16 concert residency at La Defense Arena in Paris in September/October 2026

let’s also be real… she hasn’t performed in 6 years… from now on everyone will treat a Céline show/series of concerts with the real possibility of it being their last chance to see this legend live. One day when she’s gone and hopefully many decades from now, there will still be people who regret not watching her live when they had a chance . I feel that way about MJ still.

Well but I think everyone going shouldn't expect the typical French show but rather a mixed show with her biggest hits in French and English. That's how it's promoted on her website anyway. And I'm more than okay with her doing so, I mean it's celebrating her comeback and singing mostly the big hits that brought her where she is now would be quite symbolic in a way and is understandable for me. I guess the next French shows in the future we will be back to normal with the French setlist

I have a very different view on this. I am feeling the demand is high because many got to appreciate Celine during her absence. Like other members have said some had come to terms with the possibility that she would never be back. There was essentially a sense of loss. So when you thought you had lost someone and they come back, you want to seize the opportunity to see them, because nothing is a given anymore. 

I also do not think anyone would buy tickets if they did not enjoy the music. It is a concert, that's the product. And I think her streaming numbers are okay considering she has barely been in the public eye for the past 6 years. She never really pushed her back catalogue. But there are some achievements we almost tend to downplay. For example, EUS sold 1.5m copies, this is equivalent to over 2 billion streams, which is astronomic for a francophone release - it is just that her fanbase were mostly physical buyers.

Celine never meets capacity numbers in end stage set ups because 1) she uses seated floor plans, rather than general admission standing, and also 2) she doesn’t usually do restricted views on the side of the stage, her seating arrangements always end before the audience gets too much of a restricted side view

It's a one off residency in Paris. They should record this concert on video professionally and release it worldwide.

In a way I get it. But those are the same people who looked weirdly at you when telling them you travelled to Paris for a Céline Dion show. And now suddenly she is all hip and happening and they all wanna go to Paris. And in 2013/2016/2017 they could but they didn't give a flying f.

Her shows were sold out in 2013/2016/2017 though. It’s not like if she manages this time around to sell out.
 

I just think she’s always been popular but the social media make it looks more tangible.

Well basic French people want to hear her French repertoire. I think you don t realise how much they don’t care or even don’t like the US Celine. Nor you realise the cultural impact of her French repertoire (90% coming from JJG though). Normally naturally we would get French shows and that s what French people think they will get I think. It s gonna be tuff for them. I don t know who Celine will deal with that with the shows and setlist. Or she should have planned an English and a French residency.

For me the French fans have been more than spoilt in recent years, more than any other region outside of Vegas, with so many concert dates/tv appearances etc since 2011.

Although I don't understand many of the French lyrics…they have so much more heart, are more melodic, melancholic, and harmonious.

I can sing along to the English ones better, though.

But if I get the chance to see her live, I'll give Celine a frenetic ovation, no matter what language she sings in.

It has been promoted as a celebration of her biggest hits in French & English, if people attend with the expectation that it will be exclusively French then that’s on them for not reading properly. She sold out all her French dates for TCWT & CWT I’m sure this is not the general consensus with all her French fans.

Yes but for the TCWT people didn’t really know what to expect in advance, and, to be fair, the French standards were mostly all in the show.

For the CWT shows, there was the precedent of the 2013, 2016 and 2017 shows, all of which had been wonderful showcases of her French repertoire. There’s a good chance that many people who bought tickets had these shows in mind and were hoping to get something similar (I doubt many of them watched bootlegs from the Québec shows and, in any case, may reasonably have expected something different for France).

I find it so weird that some people feel this way. When I go to see an artist I like, I don’t care what language they sing in. I just enjoy the show as a whole. The only time I got to see Celine in Vegas, when she sang one song in French (just one), I saw a bunch of people get up and leave, only to come back later. That’s insane.

I find it hard to believe that people didn’t know what to expect when paying to see the ‘Taking chances’ world tour.

Celine has never performed an exclusively French setlist in France (according to Google) Therefore a true fan would know exactly what to expect. 
I would much rather the seats were filled by people who love both her repertoire’s & do watch tour bootlegs.
