Céline RO Posted April 14, 2026 at 04:59 PM Posted April 14, 2026 at 04:59 PM (edited) I understand all the SPS concerns, but I would honestly be surprised if the show was significantly shorter than 2 hours. Probably around 20 songs and lots of taking and ovations. To be honest, given what Céline is doing (e.g. adding shows on consecutive nights) and communicating to us (e.g. “I will still sing TPOL with all my heart”), I really don’t expect her to appear limited in any way during these shows. I don’t expect easier songs, more lipsync, shorter shows or less moving around. I think there will be a lot of stuff that happens behind the scenes that we don’t see, but Céline is obviously telling us that she will be a true force when she steps onto that Paris stage, everything we’ve come to expect from her and more. Isn’t it incredible how powerful music can be? What’s her most unexpected song you would dream of her performing live? For me, it might be Real Emotion, which never fails to put me in a good mood. And Miles to Go Before I Sleep, which is one of my favorite things to look up on YouTube, that studio session really shows how she understands music. Seduces Me suits Celine's voice perfectly❤️,I love all her performances of this song!! For the most unexpected I would say Halfway to Heaven which I have no idea why she never perform it live, I mean this song showcase Celine's musicality to the max lv!! The way she plays with the saxophone (The great Kenny G!!) is pure enjoyment for me🥹 Indeed, if having a chance to listen to La religieuse, Le monde est stone, I Believe In You, and Water From The Moon live would be more than great, and anything from 1F4T!!! I ADORE this album🥰 1 Quote

I think we also have to bear in mind aside from SPS that she last performed in her early 50s and is now in her late 50s. She would most likely have slowed down a bit and her voice would have changed a bit in that time anyway. 1 Quote
rfkavanagh Posted April 14, 2026 at 07:57 PM Posted April 14, 2026 at 07:57 PM I'd imagine it's quite likely we'll have a few extended interludes during the show to give Céline a chance to catch her breath, etc. - at least at first until they see how things go and how she feels. Presumably they'll have done many full-length run-throughs ahead of time to verify and increase her stamina, but it's still no comparison to the full-on energy and atmosphere generated by 30k people going crazy. Interludes a little longer than the standard wardrobe change ones could be an opportunity for some other kind of entertainment for a few minutes - maybe a chance for dancers/performers/special guests to show their stuff? Pre-shot video segments? Of course I'd rather have Céline the whole time, but it would be an understandable accommodation given her age and her health. I'm really curious to see how it all comes together! 1 Quote
LukeD Posted April 14, 2026 at 08:21 PM Posted April 14, 2026 at 08:21 PM (edited) This will clearly be a greatest hits show. Those of you who are expecting deep cuts are up for disappointment. The tour appealed to the general public like never before. This obviously signals that they will have to cater for the average casual listener rather than the hardcore fans. Not to mention that this had been framed as a greatest hits tour anyway. Enjoy the 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now', 'Because You Loved Me', 'The Power Of Love' medley and be thankful! 😅 Edited April 14, 2026 at 08:22 PM by LukeD 2 1 1 Quote

She herself said in recent years, she could have died due to what she did to overcome her health issues to perform. So, she and her music should be celebrated more than ever from now on, not some other artists as a tribute section… we are so lucky that she’s able to perform again and we are here for her music, show it off Céline. ☺️ 4 Quote

I’ve always felt that apart from her natural desire to cover other people’s songs she loves, it was something to break up the monotony of her usual songs she felt she was “expected” to stick to- mind you the longer the covers stuck around she clearly got bored with them too, so really I think there should be swap outs for songs that can be interchanged nightly or every other night, which is certainly possible but at the end of the day it’s up to her. 2 Quote

Nmj Posted April 15, 2026 at 02:04 AM Posted April 15, 2026 at 02:04 AM As it concerns “cover” songs… there have been a few I’ve actually enjoyed just not the random ones… i prefer the one stand alone ones like “How Do You Keep The Music Playing” and “At 17” even “The Show Must Go On”…. Sing one great cover if you must Cèline and keep it moving 🤣 I don’t think anyone wants 35 minutes of dead people tributes! I will say though tho Bond Medley in 2011 was pretty stellar in the “Celine” show, the staging was also great for that! Quote
