OMG. Celine finally "sings" the song she turned down. I really wish someone could me "From this moment on", "I dont wanna miss a thing" and "Unbreak my heart"

Am I the only one who finds these versions horrific and nothing like Céline at all?! Sure, there are a few tonal adjustments to the vocals that help make them sound like someone doing a fairly basic impression of her singing, but overall they sound nothing like her whatsoever. Certainly nothing I could ever listen to and get any pretense or enjoyment of actually listening to Céline.

 

Who knows how much better AI will get at this sort of thing in years to come, but for now it's only the very, very palest of imitations to me.

Totally agree with you... By now, AI can´t replace Celine´s voice at all.... All of those covers are (so sorry for the creators) horrible!

Most don’t come even remotely close to sounding like her. They sound so artificial and lack her unique essence.

 

Then there are the ethical concerns… How do you think Céline would feel about the use of AI to reproduce such a poor imitation of her voice? Do you think she loves the idea of completely obsessive fans taking her ”likeness” and making videos/audios of her saying and doing things she did not authorize. I tend to think not …

I feel the same... all AI can do is "imitate" her tone... but no way it sounds like her singing. It's just another person with her tone replaced.

AI can't create nothing til now, it can only replace.

 

Some covers are interesting to imagine how Celine would sound... but it's not perfect, and I hardly believe it someday will be...

Unauthorized use by AI is a huge part of the issues that led to the current WGA (which just reached agreement with AMPTP) and, more directly related, SAG/AFTRA strikes. At its extreme, this would include using likeness/voice of actors to create performances rather than actually having the actor perform (which is something they've already done with deceased actors). Even forgetting well known actors, the studios also wanted to be able to scan and use the likenesses of extras, for example, to fill out background and crowd scenes, etc., in perpetuity, without approval by the extra, and without having to pay any residuals.

 

Not a far leap to say the music industry will have to contend with this very soon, too - these AI "covers" are already flouting similar "sound likeness" rights, and it's only going to get worse. New Elvis, Beatles or Sinatra album with entirely new material, anyone?

We really should stop with these horrors. The despair of some people makes me vomit, I prefer never to hear it again at all rather than listen to this enormous s*** created from scratch. It’s not even respectful to herself.

Mainly now, as Céline's struggling with a disease which also affects her vocal cords, so it's quite possible she will never ever sing again - this AI project is not only DISRESPECTFUL but also disgusting!

 

It tells (between the lines) that NOTHING she ever did is enough! THREE Christmas albums aren't enough!

 

It's very sad!!!!

 

And apart from that, how long will it last until others copy these fake recordings and put it out without mentioning that it's fake - and many fans are being screwed! That's unfair and rude!

Finally, a thread I have been yearning for. Thank you for sharing 2 AI Christmas covers. I love listening to songs sung by Celine. And since this trend is spreading, I really hope we can get ones that Celine will never sing, for sure. And may I add an AI cover that I have been replaying:

this is so interesting. Now artists actually don’t even have to go and record new songs, but let AI generate them automatically. They don’t have to do the work anymore and let developers do it for them instead. Wow.

Seriously, that article is a complete fabrication written by an SEO specialist (note the sheer number of times the terms "Kylie", "AI", and "Padam" are repeated for greater Google rankings). It's capitalizing on an AI voice impression that Kylie did for fun during an interview - the video is even embedded in the article.

 

People need to be more skeptical and discriminating when it comes to sharing random articles that have no basis in fact.

Ok, so this article is a bunch of misinformation, sorry guys, I read it fast and I thought it could be true, still I wouldn't be surprised that Record Labels in a near future would create official AI voices models for some of their singers (if not all) in order to save money and speed-up the recording process of an album. I wouldn't be surprised that Mariah Carey would uses it to some extent and maybe even Celine if she has some struggles because of her illness but wants to keep releasing new albums. Yesterday, they showed a news report about the new Rolling Stones album on German TV. And the moderator said that the new album sounds like a mixture of old Rolling Stones songs created by AI.🤭 I think AI will be more used by the music industry in the future, like Autotuning. Edited by comingback

I think my new Celine's AI cover of ''O Christmas Tree'' turned out pretty good (on a side note the lyrics are not the same as the ones from the 2006 Walgreens TV commercial), I really had a hard time to find a version of this song that would fits Celine's voice :
