First time on a real stage on 2 songs, kind of dancing. That s already a good test for her. Step by step. Next time I guess she will have to present us the real stage of her singing voice. Edited by Ajax

I think she could have danced more—it looked like her dress was too restrictive. You could tell by the way she had to bend her knees sideways to move!

Also, she was wearing some insane shoes — the same ones that the models were wearing, I believe.

I NEED that performance dress, cape and all, to be part of her new Vegas show. It is absolutely STUNNING on her. Like... I'm dying omg. Also, loved the remix of I'm Alive and it would definitely work in Vegas. As far as the vocal tracks go, she needs to do what Mariah does with We Belong Together and record a few different climaxes/versions of her songs. Switch them up every night and keep the audience on their toes lmao. giggle.gif

I would have loved if the dress lower cut could have been detachable so that she could have at least been able to remove it and dance to I am Alive, she looked constricted by the dress, we would have had another Star Academy circa 2002/3 dance it would have been lovelier.

I think they nailed both dresses, but the red carpet one was better.

The red carpet one was too floral for me did not fit with the red carpet background wall theme

What an unexpected surprise. I am living for these new arrangements of the classics. Brought new life to the songs.

A little scary that her mic was not even on! You can tell she tested the mic a couple of times towards the end. Must’ve been an error to have it off.

It had an oriental theme that fits with the theme of the show 1001 seasons (a play on words of 1001 nights aka Aladdin fairytale story). I don't think she is going to use that arrangement outside of this show.

Really nice to see her in this "glam" show as an authentic diva... but not pretty sure about the storyline since the documentary... I always feel it is a little bit ridiculous to appear with a track recorded at the best of her vocals.. the first lines with a clear 40s voice... when less than a year ago we've seen you couldn't sing a simple song like Love Again... And I want to believe that Paris was her real voice... but this playback tracks seems funny to me... I wish I'm wrong and she recorded them with the new arragements a few weeks ago.. but... not pretty sure... JLo playback seems a little bit more realistic.. (For sure Jlo no need so much effort to sing her songs...)

For me it's sad because I would love to hear Celine real voice even if its is in lower keys and raspy sound... but real and full of emotion... This mimic shows let me as cold as ice, it could has been and hologram...

Also sorry not sorry... but you give me a Pride playlist and then you go to a country that criminalize LGTBI relations... I know she doesn't go in the name of the country, she goes to a private show of a "friend"... but she should realize all are politics and being there is pinkwashing a country that does not respect human rights and try to be a spot in world's culture and economics only with petrodollars...

This.

The story telling is weird.

It was courageous but her choice to address her voice issues showing her in a very vulnerable moment not even being able to sing a simple song and then showing explaining the effect of the disease on her voice. The conclusion was that she lost it.

The Olympic was totally fair. There is no reason not to believe that she recorded a new version and live was technically not possible.

But now being back after the docu with a playback of her prime days (not even a more recent recording just before the disease) does not make any sense and brings again even more questions.

these are exactly my thoughts. It was great to see her on a stage, but I don’t understand the choice of TPOL. It seems to me that you would start with a less difficult song. I can’t wait to finally hear her live voice.

I wouldn’t take this seriously as all of Céline appearances are special events that mostly required using Pre recorded as this is not a Concert.

You should wait for the concert.

The paris vocals are her voice. What do you mean you want to believe it’s her real voice. It is her voice. It’s not recorded by someone else.

And why would you compare JLo’s to Céline’s track? JLo doesn’t have any illness. Maybe in attitude?

And she doesn’t like politics so I don’t think this should be an issue. As you have said she went there for a special show for a friend. And for sure for Rene. Nothing else. Period.

Sorry not sorry lol #issues

This is not the first time she lips to old studio versions. She was lipping studio versions of All By Myself and MHWGO on French TV shows in 2012. I don't think we should overanalyze her appearances just because of her sickness. Part of these appearances is to test her comeback to the stage. She's not gonna come back just to lip. It makes no sense. And the reason why she is appearing again is because she is coming back. We just have to wait and appreciate the things she's doing.

Also, the part of the documentary that showed her struggles was before she found proper medication and before she started vocal therapy. She came a long way every since.

Maybe she doesn’t like the way her voice sounded in more recent years because of the “compensating” she had to do due to her SPS, and thinks that her current rehabilitated voice is back to its prime condition and so the old tracks are a more accurate representation? Regardless, I think she should have recorded new tracks just for this event, it’s not even that much of a hassle.

She should have performed Eyes on me from Taking Chances, it would have fitted the occasion perfectly with the oriental vibe
