I don’t believe any of the stories that say she planned to do something but had to cancel last minute, not this one and certainly not Eurovision.

If there’s one thing the diagnosis has given Céline, it’s clarity. She knows what’s going on and has spent these last few years building a blueprint for how to approach her life going forward.

Knowing Céline, I don’t think she would make a commitment and not go through with it, whatever it takes. She would have scheduled everything in order to be as sure as possible to be in perfect condition for the event (so no doing photoshoots if she’s going to the Oscars later), and would have contingency plans that would allow her to quickly reset and power through in case something came up.

This goes for the Paris shows too.

Happy that she is back, of course. Just a few thoughts regarding the promo material, because as a fan I have opinions: Love the new video message. She looks truly gorgeous in every way. Love her outfit and her hair, as well as her face. But this new photoshoot sucks. I don't like the style of these pictures. Also the runes font is weird. Old pics from the Alix Malka shoot would have been a million times better. This new shoot is just bad.

I know we’re really early days with regards to thinking about set lists and what we want on them, but I really, truly would like if she revisited some of her 80s french material for this show… songs like d’amour ou damitie, la voix du don dieu, d’abord c’est quoi l’amour, mon ami m’a quittee and Les chemins de ma maison. Granted, there are other songs in French id absolutely love to hear live for the first time in 30 years, but I really don’t think at any point after the 90s Celine could’ve tackled Prière Païenne vocally, so as much as I wish some songs would be present, im trying to be as realistic as possible lol.

Tbh this really sucks. I’ve been a loyal member of Team Celine since the ’90s… I remember logging onto her website with dial-up internet as a kid…

It would’ve been such a nice touch to give long-time members a unique priority code as a thank-you for years of support. But then again… when was the last time they actually did something for the loyal fans?

Last time i remember she give us something special for the long time fans was in 2016 singing TLBSEPT… i felt appreciated then lol

I feel like most of her 80s songs don't fit her thematically anymore. They were more appropriate for her when she was a teenager. Also we don't really know yet if this is just going to be a greatest hits show or if there will be more of an artistic vision. I would love for her to sing Je chanterai, Cherche encore, and Retiens-moi.

While I agree with some of your sentiment, I will expand that there has definitely been more than that. That entire 2016 tour was the definition of a long time fans show, not just TLBSEPT. Literally stayed on stage the whole show just singing instead of doing costume changes. Dropped like 5 of the usual songs that get dragged around to every French setlist.

Also 2017 singing TCOML, Refuse to dance and Love is all we need, Zora sourit. Singing many rare songs from her own different eras instead of the usual 8 covers. Plus we got live vocals on 6 songs that normally featured playback (IDAN, TC, MHWGO, TR, THLAL, Misled). 

2018 gave us the reprise of CHFIL, a cover yes, but many of us remember fondly from 25 years prior.

2019 getting IYAMT as the old throwback instead of WDMHBN, and not just a quickie chop chop performance but actually giving us the second verse too.

I have a feeling this tour will be mostly hits… in English and French … hopefully if  that’s the case the rest then the rest of setlist can be made up of new songs and lesser known ones… I think this might be the first tour in awhile that won’t include a random cover section…. I’m sure she’ll sing the song from the Olympics because it’s Paris and maybe one other cover from the John Farnham that she said she wanted to do, “Help”… otherwise here’s to hoping she honors HER catalogue.

Well, I feel that way too. Somewhere along the way she became very popular again. I don't know what it is because you don't see it in her streaming numbers. But it feels like everybody wants to attend these shows and suddenly is a fan.

And yes the definition of fan has many layers. But if you have to ask if she will sing or speak English at these shows you just got to stay at home.

She’s always popular in touring and residency show that’s why she can  consistently sold out shows. No questions to that but now we can see the difference between streaming (recording artist) vs concert (touring artist). And we can safely say she’s more on the side of a touring artist. And we can’t say she’s not relevant anymore as some delulu lambs were saying because she can still sold out shows in just minutes. No relevant artist can do that. Mariah is an example of a recording artist as she can’t consistently sold out shows even in christmas shows.

Yeah it's great that she is popular again... but only for her person and not her music. Like you said, there's not a huge increase in streaming numbers.

I fear that these concerts also attracts a lot of nosy people, who are just curious to see how she'll do it, considering her illness. Like people watching a car accident. 😑

I really find it a missed opportunity for the OLD fans that there isn't a separate presale through the fan club.

The other issue I’m thinking of is how AXS will hold up. It’s one thing getting access to the presale, it’s another how AXS will perform with that volume of traffic. Any wrong click and their anti bot software will automatically kick you out. Quite a few hurdles to overcome, being picked for the presale is possibly the easiest lol

I tend to agree as I always felt that the pure music side of Celine s career was not enough relevant but it s a bit exaggerated. Here in France when you talk about Celine you talk about the music. Her cultural impact in France is huge and it s due to her songs which accompany generations after generation. It s a crazy phenomenon. In bars clubs homes her French songs are everywhere even now even with young people and everyone has souvenir whith them. So here when people by tickets it’s to hear the songs. The French songs mainly. 
 

that s why I’m a bit concerned as it will be a residency we will get an international show it looks like and not a French show. Many people will be disappointed here. French do not care to much or even don t like too much the American Celine
