this album about TAKING CHANCES?

 

If Let Me Be Your Soldier is the Timbaland or Ne-yo track... It has got to be off the chain!!

 

I LOVE hip hop and R&B and maybe the people who got to preview the album w/ this track is just not into that style of music?!

 

Anyone listen to Soulja Boy? Lovin' this song!!

Where? I've never listen any criticism about THLAL before. She did in 97, when black music wasn't even on the top of world music. So...

Hmm just a question about these mp3's (and the TC one).... we aren't allowed to post any stuff from TeamCeline, nor any 'official' stuff... so why are these mp3's allowed? Cos it aint full songs?

I think the mp3 of TC should be taken off the site, ecpecially since you can download it now from Itunes!

Well I finally got to haar most of the songs but still need to listen to them much more to get used to them all. It's so amazing that we're hearing these songs almost 1 1/2 months before release.

 

I didn't think I'd like Alone as much as I do, she sounds really amazing. I love seeing these sessions, it really gives us a good insight as to the recording process. I hope there's more on the dvd that comes with the cd though, I'd hate to think we'll be paying for something that anyone can get for free.

This has been brought up in another topic (here), I don't think it's her accent which affects the singing.

It's just strange cuz I've only heard people say the exact opposite of her being the "whitest" artist. http://smileyset.com/temp/PRINCESS/unsure.gif There was even a TV show (which is now canceled) a while ago where John Witherspoon had some lines where he mentions Celine.

 

These are not the EXACT lines but it was something like this...

 

 

John: We can write a song about black people and have Celine Dion sing it.

 

Other person: But she ain't black.

 

John: Sure she is. Why else would someone name their child Celine. Celine, that's a black girls name!
