Celine Surprise Project: edgy photoshoot for CR Fashion Book

Methinks there are a few types of art... The example you showed is a reference to Classic art, but there are a few other subcategories under the umbrella of the word “art”. She’s just trying on a new hat, so to speak - which is not newsworthy, but certainly NOT “not art”.

:giggle:

The art in those pictures comes from the fake cardboard Greec statue ? The Vegas surrounding ? Or maybe the beautifull cocktail dress ?

All that combine make those pictures the epitome of bad taste. At that time, even Annie Horth was upset and desassioted publicly from Celine and this photoshoot.

Honnestly :wtf:

I really hope that the craziness, the creativity she gives us with her fashion will show on the album.

But seriously I'm a bit afraid that the 'music management' of her will screw things up.

In my opinion they did during the live event, carpool karaoke, and with FOMO.

Yes, she is in the media every time with her fashion, but that shouldn't be the main focus.

And who is responsible for the MHWGO picture they use to promote the 'Courage World Tour'

She showed more courage with the leather harness with spikes on top of the Eiffeltower than she is with the promotion poster of the Courage tour.

It's great she has a young hip styling team around her. Now she needs to surround herself with a younger music management team.

All I can do is roll my eyes. My interest as a Celine Dion fan is fading hardcore. The upcoming tour and album better be epic beyond words. Otherwise, some of you on here may be getting some of my collection.

fans: "Celine isn't passionate about music"

Celine: "when you're starting to listen to your own song there's something wrong"

I love her

and here's the music extract that they use at the beginning.

I didn't know ABM had classical music in it, no wonder it's timeless.

That's really cool and really well thought out that they used the same song that inspired ABM, one of her most iconic songs (along with a few others) as a throwback, in a way, for the intro to this video. Somewhat brilliant when thinking about fashion as art and being inspired by the past. And bringing into modern times.

Haha why do her photoshoots evoke such dramatic feelings?

Allow her to experiment. It's not like her job is a model and she's only doing one photoshoot ever six year. Then there would be more weight to each of those few times... wait what?

LOL, big lol :P And I suppose that taking pictures with a selfie stick making distorted proportions between her head and the rest of her body is something pretty accurate with reality. LOL!! :D

At least in that greek style dress she looked beautiful. In most of the outfits and looks she worn in Paris she looked sinply ridiculous :bye:

Art is subjective. Period.

No one can say something is art while another isn't. You can have opinions on a piece (fashion, painting, music, photography, etc) but that's all it is, an opinion, and it's no more correct than someone else's.

Ah, well, that’s disappointing for a surprise. I mean, yes, of course, she can do whatever she likes, I’m glad this is making her happy, but I couldn’t care less about fashion and am not interested at all.

And, ugh, I actively dislike Celinenunu, and it has nothing to do with gender neutrality. First, those are clothes for rich babies. (Hello, $44 for a onesie when you can get six onesies for $15 at Carters?). And she’s sending the message that gender neutral = boring black and white, which is a poor message, IMO. Most little kids like bright colors. And those skull onesies remain the creepiest baby clothes I have ever seen. WTF? Skulls on baby clothes?? Super creepy.

And to be honest - so are the designers of Nunununu

Hear hear!!!

Celine found a way to become cooler than ever with fashion. I would have never imagined that a few years ago. Im totally fine with that even if im not so much into fashion. I love her photoshoots. She is being experimenting lots of new things through that and it's cool. I'm proud of her.

Now of course i want new music and I just hope that all this cool energy would translate into her music...being fierce, taking risks and experimenting with music as well. She keeps saying she has nothing to prove anymore. Its time for her to show us the real meaning of that. A cool project in terms of her music...A real new direction would be so cool! Not just one song, a whole album!

She may have "nothing to prove" anymore in music, but with this "careless attitude" she's just proving that she's proving nothing at all anymore :innocent:

So she's doing exactly as she said. She's making new music for her fans and the fun of it, not chasing after hits as heavily as she used to.

Listen, I would love more from her as I'm sure all fans would, but if she doesn't want to do more to promote her new music then why continue with this insistence that she has to do more. She doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to, it doesn't mean she's lazy or uninspired, she's just at a point where she wants to take it easy and have a good time. I wish she would change up her set lists more but maybe she needs new people to convince her to do so, or perhaps she feels this is what she has to do. There're so many reasons for things being that aren't about laziness.

Oh please her and her team have been trying to “chase a hit” since 2004 their just clueless in every sense of the word on how to make it happen....She tries to sound like Sia when Sia already did it, she tries to sound like Adele when Adele already did it. She waits to collaborate with Ne-yo after his popularity fizzled compared to previous years, she continues to record at least 2 cover songs on each new album, she hasn’t had a great music video since ages with the exception of “Taking Chances”, prior to that the last great music video was for GBTSW which should’ve never even been a single in the first place but that’s a topic for another time lol.

Point is, don’t let Celine fool us, she may not be desperate for a hit but BELIEVE me she wants one.

Honestly she doesn't need to be someone else she just needs to stay herself

that shows some big lack of confidence regarding her musical career. They might also delay her album

at least it seems so.

I don't nessesarily want her to have another hit no matter what.

I want her to evolve musically (so she doesn't keep on wasting her voice on half good songs and sloppy production). And if it turns out great I wish it reaches as many people as possible so her musical creativness gets recognised by the masses. And if she then gets hits from that it would be a bonus.

I hope she will do interesting things + delivering feelings

but who would she ask advices from? Pepe?:)

All is hush and secrets regarding her new album.

Well that's what I said. She's not chasing after hits as heavily as she was, I didn't say she didn't want one. That's how I interpret her "I have nothing to prove", it's not to say she doesn't want her new music to be successful or that she isn't trying at all.

Oh please...

And who said in my post that I want her to chase hits again? I never said that, not yesterday, not a single time since I'm a fan here. I couldn't care less about her having hits or not today, but that's completely totally different than not entering the recording studio to release a new English album each every 6 years now, which was the point of my post.

My concern is her lack of interest in releasing new songs, and from an artistic point of view above all. That has nothing to do with chasing hits in the radio, sorry

Yes I'd want her to do "more" or releasing albums. But that "more" part keeps coming in the form of hundreds of shows and marathonian residencies in Vegas and now a tour that's already packed of dates only in North America. You don't say anything about this incessant insistence with her performing activity? :whistling:

You say she's at a point where she "wants to take things easy" with her show setlist and all. Well, has it ever been any different? :whistling: But for the extensive rehearsals that lasted 6+ months for the A New Day show in Vegas, has it ever been "not easy" with her setlists? :innocent:

Your original post I responded to was about how she's "not proving anything at all". And if you're talking about her proving herself then thinking you're talking about the level of success of her new music is a logical conclusion . But okay, you don't care about her having hits, you also don't care about her performing that much. All you want is new music, fast.

Celine says she doesn't want the same fast paced career she had (yeah she contradicts herself at times, especially since she jumped straight into a WT after Vegas again), she doesn't want to release an album every 1 or 2 years. That fits into the whole not feeling she needs to prove herself, which was my original point.

And yet she's released 3 albums in 6 years, plus the 4 lone songs she released since 2016.

She is still releasing albums regularly. So your statement, "My concern is her lack of interest in releasing new songs" is wrong. If she had no interest we wouldn't have anything new from her.

The new music is there, you're just unhappy with the time it's taking in-between English albums (which completely ignores her French album which is still an album for which she took time in a studio to record ). But again, she's said she's not interested in keeping the same pace as before so there's nothing anyone can do about it. Continuing to complain and acting as if Celine is this careless person just because she isn't releasing music as fast as you want her to is pointless. Shes not going to change things unless she feels like it.

My comment about "taking it easy" wasn't about her setlist, it was about the promotion and release of her music. I mentioned the setlists because it's something always talked about on here and something I do agree with, and according to what she said in April she also agrees. We'll just have to wait and see if she does do anything different. At the very least getting rid of the Prince Medley.

What do I say about her incessant performing activity? Uh, what is there to say exactly? She does what she feels like. What can one say?

"No, Celine, no more performing, go rest and take a break from making money. A few of us over on the Celine Dion Forum don't want you to sing anymore...unless it's for a new English album". Maybe someone should have yelled something out to her during BST :hmm: or you know what? someone should have told her to take a break at the facebook Q&A in April :innocent:

and again for releasing music it's not really up to her to release , it's mainly sony music's decision, and we should probably write or do a petition and send to sony for them to do music video for Celine....................

this topic should just change to Celine's on cover of CR fashion book magazine instead of surprise project.... ET just made it like something surprising lol

That's it. The many contradictions she exposes when speaking about her career and the pace she wants to take things at- Something in her speech is not transposing exactly to the non-stop performing activity she follows :innocent:

I think that Céline admires Sia and Adele because in a world full of singers sexualizing themselves, Sia and Adele manage to stay classy yet modern. Céline probably wants that for herself and sees that as her ideal self. Therefore, she tries to copy them.
