New Las Vegas residency show!

Hotel opens in June. Zedd and Tiesto already have tickets on sale for June. And Vegas in general is set to open in June. Even if Celine doesn't have dates in June I'd bet their goal is to open this year if not immediately in June.

 

Personally, if that's the case I probably won't go for opening night. Even though I get my 2nd vaccine this weekend I'd still prefer things to calm down a bit. I'm also hoping the venues will require guests be vaccinated, at least for a little while.

 

They won’t be performing in The Theatre though which isn’t open until October. They will be in the clubs

If I’m not mistaken, two of the shows she has up coming at the end of June are in Israel.. where vaccination numbers have been nothing short of insane. I’m talking like over 55% of the country totally vaccinated.. if they could succeed in getting over 70% of the population vaccinated by the time her concert is scheduled, I could see them running the show. But who knows? Total herd immunity in my opinion will only be achieved after at least 85% of a country is vaccinated, but each country seems to have different plans, the US now sitting at 26.3% of the population fully vaccinated, things will probably progress a lot faster now than they have previously... whether for better, or for worse. Let’s not forget the courage tour next year is only for Europe, so it’s not really a world tour so to speak, so I can still see her starting this residency in early 2022.

 

And she still has to finish the North American leg.

Something unfortunately tells me no. After a few people had mentioned an apparent cancelled South American leg (don’t know how true that isn’t, but wouldn’t surprise me) I kind of knew that they won’t announce any more legs or shows, especially now that the Vegas residency is coming... and it’s funny, cause Aus and NZ are probably the safest places in the world to do a concert in right now lol

I'm super excited about this new show (if we guess it right of course)! Though I hope Céline will still continue her world tour and visit other regions of the globe (Asia/Oceania, South America,...) if it had been planned before.

I’m optimistic about this future show, I know TC has let us down countless times when it comes to shows/setlists but I feel for her Vegas return they will have something up their sleeves. They already know that it can’t be the same as the “Courage Tour” because with it being so soon after it, people will want an incentive for seeing her again, after touring the world and especially North America. So as Alex_Incognito said, personally I feel as it will have a “theme”, I think Celine knows it needs to have something spectacular in the vein of “A New Day...” again, maybe not cirque but something spectacular and visually stunning again, at this point they know they can’t offer CWT part 2 or the old school orchestra feel. So I for one, am ready to move on from the neglected “Courage” era to hopefully something that will further cement her legacy as one of the most disciplined and entertaining, entertainers in the world. It feels kind of strange to announce a New Vegas chapter during a pandemic and when there still is a would tour to finish. I am not against Vegas, but it feels like she just left.

I think the problem is, were the pandemic not an issue (this contract was probably signed in early 2019 if not late 2018), then the CWT would’ve ended a solid couple of months ago... even if they added a Asia/Oceania leg, she probably would’ve still finished before Christmas... which is sort of the issue. BECAUSE of the pandemic they need to open as soon as possible to make money they may have already lost, and yet simultaneously it’s clashed with the Legend performer as well as the countries overall state... not an easy situation to be in

Don’t know where to post this, but I today I was taking a ride with a friend and he has such great speakers in his car and we were listening to several Celine Dion songs and were singing along loudly and I suddenly heard sounds in her songs I never heard before and esspecially her low voice in wicked game was so beautiful low and on me change pas sounded so beautiful. And rediscovered falling into you..she should add that song to her setlist!

I get her not wanting to disappoint fans, but honestly she should’ve just cancelled this tour last year as the pandemic began, and eyed down another possible tour in the future when her Vegas plans allowed for it. A contract is a contract, she or anyone else didn’t expect this new reality we live in, but it happened, people would and should definitely understand when an artist of Celine’s caliber plans our future plans years in advance this stuff can happen.

I don't think so.

They were supposed to, think those would happen at the end of this year and beginning 2022.

But with all the postponed shows, I guess that these countries will be part of her 'summertours' like she did the last years.

 

I 'like' that something is happening after a whole year of silence.

Still not sure how I feel about Las Vegas, I wouldn't mind if it took another 5 years before her comeback.

 

For me this now feels like the most important thing in Celine camp.

The Courage tour feels like dead to me, and I hope that they will find a way to refresh it and make it as important as her new residency is now.

Celine herself doesn't have much say in this. She works for AEG who is her concert promoter. If they have this new resort they've spent millions/hundreds of millions? building and promoting, and they need her to open it, they'll schedule the CWT around when they want her in Vegas. Celine may say, "I'm the boss," but in reality, she needs to please her concert promoter.
