I'm sorry. I have to say I hate this version. I hate how Josh and Andrea try to over sing each other. When they sing together. It sounds so annoying, instead beautiful when they sing with Celine. Don't get me wrong, I still like Josh and Andrea.

 

I totally agree with you. I listened to it trying not to compare it with the Celine version, and I found it absolutely annoying as well. It was not one of the highlights of the show for me. I also love Josh and Andrea, but they should have sung another song.

I just bought Josh Groban's brand new CD+DVD set, "Awake live" and let me tell you something....it's mindblowing

This was my first chance to witness his excellence in live performance, since he's not popular here in Argentina; and I got really shocked with the way he delivers every single song...amazing.

I'm convinced now that he's the only one who matches Celine in the way he performs live.

Celine Dion & Josh Groban are (in my humble opinion) the only two artist in the whole world who can deliver such flawless, powerful, meaningful and unforgettable performances.

And if that was not enough, he's on-stage with the most talented musicians I've ever heard.

 

See, I'm a huge Josh's fan, but believe me when I say, you won't regret buying this new DVD+CD.

I, too, am a huge Josh Groban fan. Actually, I kind of discovered my love for Celine because of Josh. I was doing a search on YouTube of Josh Groban videos early last year or late the year before and I came across the performance of "The Prayer" with Josh and Celine from, I think, the Children's Day concert. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY!!! Their voices match perfectly and I even prefer this version to the Andrea Bocelli and Celine version. (I wasn't all that familiar with Celine before this, other than the big hits that everyone has heard). Of course, Andrea is a tenor and Josh is a baritone, so the tonal quality of their voices is entirely different. But Josh is just so wonderful. I would love to see he and Celine do a concert or album together. Josh and Celine rock!!

 

I would love to get this CD and DVD. Thanks for the info about it.

If I must me completely honest, I would have prefered if he sang more songs from his previous albums. He focuses on "Awake", and let behind such amazing songs as "To where you are", "se","alejate","let me fall" and others.

Let me say that the violin player onstage with Josh is absolutely superb. She's way better than Taro Hakase, the guy from "to love you more"

I adore "To Where You Are" and "Let Me Fall". I also love his rendition of "Vincent". I watched the YouTube video of the Ally McBeal episode where he sang "To Where You Are" and I cried my eyes out. I posted the words to that on a online guestbook for a funeral for one of our family friends. The words are so beautiful.

 

The violinist, Lucia Micarelli, is amazing. I saw the AOL Sessions video of her and Josh doing "Mi Mancerai". And you're right, she is really wonderful.

 

He is like Celine in the respect that when he sings in Spanish or Italian, you can almost believe that it's his native language. Does he sing any French songs?

 

Did you get his Christmas CD, "Noel"? Beautiful!! I also really like "Believe" from Polar Express, which I feel could easily have been included on the Christmas CD. And him singing with Sarah McLachlan on "In the Arms of the Angel" is spectacular. If you haven't heard that, check it out on YouTube:

About french songs, he doesn't sing the only one he has recorded, "Hymn a l'amour", the Edith Piaf song. It's included in "closer" (at least in my version of the Cd)

Vincent will always be my all-time favorite Josh Groban's song. it's a cover, but his version is just so divine and very relaxing. perfection. i only have his debut album and Awake. i didn't buy Noel cause im not a huge fan of xmas songs, but i will definitely buy it this xmas. his latest album is not yet available here. and yes celine and josh are 2 of the most important voices in music.

I saw Josh in concert a few years back and he was amazing! Although Celine doesn't always give a stellar live performance, but when you see as many as I do you can't help but compare them I might have to check out this DVD!

Well LVCELINE, I haven't seen neither Celine nor Josh "live", just their DVD performances. I wish I had the chance to witness them "in the flesh", that'll be out of this world.

I forgot to say that the accopamnig CD of this set has only 9 songs, so the main star of it is definetly the DVD. The great thing about is that among the nine songs, it's the live version of "Awake", which wasn¡t included on the regular ewdition of the CD "Awake", but only on a special-internet only edition, so many of us can enjoy that gem now

No, not yet Bellamy, but the DVD is really in high quality.

My TV is old, no stereo nor surround....and still the sound is amazing.

You see, it's really hard to find stuff from Josh Groban here, in Argentina, since he's not popular at all. I would say 99,99% of people have no idea who he is.

i saw this album a while ago, but i decided to buy madonna's Hard Candy. (im sorry, Josh's latest dvd is more expensive (Php 550) than madonna's cd (Php 450)), but i will buy it for sure. i love the cover! but it's amazing that the "highlight" of this release is the dvd and not its audio cd.
