Can't someone ban that disgusting ignororant person already? The last few pages have been so unpleasant to read to say the very least. I can't believe such prejudice and disrespect are being tolerated here.

Btw, Maki_Dion-er, I apologise I got one of Scielle's reponses mixed up with yours about her taking a pandemic-induced break from ballet.

Just as you speculate she stopped ballet because of COVID...what evidence did you have for that? Turned out to be factually wrong as she said in the interview that you listened to several times that she was still doing ballet halfway through the "Covid moment" up to that point.

Huh? I don't see how my supposition that she could have stopped for logistical, covid-induced reasons "turned out to be factually wrong" based on what she said? All I hear is she stopped part-way through covid. The two statements aren't mutually exclusive. She could well have stopped because whoever she was working with wasn't available (iirc from social media at the time, I think Naomi was in Quebec for part of lockdown, but it seems she and fam have sold their LV house and relocated to BC since, so perhaps she was busy figuring out her life and not available for daily zoon ballet sessions). Or, without the routine of shows, the post-show dance cooldown simply wasn't something Celine needed as much as when she was working. Who knows, all we're doing is speculating here.

It's all very sad you know.

She seemed so buzzed for everything here (I have never seen this extended version of the interview)

Great interview, I hadn't seen it either. Thanks for sharing.

I'm remembering a French interview from about the mid 90's where she mentioned she started working out & stretching because of bad back pains but that it didn't help her so she stopped because she was getting too many muscles & she didn't want that lol. She said she went to see a specialist and he told her that the muscles on the back of her legs were "too short compared to the length of my thigh which means they're pulling on my lower back." Does anyone recall this interview? I have it saved on my computer from an Instagram video uploaded with English translations.

Maybe whatever is happening now really is due to old back issues.

This some true Celine fan investigatory work -- nice job! :-D

If the pandemic didn't stop her in Canada from doing ballet, why would it stop her in Vegas? She doesn't need a partner or instructor to do the steps she knows or continue on her own, and even if so she had Vegas ballet contacts / could easily acquire them.

She was already doing ballet in lockdown after her shows had cancelled. She cleary was doing dance exercise during lockdown, and then stopped suddenly. It's possible she didn't feel like it, or it's possibly there was something that prevented her that she didn't want to disclose.

It seems odd to give up something that is giving you such joy during a very rough and/or less structured time like COVID.

And since new variants of COVID are upcoming…like the new Delta 2.0 variant…I don’t know what is gonna happen and if next year will be free of covid. I am afraid no…

We will never be free of Covid. It will stick around like the flu.

Sure. All of those are possibilities. As is the possibility that she may have stopped simply because the change of routine associated with covid. None of what she said negates that.

And I don't know if covid has necessarily been so rough for her. I think it may have actually been a welcome, albeit unplanned, break.

Obviously it's been an incredibly tough time for many, but it's been the very opposite for some of us as well. I, for one, have loved working remotely and seeing the continent while at it. It's been a blessing, and I dread going back to pre-covid routine.

Like I said, if she stopped touring in spring 2020 and was doing ballet at least until fall 2020, there was nothing "pandemic-induced" that stopped her from being able to do ballet. There's no reason she couldn't have done it in Vegas, and she certainly didn't say that was a reason.

Maybe she welcomed the break...in which case she would be happy to fill her time even more with something that gives her joy: like ballet.

And you're right, the pandemic has affected everyone differently and has had some pluses amidst its minuses.

I didn't necessarily say "not being able to" though. Not wanting to, is more like it. Plenty of us have changed our routines over the past 2 years, why can't she?

FAITH

TRUST

LOVE

With a little faith

Just a little trust

If you believe in love

Love can move mountains

Believe in your heart

And feel, feel it in your soul

And love, love can

Love can move mountains

Here’s the Instagram link to the night she came back after she threw her back out and was wearing the corset - telling the story of her back and trying to get out of the car etc. I know we don’t know if her current spasms are anything to do with her back but I do find this interesting - credits to the owner:

I pulled my back last week and it was exactly like how she described there. Every tiny move was like a torture... Fortunately I am like 85% healed now, but still it takes time. Whatever Celine is going through now....Sending her my positive vibes and prayers!!

Most people don't stop something that brings them joy, and joy which is visible to other according some fans, suddenly, for no reason. You said pandemic-induced...and I see no logical "inducement" from the pandemic that would have stopped her from doing ballet. The reason doen't have to be logical; she could not feel like it and that would make sense. It just raises an eyebrow, or could. Doesn't necessarily mean she is hiding something, but it's also not *nothing*.

If she said she didn't have a proper studio in Vegas, to give an example, then it would never even merit a second mention.

Nice little bit from Deborah there, thank you!

It makes me miss her - and I love they played a blurb of ANDHC for a change

Also in the Un An Avec Celine documentary by Julie Snyder, she says she have back problems and tells the documentary crew to take care of their back as they go under the heart shaped stage.

Thank you. I was looking for this interview.

If this is indeed the issue and Celine is having these spasms because her muscles in her thighs are too short compared to the length of her thighs which is resulting in pulling on her lower back, I wonder if there is a treatment for this?

Whatever the issue may be, I do believe this is a lower back spasm and not vocal related. Celine has had plenty of vocal rest since the pandemic, so it really wouldn't make sense if this was a vocal issue. It's not like she would be full out singing in rehearsals, so I really do think this is a lower back problem.

Thank you for bringing up this interview anyways. I was looking for it everywhere. :)

Why are you so adamant in thinking there's something to dig up here? Since you say it's not nothing. No one needs to raise an eyebrow!

She decided she wanted to stop, and that's it!

"if she said, blabla..." but the thing is: she doesn't owe us any explanation! She wanted to stop, and so be it! Whether she got bored with it, had already physical problems, hadn't have time and opportunity anymore, hadn't a teacher available and didn't have the willingness to do exercices all on her own, wanted to just chill during lockdown, etc.

There maybe a ton of reasons why.

Fall 2019, I took sign language lessons. I loved it. I did exercices everyday, teaching myself new words everyday on top of the official lessons I got from an Hearing Impaired person (there's a lot of great videos and syllabus on line - at least for french sign language). But I didn't like the teacher. Then Covid hit and we had to do lessons via Skype.

Then the non-liking of the teacher grow stronger.

So I quit.

Not saying that's what happened with Celine. Just an example of something bringing you Joy that you get fed up with.

She does as she sees fit, and basta! It's her personal life.

I sometimes complain about her career choices, 'cause I'm here for the artist. What she decides to do with her personnal life is none of our business.

Bro, I don't care whether Celine does ballet or not. She's not my child, she's a grown adult. But if something relates to her physical health and fitness, then it is worth bringing up if her physical health and fitness are the reasons she is not performing. These are public interviews and press releases she gave.

Yes, there could be many reasons why. And included in those list of reasons is there was something deeper going on even before November. Not likely, but a small chance.

One silver lining is that Good Morning America can play clips of Celine's songs and high notes and remind everyone just how great Celine is!

But that Deborah interview from 2019 does not show Celine looking her best, I wish they would leave that out. Seems Deborah is the new Celine whisperer, she has the "Celine beat" on the news

Yes, I don’t think she’s ever looked worse in an interview. And she didn’t have to look that way, the makeup and tan are mainly to blame.

Anyone else think that her spasms may not be related to anything she’s experienced in the past? It might just be something totally unexpected in a random part of the body, not necessarily her voice or back. There might not have been any underlying issue, at least that’s the sense I get from the tone and wording of the statement she/TC released - that they were taken totally by surprise.
