Del Posted November 11, 2020 at 05:18 PM Posted November 11, 2020 at 05:18 PM As much as Im sick and tired of the song, Because You Loved Me would be the most logical choice. Then You Look At Me would be perfect, too, but we all know that will never happen.Random songs from her repertoire only have a chance in her shows. Even then it's a rare occasion. We shouldn't even be thinking that a random song from her repertoire would make a tribute show. Would I like to be wrong? Absolutely, but I think we need to be thinking what go to song is the one that's going to be picked. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk 2 Quote Instagram: @delphis78

Xpresso Posted November 11, 2020 at 06:37 PM Posted November 11, 2020 at 06:37 PM She might sing You're the Voice. The lyrics would fit but I hope she sings one of HER songs... Quote
guigafs15 Posted November 11, 2020 at 06:45 PM Posted November 11, 2020 at 06:45 PM At this point, I'm so craving for Celine to do something, that I don't mind what she'll sing. Can be BYLM, or The Prayer, or another cover we already listen a thousand times. I'm excited for it. 3 Quote
mirage Posted November 11, 2020 at 07:07 PM Posted November 11, 2020 at 07:07 PM (edited) I know we all should be grateful she still sings and appear on these things. Because she is so busy and she is a mom and she doesn't owe us a thing, yes yes I know. But the amount of people who are happy even if she just sings BYLM.Wow. I don't expect any creative outburst of her anymore. Been there done that. But I'm not quite there yet where I will be happy with yet another performance of BYLM. She can go hug trees and do ballet and skip these opportunities. Edited November 11, 2020 at 07:08 PM by mirage 1 Quote
couldawouldashoulda Posted November 11, 2020 at 07:13 PM Posted November 11, 2020 at 07:13 PM I forgot about the whole “at home” thing. Yeah, I wouldn’t expect an uptempo then, I guess. BYLM is the best choice if she doesn’t repeat the prayer. This isn’t about showing off a song nobody knows. It’s about comforting people in a time of need and celebrate those who are doing the hard work of keeping us well. It’s not about self-promotion. 3 Quote

It's in her very own best interest to tell the world "hey, I'm still around, don't forget about me and my music". She is extremely fortunate with the attention she still gets, that's why she doesn't care to do much social media wise etc., but if she continues like this, she might at some point struggle to attract masses to go and see her shows and admire her. 2 Quote

I don't think so. Celine is always committed to the good cause. She has always been a very socially engaged person and I admire that about her.Celine does not care for publicity and she has nothing to promote. Thus, I hope she will sing BYLM or ISMW. Ok, if that is your impression these days regarding Celine.....I read thousands of thousands of pages in this forum about members whishing that she would promote her as an artist more and especially her new music. I keep my fingers crossed for you Quote

Shamrock_1982 Posted November 11, 2020 at 08:53 PM Posted November 11, 2020 at 08:53 PM Thankful, Thank You, Then you look at me, there are loads of songs for this she could do, but let’s face it she will probably sing something we have already heard thousands of times despite having hundreds of her own songs that we have never heard live, so if there’s ever a time for courage, it’s time we see it 1 Quote
maki_Dion-er Posted November 12, 2020 at 01:49 AM Posted November 12, 2020 at 01:49 AM (edited) "Thankful" is really fitting but I doubt she even remembers this song. From Courage the most adequate are "Courage", "I Will Be Stronger", or "The Hard Way." The last two are my personal favorite for this event. It would be the perfect moment to promote the album while offering tribute to nurses but singing something everyone knows from her is the most obvious choice. Of her hits I would love to hear "A New Day has Come." I hope she doesn't do The Prayer again but really the most important thing is that she looks and sounds great. As much as I'd love her to give "A New Day Has Come" some love again, it really shouldn't be chosen. A song that is gender-neutral is what would work best for an event like this one. At least that's my opinion. Quote

weasley123 Posted November 12, 2020 at 02:22 AM Posted November 12, 2020 at 02:22 AM I think the message in "The Hard Way" perfectly fits for this event. But I think the song is too big to be sung from home. 3 Quote

She can go hug trees and do ballet and skip these opportunities. I personally wouldn't mind bylm... maybe just maybe we'll get the 2nd verse but I'd be extremely shocked. I'm with you on not expecting creative outbursts...so what's the next best? To me, it's live vocals on a non-live song. This is the type of event that most likely will lend itself to live vocals...bylm has been on a track since 2015 minus two performances so if this gives us a 2020 vocal then I'll be more happy with that then i would be IA, courage, rdmh, ttwii, and lcmm...the prayer wouldn't do too much for me but if they somehow incorporate josh and andrea that would be cool. 1 Quote
PuraVida Posted November 12, 2020 at 12:03 PM Posted November 12, 2020 at 12:03 PM She could, but the song is about R.C. It doesn't have to be, and an average listener wouldn't know that. It can be interpreted to mean a lot of things, as with many of her songs. 1 Quote

couldawouldashoulda Posted November 12, 2020 at 03:44 PM Posted November 12, 2020 at 03:44 PM Courage is an incredibly sad song. That's the wrong type of song to sing at a celebration of nurses. No one wants to hear a song about how hard it is to move on from the death of a loved one. "Cause it's not easy/When you're not with me/This world of madness/Goes faster now" Come on! Who wants to hear that at an event like this? Let's Talk About Love would be a great choice! But no one really knows that song - general public wise. That's why, if she's at home, and has to sing a ballad, Because You Loved Me fits the situation best. (Other than The Prayer but since she just sang that at another Covid benefit, I'd hope she wouldn't repeat herself.) Quote
