Rene knew this was about the big picture and it wasn’t just a check to him… it was also personal.
We have to make peace with no other manager thinking about Celine’s career other than checking the boxes they need to in order to justify a check. 

They know the shows will sell out instantly, they don’t care if you or I are there, they just care about asses in the seat. Rene would’ve wanted fans to be in there to make the energy electric, especially if there’s a chance it’s filmed and streamed later.

What's to whole deal to subscribe to a newsletter to be the first to get members only offers and updates?

They were a day late with the tour news. And they had no members only offer.

It should be mandatory that the first 20 rows on the floor and tribune are reseverd for fans. The way they are handling this sale is beyond me, get the prices out, get a clear map out, give us the VIP details, be honest on how the lottery system works.  

Customer service tells you, yeah you can make multiple accounts with the same creditcard, its the email that counts. Last day they say accounts with the same creditcard will not participate.

And all the papers mention that general sale will mostly be sold out before it even happend. Most tickets will be sold in the presales.

I know fandom comes in different layers, but it just can't be that one who just likes 2 songs and want to be at the event of the year sits at the show, and we the one who really be feeling and supporting her for years won't make a decent chance.

Big chance that the wannabees will eventually sell it again with profit.

That was exactly my thought too I am afraid. Rene treated fans like we mattered. Clearly the understanding is now lost. The amazing story of her come back is a massive marketing and money making exercise and loyalty over the years from fans counts for nothing. Those who do get tickets will go and have a great time I am sure but those of us who don't will be very disappointed indeed.

Out of interest, is there any way of us contacting her management to make this point to them?

I don’t think it’s a matter of needing new management, but rather better organization of staff and their responsibilities. They’re great at lunching things, like what’s app channels, TikTok, newsletter sign ups, but once the hype dies down, they tend to phase out or abandon them and move on to the next. Tells me they need to better assign clear internal roles so specific people or teams are responsible for maintaining these concepts over time and make it so it has long term impact and connections such as to early access ticket sales / VIP specials for members and other fun little things.

I’m more of a lurker than a poster. The news of Céline’s return is very exciting but like you guys there’s definitely a concern that real fans will be left out in the cold while some random people who want to go because it’s trendy or whatever get in and then act confused when Céline starts singing in french lol 

Anyway my reason for posting is I saw similar situations during the Eras tour.

(Yes a Taylor fan …though that Grammys situation left a sour taste ..have not forgotten )

Long term fans struggling to get tickets while bandwagon jumpers were front row knowing maybe 5 songs & looking bored for the rest of it . The fans got creative though and worked together as a community to get to shows . People who did get codes and could afford to buy the max tickets did so and sold to legit fans at face value . I done this myself and zoomed with fans before the sale to ensure they were legit and would not just go and resell them for profit.

Another interesting thing I saw that community do were some booked the boxes and filled them with fans splitting the cost between them. La Defence arena does mention having options for groups of 10 or more so I have reached out to them for more information on how this works but sadly so far no response. I just wanted to put those ideas out there before tomorrow when the codes come out and say not all hope is lost if fans come together.  Also the arena website does say that a ticket exchange system will be set up at a later date so hopefully there will be opportunities there too. 

As a long time fan who did avail of team Céline tickets back in the day it’s beyond disappointing to see that her new team did not even think of those fans who have been around for decades , signed up to the newsletters etc . Fans shouldn’t have to be thinking outside the box to try get an opportunity to go but here we are .

I agree 100% percent. This is very good marketing plan, as good as the Paris Olympics.  Why they don’t care much about the die hard fans? Cause we’ll get the news and pay for her concerts anyway. They are doing the marketing plan for the general public. I think they did a very good job. 
 

I used to be naive and believe I’m a big fan, so I should be important,  maybe 20 years ago. Now I understand money matters more.  Sorry for the ugly truth.

Bellamy, I think that situation could change if you and Koolan decided to propose yourselves to Sony as an official Celine club. You have a forum with thousands and thousands of users. In fact, Warner Music accepted one from a friend. Maybe yours could be accepted too. For example, you could sell CDs with content from the vault, with Sony taking a percentage of the sales and another part going to improve the forum and for yourselves.

Unfortunately we are too divided to make this happen. But you are not wrong here.

We got the forum, you have the French Les Red Heads who made a lot of stuff happen in the past (also had a whole section during her 2016 or 2017 tour) And you have all the separate fangroups outside this place.

We can't even get together to the Say Yes campaign, or raising money to buy unreleased songs. Let alone help each other to get to opening night for this tour.

We can buy 6 tickets per order. We could easily help each other out but it takes a bit more effort to get things sorted out. Who, when, where etc.

Economist here too. Celine has such broad appeal they don’t need to rely on the extra high willingness to pay of fans like us, especially if it means over-customizing her offering for nerds like us (e.g. adding PMLALS to the set list) at the cost of alienating the average customer.
 

Sure, there cAN be a strategy of segmentation (e.g. private concert for our forum), but the cost benefit ratio (especially with the extreme cost of her leaving the cost any given day) are too high to make that worth it. Or, there could be a strategy of treating us so nicely that other fans are much more willing to pay to be like us (think Hermes exclusiveness for example) but Celine’s 6 years away has created that scarcity in spades (and not like she needed it against such high baseline popularity already).
 

Altogether,  there’s 0 need to try and tailor a product for us, when they get a far higher ROI just activating the average joe to remember the Titanic lady. ESPecially when precisely as Bellamy said above, our WTP is roughly infinite. Team Celine has been ignoring us forever and we’ve proven we’ll keep buying tickets anyway.

If anyone here on the forum can buy tickets in the presale and doesn't need six tickets themselves, I'd be very interested in one in the category you‘ve booked. Ideally, I'd like Gold or Diamond ticket, as near as possible to the stage but I'll take any other category as well. Every date possible.

Céline returning is arguably even more surprising to some people. The circumstances are so exceptional this time that I really wouldn't count it out. If there ever was an occasion worthy enough for JJG to step back onto a stage, this might be it.

The exclusive fan club thing is very common in K-pop or Chinese pop group fan clubs. Those fan clubs are crazy. Need to pay loads of money to prove your loyalty, and divide fans by how much they pay. I don’t think anyone here would like to go down that road.

Yes, this is an excellent idea... if I am lucky enough to be chosen- I will commit to buy 6 tickets and sell the other 4 at face value here.

The group event is a good idea too- I wonder if the red heads are doing something similar...🤔
