I want to preorder the CD on Amazon, but first I want to know (if anyone here knows) what exactly is the difference between the 2 Disc version and the Collector's Edition Version. Is it only a book? Or is there more?

Collector Edition has a different packaging obviously and you get postcards and envelopes.

Did you read in French section, the album is up for pre-sale on iTunes (unfortunately only in France), it's not really expensive and it's even the special edition with bonus videos and booklet. I wonder if they will put it up on other countries iTunes stores too.

I was just surfing through iTunes Germany and I didn't find the album itself BUT amazon.de lists it for RELEASE in Germany for 1st June so it may be released in Germany after all!!!

 

Anyway when you go to iTunes France you can indeed preorder it already and you'll get the video to SNRQ and and exclusive interview as well! I wonder of they took it from the DVD... It's so nice to see the songs being available almost for download. haha

I'm getting really, really excited. I feel like there is a lot of hype starting to happen!! I haven't felt SO excited about a Celine Dion CD release since Let's Talk About Love--everyone had such huge expectations for that CD. This is exciting! I can't wait to buy it!

Anybody encountering the same problem as I am facing?

I am trying to purchase the collector's version of D'elles online. Since I live in Canada, I went to both Amazon.ca and Archambault.ca. On Archambault.ca, all three versions (regular; digit-pack; collector's) are listed there. Since the collector's version there is listed for $53.99CAD, so I went to check out how much it is at Amazon.ca.

 

Then on Amazon.ca, there are also 3 versions listed there. They don't have any description there telling which one is which, but by looking at their price ($20.99; $30.99; $40.99CAD), I assume the $40.00 CAD would be the collector's version. Since it is like $10.00 cheaper than Archambault, I was just about to purchase it through Amazon.ca.

 

But then I went to Amazon.com, they now have 4 different versions listed there:

D'elles Audio CD: $22.98 USD

D'elles (Bonus CD): $25.98 USD

D'elles (Limited Edition): $39.99 USD

D'elles Audio CD: $67.99USD

 

So I am all confused now. So would the $67.99USD one is indeed the real collectors' version, instead of the $39.99USD. And is the $40.99CAD listed on Amazon.ca really the collectors' version, cuz if it is, I would be surprise how much cheaper it is than Archambault and even Amazon.com.

 

I sent an email to Amazon.ca asking for clarification, but their reply is just helpless, telling me they don't have further information on the release than what is listed on their page. sigh...

Don't let them fool you by such a high price! Anything higher than $40 is a hoax! The collector costs 40 € max so it would mead about 50 US dollars MAX. But there in Canada the prices are a bit lower than in Europe so you can enjoy it for less!

Thanks for clearing that up for me!

 

So I guess I will make my order through Amazon.ca with the $40.99 version. At least the Amazon person told me in her reply that if I find out it's not the version I want, I could return it as long as the CD package is not opened. Hope they will be shipping it out before May 24th, and it will arrive at my door-step on the official release date. (fingers crossed!)

Janette Bertrand was on TV the other day supposedly and she said that after hearing her song ("Berceuse") at last she appreciates Céline's talent, interpretation of this song even more than her own written words. It's supposedly Céline's favorite song off the album. It ends with "Mommy loves you"...so sweet!

Well see it the other way: Most of her fans don't understand what she's singing anyway and they would like it if they wouldn't know it's a lullaby. Irony as its finest. Also you may not like the theme but most important of all she seems to really dig it and the fact that she insists on putting songs about babies on her albums means that if she just wanted to she'd record Miracle all over again and again and AGAIN! If that's her artistic choice then I'm fine with it as this is the ONLY time I know for sure: it's HER own decisipn, not Sony's, not René's but Céline's! And that's what counts and that's what she gets props for.

Well, you're actually right about most of her fans not understanding the songs and liking them exactly because of that...

However, I don't think that it ever has been only Rene's and Sony's choice... Celine has always been the one to say which song she wants to record and which not. She says that as early as the Unison VHS. So, no, I have never had to doubt her sincerity in any song, it was all her choice. And I am sure this is the case with D'Elles too. I'm just gonna have to skip the last song, that's why it would be very nice if they make it a hidden track :D
