One of my favourite albums of all time and the one that got me into French Céline.

This album is such a vibe, it's nearly impossible to make a ranking, but I'll give it a shot.

10 Retiens-moi - just a gorgeous song

08 Tout l'or des hommes - still the best lead single. Love the video!

06 Apprends-moi - would love to hear a solo (live) performance of the song.

04 Valse adieu - seeing and hearing this song during the 2016 tour was magical!

02 Ne bouge pas - Fun, upbeat song

 

I was really happy Céline revisited this album for the 2016 tour. Unfortunately many were only in a medley, while they deserve to shine on their own. Imagine if she had done a small 1F4T in 2003, where she only performed the album with the 4 types (and they performing some of their own songs). It could have been awesome and so different to her normal shows.

Great representation of a musically adventurous album. Now let's move on to its 00s counter-part, the lyrically adventurous D'elles... a concept album celebrating womanhood.

 

My choices are as follows:

• On S'est Aime A Cause - 12 Points - my favourite French song ever.
  
• Immensite - 10 Points - such masterpiece!
  
• Et S'il N'en Restait Qu'une (Je Serais Celle-la) - 8 Points - the most representative song of the album, well-deserved #1.
  
• Le Temps Qui Compte - 6 Points - excellent lyrics.
  
• Je Cherche L'ombre - 4 Points - I think the song has the potential to shine on stage, would have liked an extended version.
  
• A Cause - 2 Points - I'd like to see this live with a choreography and updated arrangements, the studio version does sound dated now.

What about 2005's On ne change pas? It has a few original songs that we should include.

Sous Le Vent was released in 2000 and Ma Nouvelle France in 2004, respectively. I do not feel that they represent 'On Ne Change Pas' (2005).

I think OSAAC from D'elles had to receive a proper single release and promotion right after Immensite in all francophone markets. It could be a classic by now.

Same goes for Attendre and JNPBD from Sans Attendre. Incredibly strong, meaningful songs - definitely better than Le Miracle, which is good and cute but did not leave any mark.

Especially together with the cool AC remix! I never understood how they would take the effort to record two versions of 1 song (like ANDHC) and then not do anything with them. Besides just a radio single without a video or physical single.

I think cause they moved on to TC and they forgot the amazing album

 

I remember back in a day, Sony only wanted to release Delles in some French Countries, at last minute they released in Europe,

And if I’m not wrong it sold around 700k in the first week

 

TC was released 5 months after

 

With the tour and the end of vegas, they forgot to promote Delles,

12 On s'est aimé à cause - this song we choose as our opening dance at our wedding halfway we switched and danced with our mums. A special memory for a lifetime.

10 Le temps qui compte - love the lyrics. Wish she performed this live.

08 La diva - a bit neglected here. I love the opera fusion with Maria Callas.

06 Je ne suis pas celle - I think this song would be haunting on stage.

04 Et s'il n'en restait qu'une (je serais celle-là) - a shame this number 1 hit seems to be forgotten. The video clip stays amazing.

I have not agreed more with the results of any round! These 4 songs are by far the best for me and represent the album 100%. That said, I think this is the first time that two songs from an album received 0 votes. Well, there is a first time for everything!

 

Ah we are finally moving to one of my favourite Celine albums ever - Sans Attendre. T

 

Easy votes for me:

• Attendre - this song had to be released as single, in France at least. Love the lyrics and the climax. Somewhat similar to PQTME.
  
• Parler A Mon Pere - to me this is the most easy listening song of her entire catalogue. Outstanding replay value, well-deserved hit!
  
• Je N'ai Pas Besoin D'amour - this song had to be released as single too, at least in Quebec. It could have been a classic, like 'L'amour Existe Encore'.
  
• Si Je N'ai Rien De Toi - the best power ballad of this album IMO. Wish she had recorded an English version for LMBTL. It would fit perfectly.
  
• La Mer Et L'enfant - ah the accordion - this song is a prime example of why she needs to feature a range of instruments in her songs.
  
• Moi Quand Je Pleure - so cute! Very catchy, unique and memorable. I would really like to see how it'd work on stage!
