Oh man! This thread really makes me want to buy a ticket! :cry:

 

I got an email last night with an insider's promotion to get the presale tickets (which were released THIS morning at 10AM)...

 

Oh welll... I guess I will see Josh in the future :P

Josh Groban’s album “Awake” jumped up this week from no.107 spot to no.56 in the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

His recent partecipation to “Ellen” TV show has help it a lot without any doubt. Josh, who has recently achieved the platinum for “Awake” is going to start the 2nd leg of his tour in July 2007 and is currently in studio with David recording a Christmas album.

Sensational guitarist Andy McKee reports on his blog that he played in one track.

Seriously Love, you should really buy a ticket, let me tell you, you won't regret it one bit! I saw him in concert in Febuary. I took my sister for her birthday and we had an amazing time. I almost enjoyed him as much as Celine, but not quite....ideally him and Celine in a concert would be amazing!!! Anyway, I think he sang every song but one or two from the Awake album, and was amazing! I can't wait for a Christmas album...mmmmmmmmm that will be great!

I'm a twin mommy just like Celine!

hey guys, what's so great about this guy? is he really that good? i mean i know simon cowell likes him and i have heard one songs, but to me he is a little sheepish and cheesy.

I think the tone of his voice is really beautiful. In terms of techinique sometimes his vibrato is a little too fast or unsteady for my liking. But he has such great tone, especially at such a young age. But because his tone is so distinct, he cant just sing anything so he sticks more to ballad/popera kinda stuff, which it seems people either love or hate. His lastest album Awake, he took more risk and is more of a departure from his two previous albums. He experimented with other styles of music and didnt always sticking to that popera theme.

 

I was a casual fan, until March 12 when I saw him in concert. Seriously after the first song I went from quasi fan to raging fan. Aside from sounding great, he was so hilarious and humble. And he played piano and drums... It was just an excellent show.

Last year when he was in Philadelphia I didn't see him :doh:

Awake is a great cd.. One of my favorite songs is the an emotional remake of 'Weeping' with Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Their background vocals were wonderful in Paul Simon's cd, Graceland His trip to South Africa seemed to have a profound impact. A clip of the song:

. The melody from the song, Machine reminds me of some of Peter Gabriel's material. Another one of my favorite from Awake.
