This is just my opinion of course,but I believe that Satuday night was really hard for Celine. That maybe a reason as to why she hasn't responded to Adel's post. Of course teamceline could have done something. Just think, this is the first time that she has been to her palace(as Adele said) ever since she left.I don't know why but she decided to sit right next to Rene's chair.(that must have been painful) During the show it was possible to see that she was really emotional. All her other outings ,she went backstage,took pictures,spoke to the artist... Saturday she left crying. I have a feeling that this one was really really hard

Not even acknowledging the moment happened, yet they post that dog in dresses all the time, and posted about the Olympics for 2 months straight. Now they post that blurry video of TLYM from Memphis… it’s alway one step forward, two steps back from her team/ social pages.

I do not disagree with any of this. It is just that all these missteps seem small to me in the grand scheme of things. So many have been achieved this year!

And then the lyrics of the song that Adele was singing when she came to her… I honestly think that’s what made her emotional and why she was crying when Adele approached, rather than the interaction with Adele itself. There was a lot there.

Celine is the Queen of Vegas. She changed Las Vegas. And everybody followed up to now while Elvis is the King. No one will ever replace that.

 

Adele can be called as Queen but not Queen of Vegas - as this is the title we always see in articles about Vegas Entertainment if it mentions about Celine.

 

I love how she respects Celine and knows the history of this changes. She picked the colosseum because that’s where it all started.

 

I like Adele. She can be the next Celine Dion. History repeats itself lol

 

Celine Dion is the next Barbra Streisand. Adele is the next Celine Dion. And I’m ok with that.

Celine Dion is the next Barbra Streisand. Adele is the next Celine Dion. And I'm ok with that.

I cannot see how Adele can be the next Celine Dion. I can conceptualise a chain of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, and then Adele. So yes, a successor for sure in the sense that she is white woman, with a conventionally pretty voice that is known for singing ballads and has achieved incredible success doing so.

 

But that's where it ends for me. As far as singing talent and performing skills are concerned, Celine is miles better than Adele. And her international impact is unmatched. Of course Adele has other key strengths like songwriting, which reinforces what I said - that she can be Celine's successor, but not the next Celine Dion.

It’s a great thing that Adele is humble enough to praise Celine in such a huge and public way. She’s very much like Celine in that sense. Confident enough in her own talent to praise others… and they both value family and their personal lives much more than their careers.

It’s also good for Adele’s fans to see Adele herself say that she only wanted to perform in the Colosseum because it was built for Celine Dion.

 

Fans of other big divas still sometimes try to diminish Celine’s enormous impact in Vegas… or just try to belittle her achievements in general.

Celine just needed some time to process her emotions. So glad she posted!

 

Hopefully they sing a duet together someday! A Christmas song would be lovely.

 

Adele releasing a Christmas album would be huge. And TAST could use a rerelease with some new songs.
