Yup yup, definitely not the US for me. I think I'd put on weight real fast! O.o But also, some are still quite racist and I heard, getting a job there is a nightmare!

Oh yea, and France! I need to learn French first though :P

SA has loosen up in the past decade or so. We are a lot like most European countries and the USA, but there are still certain things that are kind of taboo here.

But there is one thing that has always boggled my mind. In SA you have to be 18 or older to get a learners permit and 19 to get a license, but we can buy alcohol at 16, while in America, you have to be 16 to get a license and you can only drink when you are 21. It is weird.

 This topic hasn't been so busy for quite some time. I think we've filled about four pages since yesterday. Vic will be so proud. Maybe not with the content though... :giggle:

Yeah! I also think I'd gain a lot of weight, cos the way of living is so different than here! Plus it's still not the most open minded country on the world! :whistling:

Hahaha well you can do that while you're in France ;) Vivre comme les Français! ;)

LMAO!! yeah Vic will be proud indeed!

Yeah I always thought that rule about driving and alcohol in the USA is sooo weird! Like that discussion they have now in the hotel threads; people can't book a hotel when they are 18, while in their own homes, that's considered as adult!

Here you are allowed to get beer and light drinks from the age of 16... but you have to show your ID till your 24 and from the age of 18 you can buy hard liquor... and get a driver's license!

Nanny states are beginning to becoe quite popular nowadays I find. People should be able to make their own minds up about these things, as long as you are over 16, then cesorship does nothing but promote bigotry and hatred.

I think that 18 is a good age to legalise alchohol, obviously under 18's are going to drink but they shouldn't be encouraged to by society. That would be irresponsible. But 21 is a ridiculous age, I never understood that, and having to produce your drivers licence to go into some bars, even at my age. Quite ridiculous! Last time I was in Vegas, we weren't allowed into the bar without one. I mean I was 34 for pity's sake. I wasn't even wearing my ray-bans!!

I would love to live in Melbourne, Australia, I think that would be my dream location. The states doesn't appeal, except New York, but I'd have to be living in a good area, with a very good job. Canada would also appeal, but again I'm more a city dweller.

I love the cities too John. I don't think I can live in the countryside. It'll drive me nuts! Mm yes, Melbourne sounds about right. My sister might be going there to study. Then I'll hitch a ride over :D

Now that's a lot of things you're doing at the same time :lmao:

I see Bellamy checking up on the thread :P

:lmao: I am 25 and I can't even get into a casino without my ID or drivers licence, nevermind a bar... :sofunny: When I go out with friends, I'm always asked for some kind of proof of my age, because I'm a lot smaller than most of them. They always find it very amusing.

I think our twisted laws about the alcohol and licenses are one of the main reasons our death toll on the road is so high.

Edit: Why doesn't Ester post so much in here anymore? She used to post here often...

Our death tolls are high not because of alcohol. It's cuz the damn lorry and bus drivers don't sleep! :mdr: And worse thing is, it's true!

EDIT: I has no idea Claudette. I think she just took like a break cuz it was all quiet here

EDIT2: she just told me she has been really really busy and she'll be back soon :P

^ LMAO! :sofunny:

Porn is like banned here. So imagine there's this clear bubble over Malaysia and all the porn floating around outside it :mdr: Hell i don't think the satellite can hold it up if we have porn on the paid channels lol. Ya even can't watch tv when it rains :lmao:

Porn is banned here too, for traditional and political reasons. But it's quite easy to get porn from internet.

Yeah I always thought that rule about driving and alcohol in the USA is sooo weird! Like that discussion they have now in the hotel threads; people can't book a hotel when they are 18, while in their own homes, that's considered as adult!

I think that's reasonable. Those hotel refuse people below 21 are hotels with casinos. Those without casino like Hilton... do allow people above 18 to book rooms.

I seriously think Australia is boring to live.

And why do you think Australia is boring?

I have some relatives who live there told me it's very boring, everywhere is like country side. I think it's only good for old people after retirement.

Maybe they were staying in the outskirts or somewhere far away from the cities

*runs around* I have no idea what to do right now. Watch show? Ogle at someone's face? hmmmm

Posted (edited)

Well thats true in some parts, but big modern cities like Sydney and Melbourne are definitley not boring. They are very vibrant places indeed. And full of young people just like us!

If I were you, I'd continue ogling my face Krys.
