fred Posted August 3, 2006 at 08:58 PM Posted August 3, 2006 at 08:58 PM I never had any doubt Meatloaf could carry this song up. His hits are quite fine and all reminding of this track. It is amusing to see how the girl is trying to sound like Bonnie Tyler (which this track would be suitable for aswell) in her first lines - in the refrain she's sounding more like Lee Ann Rimes. It is actually a quite nice feature to hear the new approach with her enforcing the "Touch me like this, hold me like that" - that's what covering is all about, new approach. However (yes, it doesn't please me ) that's how good as it gets. The song never lifts up, and if it does halway through it is way too late, coz it hasn't got a crip of the listener in the first 25% of the song so it wont be a hit. The tempo is too slow, the arrengements are not as powerful as the song demands and the overall production is quite lame. If this is the biggest effort to make a hit I am sorry Meatloaf you'll have to return another time. Like I said there is nothing WRONG with Meatloaf's performance, but it doesn't demand as much space as I had hoped. He's way too humble, almost excusing towards the female vocalist, giving her too much space, which she doesn't take since she knows it is his track, sadly he has forgotten that. He should had duetted with the original Bonnie Tyler and hired another producer and this track would had been a huge it. So it is sad for Meatloaf that this rocket ain't gonna lift up, but on the other hand it is good for Céline since she still holds the surperior best version. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Bellamy Posted August 6, 2006 at 11:57 PM Posted August 6, 2006 at 11:57 PM Meat told me: "I'm singing like I've never done - doing things with my vocals I'd never have attempted. "I had trouble singing songs with the letter 'G' in them for some reason. "I went to a vocal coach who gave me lots of exercises which involved waving my arms in the air as I reached for certain notes. I looked ridiculous but it worked." Rock giant Meat took singing lessons before making Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose. He invited me to hear a preview of the album, which is set for release in October. First single from the new CD is It's All Coming Back To Me Now, a stunning duet between Meat and new prot?g? Marion Raven. The song - penned by Bat-collaborator Jim Steinman - was a hit for Celine Dion in 1996. Meat said: "It was written for Bat II in 1993 but we held it back for this album." Source: http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/news/tm_object...-name_page.html Poor Meatloaf must had a hard time when he was trying hit the notes of IACMTMN. stevo Posted September 2, 2006 at 12:45 AM Posted September 2, 2006 at 12:45 AM From monstersandcritics.com:"It's All Coming Back to Me Now" - Meat Loaf feat. Marion Raven Covering a song made famous during Celine Dion`s pop heyday is almost laughable in its audacity - but, of course, when it comes to Jim Steinman compositions, we all know that Meat Loaf was there first. Word is that "It`s All Coming Back to Me Now," which Dion took to No. 2 in 1996, was originally intended for the `Loaf. As the first single from upcoming 'Bat out of Hell III,' the song is retooled to great effect as a duet. Accompanying vocalist Marion Raven has the supersized vocal mettle to meet her match with Meat Loaf`s mega-theatrical performance and stands in the wings as a star in waiting. Even so, Meat Loaf is so often over the top that he conjures a cartoon character, and Steinman`s extraordinary song doesn`t benefit from any new bells and whistles. That said, it still makes for a fun and familiar listen that adult contemporary/adult top 40 should embrace - truly, it works on most levels - but in terms of dueling talent, Dion has no worries. I think it's what we all want to hear! Don't mess with Celine! Quote

celinefanonline Posted September 4, 2006 at 11:55 AM Posted September 4, 2006 at 11:55 AM Meatloaf Covers Dion's Cover of Steinman's Meatloaf Songby Paul Cashmere August 31 2006 Apologies for the confusing headline but that's the way it goes. Meatloaf has recorded his version of the Celine Dion hit 'It's All Coming Back To Me' for the upcoming 'Bat Out of Hell 3' album. The song was written by Meatloaf's songwriter Jim Steinman but first recorded and made famous by Celine Dion. Meatloaf's version will be the first single from the 'Bat Out Of Hell 3' album. It is a duet with Marion Raven (formerly of M2M). The original 'Bat Out Of Hell' album is one of the biggest selling albums of all-time. In Australia, it ranks just behind John Farnham's 'Whispering Jack' with sales of 1.54 million in Australia alone. Worldwide, the combined sales of 'Bat Out Of Hell' and 'Bat Out Of Hell 2' have sold more than 45 million units. 'Bat Out Of Hell 3' will also feature Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue and John 5 (Marilyn Manson).source: http://www.undercover.com.au/news/2006/aug...1_meatloaf.html Quote Courage don't you dare fail me now!

stevo Posted September 4, 2006 at 05:09 PM Posted September 4, 2006 at 05:09 PM (edited) Everyone knows it as a Celine hit and that's what it'll always be. All over the internet that's what all the critics are saying. I think it very bizarre that ML should even want to try to record it after Celine- it was just so "signature her"- oh well, it's not as bad as I thought it might be but one listen is enough for me. Meat Loaf doesn't believe the song carries any baggage from the Celine Dion version. "I don't think so," he says. "I always thought it was meant to be a duet and I can tell you right now how it got to her is through a greedy publisher. "It was meant to be on Bat Out of Hell II but it was pulled because that album already had a big duet in the song I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)." For the duet he's joined by Norway's Marion Raven, who enjoyed moderate success in the 1990s as part of all-girl duo M2M.
