Aside from Celine's, my next favorite is Sarah McLachlan's, "Wintersong" album. The TWO BEST Christmas albums EVER!!

"Wintersong" was breathtaking!!!

 

Another album which comes to a close 2nd for my favorite (behind Celine's) is "American Indian Christmas" by Jana. It's 10 traditional Christmas songs sung in 10 different Native American languages. Jana has a beautiful and powerful voice.http://www.smileysets.us/temp/PRINCESS/biggrin.gif

I got the album this past sunday but haven't listened to it yet. I have to been in the mood to listen to xmas music and I'm just not there yet.

 

I listened to a bit of Silent Night though and it sounds awesome!

Tara and I do this tradition that we give a gift related to christmas to each other on Thanksgiving and I told her I wanted this...so I`ll listen to it then. I did listen to some of the clips though and it sounds wonderful

Josh is the best male singer ever! I am so excited for this album I seen this album at walmart, but it was between that one, marie osmond's, and our beloved celine's. You know who won out. I love the DVD to these are special times.

Hope it's ok. I used to love Chirstmas albums, but now all new ones feels too sappy and discuistinly copycatish.

 

I really like Barbra Streisand's first Christmas album though, whatever it's called, with the wierd (but good) Jingle Belles as first track - that one is super!

 

Ella Fitzgerald's Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas is also very fine.

 

And Diana Krall's, and Céline's.

 

Except those above, nearly everything sounds the "same old, same old" to me now.

Its hard to put a new spin on xmas songs. The songs are classics and most people like to hear them sound 'traditional'. I only own 3 xmas albums and I say only cause I'm Jewish so techinically I shouldn't own any. Although whats with Babs releasing an xmas album??

 

Anyways I hate to say it but I think Mariah's is my fav. Its just filled with choirs and its all gospely sounding. I dont even like gospel but there's something about it I love. Celine's is good and her rendition of OHN is ridiculously amazing, but I don't care for a lot of the songs she chose.

I don't listen to him and I didn't go but his 2 concerts here in Manila last Oct. 17 and 18 were hyped to the max!!! I think 100% of Manila's elite turned up. LOL He was so touched by the fan reception that he promised to come back next year for a charity concert!!! He said that he expected the crowds to be stiff and corporate but they were gamely waving their lit blue sticks during the shows!!! LOL Multiple standing ovations and he gave not just one but three encores!!! Now, I don't know what the Filipino promoter promised him but Manila was the ONLY Asian leg of his world tour that he didn't cancel!

 

Okay, moving along....I came across this society column and it said that Josh got smitten by the charms of not just one but two girls! Two young socialites who happen to be very good friends!!!! LOL One of the girls was his constant companion during his stay in Manila and when he saw the other girl during the pre-concert dinner party, he asked the writer of the said column about her....twice!!! He asked the writer who she was and whether she was attending the concert! The writer told him her name but, no she wasn't seeing the show bec. all tickets were sold out. And Josh was like, "I wonder if I can give her a complimentary ticket." The article said no more than that.

 

 

I saw a few pictures of the first girl hanging out with Josh and honestly, I didn't think she was all that but I'm not Josh, right? LOL I haven't seen any pictures of the second girl but I think she must be stunning bec. her mom is supposed to be this former Ms. Universe who's now a veteran actress.

Well, I'm not a guy but I think the Filipina girls ARE the most beautiful girls in the world!!!!!!!!!

 

So I deffinitely can understand Josh, hahaha!!! :D
