I'm quite sure you meant that as a joke, and maybe you two go back long enough that that's your kind of humor. Yet I also know that's not funny and not what someone trying to quit 2 very addictive substances at once needs to hear. I have known/seen people take this on, although never 2 at a time so I doubly commend you, Tyler, and one thing I know about quitting/recovery, is that they need all the support of those around them.
Tyler, congratulations. Sobriety can be the first day of the rest of your life. It can open doors to freedom and joy for you without the numbing, escape and distraction those substances provide.
Please do not try to go this alone. It was never meant to be done like that. Lean in and ask for help and support when you need it, our's and, if necessary and you're willing, there are many support groups out there for those willing to take the journey you are starting on. Others have done this successfully and you can, too. PM me if you want to talk/ask questions because I have gone to things like that, for other emotionally and childhood-based reasons and they have worked well for me. Either way, just know you CAN do this, and just remember, only take 1 day at a time. That's all any of us were ever designed to be able to handle, life in 24 hour increments.

More and more members stopped donating to the forum after the Jane fiasco. It's so unfair to have one person ruin it for others. For the first time ever, I might have to look for a cheaper and usually less reliable hosting provider. :confused:

I don't think that it's just Jane's actions that have led people to make this decision Vic. Personally I am not very impressed by the way the whole issue has been handled by the "powers that be" since she did what she did. I know its embarrassing for all involved but besides Bralo starting up that topic there's been a lot of hand washing going on. There are many of us here who's raffle entry ended up in the pockets of this individual and calls have been made for something more to be done to get justice, but instead the topic has been closed and the issue has been left hanging.

It is understandable that ye may be worried a out what the legal ramifications may be for the forum if the authorities were involved, but at least tell people here if these are the concerns so that people aren't feeling like there views are not worth a response.

Also I would like to know just what my money is going to every month. Could ye not give us a breakdown of the monthly running costs of the site (in 2007 you said it was about $450 per month.) and what the monthly incoming/outgoings are? Considering our "donations" are helping to finance the site it would seem to be only fair that we know how our money is being spent each month. Also more updates on exactly how the upgrades to the forum are going would be nice to hear. We keep hearing how such and such a new feature will be on the new version of the board, but it seems to be like waiting for Armageddon. Last i heard it was going to be before the new album came out. thats in 2 weeks. Is that still the plan? And how much is this upgrade costing?

Finally, times are a lot tougher now and people have to economise more. It may just be that the way the whole Jane fiasco has been handled is the straw that broke the camels back for many donators. I know that I would like to keep contributing, but even with the small amount I contribute a month, it's no longer as easy to justify it as it was. I still have other commitments I need to honour, including the financing of the discography site.

I do hope that contributions increase and the forum can continue to grow and develop, but in return I would like to see more information about how the donations are spent.

It was on Facebook a few weeks ago...there was 'a woman' (not what I want to call her from all I've heard!) who started a raffle for a meet and greet with Céline including airfare, hotel, etc. The woman then pocketed cash and made excuses to winner. Despised by all people I know for scamming a disabled person out of her prize and others out of money paid. (Must point out it wasn't authorised or promoted by Céline/her team and hasn't been reported to police as far as I know)

Sorry if I have trodden on anyones toes here :hmm: :shrug: :confused:

Ya also agree that the "Jane" topic shouldn't of been closed/locked. I thankfully did not buy any tickets for that "raffle" , but if i had, i'd be very very angry indeed. And it probably looks weird to some people that that topic is now locked....i know the forum had nothing to do with it , but unfortunetely Jane used here to steel from celine fans, Its a very serious issue and im suprised more fans on here didnt post on the thread furious, as i certainly would have had i bought tickets.....it should at least be a place where people can vent and discuss what happened and support each other. And since such an awful thing happened with peoples money, its true alot of them would never donate again without being very careful.

Im very cross at that girl for what she did, unless something happened to her and thats why she has dissapeared off the face of the earth.... :shrug:

Oh I have to share something!! Isn't this cool: I went to my usual Flashdance class at the gym on Thursday, and you won't believe which song I heard there... Ne partez pas sans moi!! I mean, I couldn't believe it!!! It's SO rare to hear Céline in some class at the gym (I think I've heard two of her songs during those 8 years that I've gone there ), not to mention a FRENCH song of her's and from the EIGHTIES. I told the instructor that I would've never believed I'd hear that song there! It was just so cool! And next Thursday we'll be dancing on it again! ^_^

And only 4 nights to go before Grey's Anatomy finally airs in Finland too!! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! :w00t: :whee:

So, I went to Mendoza to renew my passport... wich I couldn't do since my ID wasn't in "perfect conditions" so I had to ask for a new ID, (wich can take 30 days to arrive) to ask for my new passport... :evil: I'm sooooooo angry !!! :angry2: cause it will take another 20/30 days to get my passport after asking for it if I pay the normal price, wich is almost U$D 100 and I'm supposed to be travelling to Europa this next month!!! And I have to pay almost U$D 200 if I want to get it in 48 hrs. :nono: SOOOOOOO PISSED OFF !!! :angry:
