what is the logic?? i just dont understand it...if u know u r coming to france in 2008 why not releasing the french album then? can u even imagine how huge that album could be? unless they r planning to release yet another french record in 2008

well it's still not a world tour , we know for some time now that rene is planning series of concerts in france for 2008 . the french album will be fotgotten til then but those concerts might help to promote her english album...

one have to wonder if celine can still sell out a week of shows in france...i guess it depends on the capacity of the place :bye1:

People come from all over the world to see her in Vegas. I'm sure people will come from all over Europe for those shows in Paris. That would be so great if it's confirmed. I'll surely go for a couple of shows there.

no they wont cause celine will come to other parts of europ too - there is going to be a world tour for sure the only question is the scale...rene said so himself :flowers:

It stays clearly that she will perform songs from D'elles there. The album will be a hit in Europe cuzz it has quality, gogo and they're ready to promote it righ as it seems.

So they will climb back in! What's the problem? Céline is a rarity when it comes up to albums going back to charts cuzz she HERSELF decides to promote them (not Sony cuzz they never will).

:mdr: Even if she'd do a month at Bercy she'd be sold out. Here, in France, every one is ardently waiting for the concerts.

It will not be forgotten at all, especially if D'Elles is a succes like D'eux. I have no doubts about that.

They will come, because they want to see a French show. Everywhere else Celine will sing mostly in English. C'mon, guys! Celine has the power! Ain't no one else that could have sold out Vegas for 5 years. She can sell out a few shows in Paris or anywhere else... You underestimate her.

yeahh it can climb back as long as it's not totally out of the charts and forgotten...i want to hear more about her plans for the u.k - it used to be her biggest market , she has soooooooooo many fans there and 1 visit will make her album one of the biggest albums of 2007 (the english one) .

without atleast 2 hits in the u.s it will be impossible to keep this album alive til the world tour cause celine will be busy promoting the album everywhere so dont take the billboard charts for granted...her recent albums faded very very fast there...

the situation in europ seems to be better...

I'm actually considering going to Paris to hear some songs from 1F4T and D'elles live. It will be surely a treat! :D

And it's clear Sony will release more than 4 singles from D'elles in Europe/Francophone countries. Already the early release of the first single indicates that she will be all over news.

teodora - i'm not underestimating celine but paris is not vegas - most of the people that come to see her daily show in vegas r not fans , they r people who love to gamble or people who visit vegas and r just saying "ohh lets go to one of the shows here..."

celine is huge in france yes and if there is 1 place she can sell her concerts it's paris yet she is not as popular as she used to be so i just cross my fingers she'll be able to sell out her shows :flowers:

Of course she can! She hasn't performed a gig there since 1999! Have you seen the interest in her when she was in Paris last time?? Bercy holds around 10,000-15,000 people.. Most people can't go to Vegas, but they can go to Paris! B)

she'll have her english album to promote in 2008 and seb until then both albums will be out of the charts

That may very well be, but when she tours, both albums will get right back up there! So both albums will have quite some lifespan..which is only very good!

No..Paris is even better than Vegas! It's like Canada/Quebec #2.. people love her there.. She has quite some fans there (and in the rest of Europe), unlike Vegas.

Oh she is, it's just that she hasn't really shown her face to the world for the last couple of years.. I was at a Holiday Convention 2 days ago and a LOT of people asked about Céline and a LOT of people thought she already stopped performing there....and a LOT of people loved the show and definately would like to get back.

She may seem not so popular again, but believe me: she is. B)

I'm suprised she isn't performing her show at the Stade de France. Bercy seems kinda small especially considering what a positive response she got in Paris last October.

Either way, I am definitely planning on going to see her in Paris!

I live my life like a runaway

I hide my dreams in a special place

I'm waiting here for my prince to come

To save me from the darkness...

I think it has to do with Celine prefering small (or smaller) venues now [that she's been used with The Colosseum)..:)

Yeah, I think this will be fine considering she plans to stay in each place for a longer amount of time. So smaller crowd, but more performances.

She is still famous and loved here in Europe than in the US. Just remember the frenzy around her coming to Paris in 2005... It was like the Beatles mania....So this time she'll have a packed house, and even more a house packed with fans :msn-wink:

Celine succeeding Celine?

Show's success might lead to new offer for singer who is ending Caesars run

By Jerry Fink

Las Vegas Sun

Who will replace Celine Dion as the megaheadliner at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace when the superstar exits Dec. 15?

Among the many options that have been rumored so far, no one has mentioned an intriguing possibility - Celine Dion.

If it is true that almost every show has been sold out for four years, surely an offer could be made that she couldn't refuse - even though she seems adamant about quitting the lucrative arrangement to have another child.

Why not take off a year or two, do the family thing and come back? Make sure the children have a secure future and fans are happy.

"You could always say that option is open," said John Meglen, president and co-chief executive of AEG Live/Concerts West, the company that leases and manages the Colosseum. "I would love to see her back. I hate to see this come to an end. It's been so successful and Celine and Rene (her husband, Rene Angelil) and their entire organization have been such a pleasure to work with.

"It's going to be a very, very sad day come Dec. 15. Would we love to see her more, of course we would."

But, he says, he isn't in a position to push her to change her mind. "We're just extremely grateful for everything," Meglen said.

Regardless of what happens when Dion gives her final performance, it's a safe bet that the Colosseum will continue to be home to megastars.

Elton John is signed through 2008.

Jerry Seinfeld probably can keep coming back to the 4,000-seat venue several weeks a year for as long as he likes.

But ultimately, who can replace Dion?

"A New Day ..." has the feel of a Cirque du Soleil production - because it was created by former Cirque genius Franco Dragone ("O" and "Mystere") - but whatever the second act is, it won't be Cirque.

Nor will it be a Broadway show.

"We're about headliners. We're about bringing in the greatest names - after all, what greater name do you have than Caesars Palace? And we want to keep the level of stars up there," Meglen said.

"We're about taking superstars and creating a show that cannot tour and that people can't see anywhere else and, if possible, a star they can't see anywhere else."

Dion will be hard to replace. She was the first to occupy the $95 million showroom, which was the first of several multimillion-dollar showrooms built in recent years ($135 million for "Ka" and $100 million each for "Love" and "Le Reve").

Whether it's Cher, Bette Midler or someone else, Meglen expects to make an announcement in a couple of months.

"Naturally we're keeping all options open," Meglen said. "But we do want to find a resident artist - or artists, plural - that can fill the remaining weeks that Elton's not playing. We hope Jerry Seinfeld will continue to come out and play his few weeks a year. We're going to continue with the Comedy Festival, that's been doing great, and we want to continue to build on that."

I love the fact that no-one can ever take away her success with this show and that the Colosseum was built for her, Totally amazing.

Ya! And so far there's nobody out there that can do what she did, sell out for five years (I'm sure these last one will be great too).
