Céline 'covers' made by IA (artificial intelligence)

So I've made a 1998 model and decided to try it on "See You Again" by Charlie Puth. It is tricky because Charlie has this way of swallowing words, but I personally can hear Celine's tone. I hope you do too. If I see some interest, I might do a 1995 French model at some point ^^. Here's the video:

I was a bit surprised that the note came out like this, because it is a much fuller chest voice than Charlie's. It is too bad I cannot isolate the full note in the original song, as Wiz Khalifa and the choir start singing on top of him. That is why I had to cut the song there. But maybe I could use some other lives, or other singer's versions.

On the opposite, I think it is totally respectful. The AI vocals wouldn't mean anything, if they were not tied to Celine, and what she means to us, aka the tree. No one here knows Celine, no matter how you believe you are protecting her. We just have that image of her, and the AI vocals allows me (at least) to imagine her singing them, add something to that image, which is exactly what she does when she gives us her art/heart. To me, it is a way to celebrate her. That is also why I am not a factory of AI songs, I work on them on a lot to get something that brings me emotions.

I can also imagine Celine listening to her old records, being melancholic, but at the same time hopeful. She doesn't need to listen to AI vocals to hear her younger voice.

 

With that being said, I understand your point of view, which is why I don't post those on other threads like the Youtube videos one, because I do not want to push it on people. If you do not like it, just ignore this thread. Let other people enjoy what they want to enjoy...

May I know how do you guys do this AI vocals of singers? Because Mariah’s AI sounds exactly like her so so much! Unlike Celine’s, It’s not yet perfect. I guess the real thing that can’t replicate is Celine’s voice

Mariah actually gives access to high quality recording of her raw vocals for remixes and all. Celine does not, and there is always a process to extract her voice that lowers the quality of the voice fed to the AI. I also believe that Celine has this non-American intonation, way of singing, which is part of her voice. And when we apply the AI filter to other songs, because it takes the intonation of the original singer, it sounds less Celine-esque.

According to wikipedia it was the other way around. Disney hired Celine for a soloversion. But then they decided that BATB should be a duet, because Celine was a no name in the US. Maybe Peabo was the second choice for the duet? Who knows?

YouTube has been flagging my channel and giving me strikes, so I am not sure if I will keep doing this for very long. But I have found new ways to make the AI vocals better. I have uploaded two videos.

Thanks! I was waiting for someone to do a different era Céline singing “Hymne à l’amour”, mainly to confirm just how similar it would sound to what we actually got (tone-wise). SPS-well-treated Céline sounds pretty much the same as 2005-2015 Céline. In fact the 2010 take you made really sounds just like a weaker version of the real 2024 one.

I also tried it on "Water From the Moon", and to me it sounds really good. If you like those Time Machine videos, I can work on a WFTM version that I can post on Youtube. Or if you want me to try other songs, that you believe are worth a try, let me know!

I was listening to a few of these a couple of months back - it's scary (terrifying!) how much better they've got at capturing Céline's voice. Maybe not perfectly for hardcore fans, but certainly enough to fool casuals, and they've even managed to incorporate a lot of her vocal nuances and affectations pretty successfully. Maybe Céline will use it behind the scenes for her next album to ensure she's in perfect voice... (KIDDING! Kind of...)

 

I'm against it all in principle, but I can't deny some of those tracks are pretty enjoyable, and they're the only "new" material to enjoy of late. And in her classic style, to boot.

Well I only listened to one from that list... "Le Ballet" (funnily enough)....and I'd bet the input they used for Celine's voice into the algorithm was the Encore Un Soir album.

I think you did a great job doing an AI of Celine. I think from all AI’s that I’ve listened to on YouTube, your work is much close to Céline’s tone.

 

Can you make an AI of all turned down songs of Celine like “Dreams to Dream”, “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”, “There You’ll Be”.?
