the main character is mostly the same, but the movies are fun none the less!

Some of my personal all-time favs, random order:

 

-> Breakfast at Tiffany's <3 - one of my favourite films with the lovely Audrey Hepburn

-> If Looks Could Kill (aka Teen Agent) - not so well-known but veeeery enjoyable, action-filled comedy

-> Mamma Mia! <3 - don't we all know what it's about? And I looove Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried singing ABBA!

-> Misery - one of the best films based on S. King's books [with the amazing Kathy Bates]

-> Shawshank Redemption - see above (not the K. Bates part ;D)

-> Love Actually - the warmest, nicest romantic comedy (is that all it truly is?) ever

-> Short Circuit 1 & 2 - well just see it and you'll love it ;D My favourite robot Johnny 5 (btw, WALL-E looks a lot like his smaller version)

-> Tha Parent Trap - with the adorable Lindsay Lohan playing twins, and my lovely Natasha Richardson

-> Evening - amazing pictures and wonderful acting of Toni Colette, Natasha Richardson and her mother Vanessa Redgrave

-> Lake House - probably the best romantic movie I've seen starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock... I love this film and the music <3

Under The Same Moon (Spanish)

In this tale illuminating the plight of illegal aliens, Kate del Castillo plays Rosario, a woman working illegally in the United States to provide a better life for her son Carlitos (Adrian Alonso), who remains at home in Mexico. Longing for his mother, Carlitos stows away on a van that's headed for the border. An already treacherous journey becomes even more so when Carlitos is separated from his smugglers

 

In July (German)

Daniel (Moritz Bleibtreu) is a shy, lovelorn science teacher in Hamburg, Germany. Juli (Christiane Paul) is a dread-locked, free-spirited Hamburg street vendor. They cross paths when Juli sells Daniel a sun-inscribed ring and tells him he will soon fall in love with a woman wearing a similar symbol … secretly hoping that she herself will be that woman.

 

 

Mother Of Mine (Swedish)

Director Klaus Härö tackles the real-life drama of history in this heartbreaking film set against the backdrop of World War II. Evacuated to the safety of neutral Sweden along with more than 70,000 other Finnish children, 9-year-old Eero (Topi Majaniemi) grapples with feeling abandoned by his biological parents and yet detached from his surrogate family. Unfortunately, things only get worse when he returns to a much different home life.

 

 

Twin Sisters (Dutch)

This compelling drama from the Netherlands follows twins Anna and Lotte, who are suddenly orphaned and torn apart in 1920s Germany. Sent to live with two different relatives -- Anna on her uncle's farm in Germany, Lotte with her rich aunt in Holland -- the sisters must struggle to reconcile the differences of their youth when they meet as adults during World War II and again in their old age. Based on the best-seller by Tessa de Loo.

 

 

The Wedding Banquet (Can't remember if this is originally in Mandarin or in English, both audio tracks are available)

This lyrical film by Ang Lee dares to expand the definition of love. Wei Tong (Winston Chao) is a successful Manhattan businessman enjoying a thriving relationship with his live-in lover, Simon (Mitchell Lichtenstein). Life is perfect, except his parents don't know he's gay. So, when they decide to visit from Taiwan, he asks his tenant, Wei Wei (May Chin), for help. She agrees to pose as his fiancée -- a plan that goes a little too far.

 

 

Camp (English)

Camp Ovation is a performing arts summer camp where talented kids come to spread their wings. Among them are Vlad, a "bona fide straight boy"; Ellen, a megastar with huge insecurities; and Michael, who's struggling with his sexual identity. Their director, Bert Hanlon (Don Dixon), is a washed-up has-been ... but the kids have as much to teach him as he has to teach them. Funny, touching and beautifully written and directed by Todd Graff.

Eagle Eye - A VERY good movie indeed. Very suspenseful and thrilling.

 

Push - Full of action, but an amazing movie.

 

Hancock - Funny and action-filled. Stars Will Smith.

 

Made of Honor - Very cute and funny. Chick flick lol.

 

Confessions of a Shopaholic - Based on my favourite book series. It's VERY cute and lovable.

 

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - AMAZING movie. It's kind of long, but it's definitely worth it. Stars Brad Pitt and Kate Blanchett.

 

Definitely, Maybe - VERY VERY VERY adorable movie!

 

Knowing - Very thrilling. I love this movie. Stars Nicolas Cage.

 

Taken - Another action-packed movie, but VERY good.

 

Inkheart - This is similar to Narnia. A great movie indeed.

 

Paul Blart: Mall Cop - This movie is hilarious. Watch it if youw wanna have a good laugh.

 

Seven Pounds - AMAZING movie. Made me cry. Stars Will Smith

 

Yes Man - Very motivational, I must say, but it's funny and heart-warming too. Stars Jim Carrey.

 

Little Miss Sunshine - VERY CUUUUUUTE movie. Stars Abigail Breslin.

Cliffhanger - If you're in the mood of action. Star in the movie Sylvester Stallone

 

Romeo & Juliet - If you're not in the mood for action. Stars in the movie Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio

 

Ringu - The Ring but the original japanese version.

300 - if you're into period movies and lotsa blood flying artistically everywhere

 

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang - modern day, film noir kind of story. still funny

Oh awesome topic!

 

1) Girl Interupted Its with Angelina Jolie, Wynona Rider, Whoopie Goldburg and Britney Murphy. Its about a woman who goes to a mental institution for a year and what they all go through. Its a top fave of mine!

 

2) The Beach Lenoardo Decaprio is in it and its where he gets a map to a beach where there is like a group of people living there and yeah its just AMAZING! lol

 

3)Mask Is the one with Cher and shes the mother of a son who has a disability if you would call it that and there life with a SAD ending. Still amazingly good.

 

4) Monster with Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci; its the story of Alien Wuornos who was like the first woman serial killer.

 

I have MILLIONS more but i figured i would put my two cents in haha.

Saw Adventureland on Sunday and it sucked!!! boring storyline, ok acting but common! it was sooooo boring! IMO

I think that's the whole point There ISN'T much "action"/excitement going on, it's a bloody boring summer job, where he finds Em. And since it's based on a persons (the director) true experience it's supposed to be like that

 

But yeah, it's a movie for those who appreciate simple love stories, and stories of life, not those who want a whole lot of plot to keep them interested
