aliceshields Posted February 26, 2020 at 08:43 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 08:43 AM Rockabilily... Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music, dating back to the early 1950s in the United States, especially the South. As a genre it blends the sound of Western musical styles such as country with that of rhythm and blues, leading to what is considered "classic" rock and roll. Some have also described it as a blend of bluegrass with rock and roll.[4] The term "rockabilly" itself is a portmanteau of "rock" (from "rock 'n' roll") and "hillbilly", the latter a reference to the country music (often called "hillbilly music" in the 1940s and 1950s) that contributed strongly to the style. Other important influences on rockabilly include western swing, boogie-woogie, jump blues, and electric blues.[5]Defining features of the rockabilly sound included strong rhythms, vocal twangs, and common use of the tape echo;[6] but progressive addition of different instruments and vocal harmonies led to its "dilution".[2] Initially popularized by artists such as Wanda Jackson, Billy Adams, Johnny Cash, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Bob Luman, and Jerry Lee Lewis,[7] the influence and success of the style waned in the late 1950s; nonetheless, during the late 1970s and early 1980s, rockabilly enjoyed a major revival. An interest in the genre endures even in the 21st century, often within a subculture. Rockabilly has left a legacy, spawning a variety of sub-styles and influencing other genres such as punk rock. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockabilly 2 Quote Music is a personal response to vibration... mirage Posted February 26, 2020 at 08:47 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 08:47 AM Same here. I like the stripped down version, but a real acoustic or orchestral version would been better. I'm sooo in love with Wicked Game, her voice if she insists on doing covers, she should add this one. Make it special, sit on a chair. I wonder when they recorded these songs. There was some kind of promo video for something when they showed her in studio recording the song Courage, and if I'm correct she had the hairstyle like she had with the behind the scenes for Apple I have a doubt about the new version of Imperfections: is it a completely new recording or just remixed music with the original vocal track? 2 Quote

A new day... Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:10 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:10 AM OMG! The Ross & Rachel song!! Her cover of Wicked Games is amazing. Since she loves to cover songs, she should think of doing a kind of Backyard Sessions like the ones Miley Cyrus did with an acoustic setting. It's so soothing. Not a huge fan of the new Imperfections track though. 4 Quote

She was in NYC for short promo. And I'm all in for your idea of Celine singing the song while sitting in a chair! Remon Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:49 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:49 AM I have a doubt about the new version of Imperfections: is it a completely new recording or just remixed music with the original vocal track? Yeah I thought the same... I’d say original vocal track. Wicked game is outstanding. Although it’s been covered a lot the song is still good. And her voice is soooo smooth, silky and sexy. Really like it! Quote
Tom_London_Fan Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:53 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:53 AM Hi! So I have a mp3 version of the song. If anybody's interested, let me know. In PM maybe? Yes please! Quote
Tom_London_Fan Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:55 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 09:55 AM Managed to hear Imperfections on the Spotify app (I use Apple Music)...had to listen to several Diana Ross and Lara Fabian songs to get to it on shuffle but I wasn’t complaining. It’s very chilled out and she sounds great...but it certainly doesn’t take the song to a new place. Excited to hear Wicked Games. Quote
Modesta Posted February 26, 2020 at 10:02 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 10:02 AM I hope they release the songs on other platforms too. I quit using spotify because someone hacked my account and changed the password three times in two months! I changed all the passwords of my other accounts that were in any way connected to my spotify account but it just kept happening. Really annoying and a bit scary too. Quote
Celine Fan 77 Posted February 26, 2020 at 10:18 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 10:18 AM Yeah I thought the same... I'd say original vocal track. At first I thought the same, but if you listen carefully you'll notice some differences. Now I'm nearly convinced that it's a new vocal track lol Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)

meanttofly Posted February 26, 2020 at 10:35 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 10:35 AM Imperfections sounds a little boring to me, especially since the bridge "they're part of me..." is not there. Wicked Game sounds perfectly soultry with her low register. It really deserves attention. I hope it lands in YouTube 1 Quote

Taking Chances Posted February 26, 2020 at 11:46 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 11:46 AM I wish she did an acoustic version of Flying On My Own instead, but I'm sill so surprised this happened. Please, make more stuff like this! I wonder if these "Spotify Singles" are gonna be available anywhere else, or if it's an exclusive Spotify thing. It sort of seems that way. Wicked Game is still amazing though! 3 Quote
Xpresso Posted February 26, 2020 at 11:49 AM Posted February 26, 2020 at 11:49 AM Wicked Games being so good, they could release Courage 2 with Wicked Games as first single! Yup, another cover but it's soothing and with no screaming. Quote
