Not yet. I wonder if other Spotify Singles have later been released to iTunes? I went ahead and downloaded Spotify (there's a month before payment is due for premium), but it would be nice to listen to via Apple or Amazon music.

 

I haven't figured out how to listen to everything from one device in this new world... singles, b-sides, DVD-mp3s, digital downloads, streaming, and a house full of every way to listen to them.

Yeah, I just don’t do that whole streaming thing. But then again I don’t care about she does on the charts either. I just like to listen to the music. She seems to be selling out her concerts just fine without the streaming. Also, this album has already sold more than LMBTL hasn’t it? There was a ticket bundle, sure, but people had to actually redeem it for it to count.

I just leave the spotify on with Celine's playlist on my cell phone while I'm working, I leave it on the minimum volume I listen while I'm working.

Do this, we will help her, if she does well in the streming, more new songs she will record.

The whole Courage era changed my perception on streaming and how important it is for artists. I now look at each stream on Spotify or Amazon as a little vote for that song.

I love this little stunt, what a nice surprise. I hadn't heard about Spotify Singles before and find it a nice idea.

It's fitting to choose Imperfections as the side track, a gentle reminder of the song she's supposedly promoting... hum.

 

Her voice is in top shape in the Wicked Games recording. She says she wanted to respect the original version of the song (as if she didn't ALWAYS do that) but her singing add so many things. Alas, IMO, it's a bit 'too much'. Don't get me wrong: she masters the vocals, her low register is awesome (and i'm thrilled that we got to hear it more often in this era) but I feel like she's overdoing it sometimes, too many voice modulations, mannerism (not horribly pompous like Lettre de Georges Sand was). It makes me cringe a little. It's like a parody of herself (minus the belting).

But it is beautiful and perfectly done. Yes, effortless (dancing in symmetry...).

 

There's a HUGE Lana Del Rey vibe in it! How cool would it be if Lana were to write and produce a song for Celine?

Please, Lana, make a whole caliornian summer pop folk album for Celine. You can call Calexico, Angus & Julia Stone, Herman Dune, Ray Lamontagne, James Vincent McMorrow and Lissie for a little help.

As someone else said, more streaming = more new music. At the moment fans aren’t showing the demand. You all listen to her everyday and streaming tracks this

 

I wonder how many monthly listeners she really has in the world if they would all stream.

 

A few years back I was totally against streaming but now I get it and the impact it has for the artist.

That's it. Even if everyone signed in this forum would stream her all day long everyday, it would have zero impact.

And 99.99% of her audience doesn't come here.

So urging us continously here to stream her won't change a single thing.

There are many ways of streaming. It's true older people don't stream much on Spotify, but they are more active on YouTube and Facebook. Actually Celine's numbers on YouTube are much better than any other veteran artists. Also on Facebook she has more followers than Madonna or Mariah, while on Instagram she is behind. They just need to promote her on the right place. But yes, definitely she will never be able to compete with younger artists.

She did some amazing covers back in the time, one that still blow my mind is "When I need you",

no one can come close to her version.

 

With this new cover I want to love it, but she doesn't deliver it to me, something isn't working and she is trying

too much to sound different. Still haven't heard Imperfections, this song has a long "shelf life"

and at least she and her team understand that, great they keep promoting it.

 

I'll enjoy more hearing her trying new things with songs she recorded from her recent work

but even with no new arrangements, I'm sure that I will enjoy it, to hear songs like Change my mind or Perfect goodbye

in live versions only as audio.

Yes, there are my ways to stream in general, and I do use Youtube frequently. I don't get your point, because I can't find Celine's version of Wicked game on youtube, and I was asking about this song specifically. What am I missig here? I feel stupid now....

the sale of physical albums fell a lot, the industry is investing in Streaming and Downloads, some countries do not even sell more physical CDs, that's why Celine's sales drop, its audience in real do not listen to music on the internet.

I was at the Hollywood Bowl when Lana sang with Chris Isaak and it was magical.

 

I still prefer Celine’s version. Very impressed!

Why is it so difficult for people to understand the concept of a Spotify exclusive? This isn't some kind of a benevolent gift you know. It's marketing. It's what Spotify needs to do to convert free users, finally turn a profit, and remain competitive in an increasingly competitive streaming market. Of course it's not going to be on Apple / iTunes / Youtube / GooglePlay / Amazon / whatever platform or medium of choice you happen to like. That would defeat the entire purpose.

 

By the way - awesome to hear her in the lower register, I just wish - whenever she does covers - that she'd do something of her own with it. Her tendency really is to mimic the original performance to a T (which is its own challenge, but ultimately not particularly interesting).
