Celine was never big on Billboard, it was always a struggle for some reason. Her being in 4th place is actually a good surprise, probably push by her high albums sells, cause if we look at singles her performance was always way lower then her peers. Maybe someone who followed her at 90s could explain why.

Yep, her album sales in the 90s were amazing , but suck after ANDHC/OH (the low point was the Courage album ).



Sony should have pushed her singles sales more in the US, but they counted on Celine as an album seller.

* singles were marketed more towards teens/youth  
* Sony’s focus was not just the U.S. market, but worldwide sales - so I don’t think her records were strictly “American” taste
* Céline’s musical style was “adult”, even in her early 20s
* her appeal was greater with adults (who could afford to buy a full-length album)
* She hardly ever made appearances on MTV or VH1 because

You are right with MTV, but Celine was big on VH1 in the late 90s. It was the Celine channel.

Also she is not American (USA), not even English native, I'm sure that also played against her. Regardless, Céline was the worldwide top selling artist (male or female) of the 90s. If I'm not wrong, no other artist has ever sold so many records as Céline did between 1995-99

It's been trending on Tiktok. And it's been outstreaming those songs for months now.
If anything, Immortality helps MHWGO add something for the awful streams LTAL gets.

I'm Alive is getting 100k streams on Spotify every Friday now. It had 102k yesterday.

MHWGO has now 480M streams with 2 versions.

Immortality (album version) did 60.9k which is its "peak" so far

Well, If I had to guess… Mariah and Madonna had songs the went viral recently. Mariah with ‘It’s a Wrap’ (the buzz is still going on that one) and Madonna with ‘Back That Up to The Beat’. Both of them (or their teams) released EP with new versions of those songs to push their streaming after went viral. They also had several other songs that went viral in the latest years, while Celine had two, a big one with IACBTMN and a minor one that never went nowhere with MHWGO and her team never released something new or promoted the viral to keep things going.

They also had collaborations with artists that are big on streaming, Mariah with Latto and DJ Khaled, Madonna with Beyoncé and some new rappers I don’t know much about.

As for Whitney, her numbers were always bigger after her death and  I’m sure the recently released movie also helped.
