Celine Surprise Project: edgy photoshoot for CR Fashion Book

Im sick of this fashion obsession .. happy for her but seriously , music is vibrations feelings emotions, while fashion is superficial character projection .. I just want a tiny bit of infos regarding MUSIC. There is no balance it's all fashion always maybe the timing is wrong since we are all craving and expecting new music and everytime she has the spotlight on she just never say anything about her as a musician

 

I totally understand what you are saying. The fashion thing isn't for me and I do find it to be superficial in a way that I would not have said was characteristic of her. I have always admired her because she somehow stood out above just being a celebrity. A lot of the things she has done recently have been very cliched to a degree it feels like she is becoming a parody of herself.

 

As I have said several times already though, I think she is still on a journey following the few terrible years she had and still seems to be trying to cope with it all. This is not a reinvention but a phase on the way to where she is going. That is why I have stuck in there, I understand why she is trying new things. I just wish there was some more structure to her career for me to follow as a fan. It is what we were accustomed to after all.

 

It is great if she can have some fun with fashion. But she is a singer and that is still what she does best and I for one miss that. It is not wrong to feel like that and if you are totally ok with everything going on then that is great for you, but not everyone feels that way.

Trust me, in 2-3 months time you will be inundated and satiated with music, everyone’s acting as if shes said the albums coming March 2022... for those who dont care about anything other than music, your time is coming, patience is a virtue

 

The right to complain or want new music is completely fine, but its when it gets to the stage of calling her lazy or saying shes changed negatively or just trash talking what she does in some sort of fit because its not what *you* wanted. I became a fan of all Celine things way back in 2006, i for one am excited and am happy when she does fashion related things, more or less anything excites me when its Celine related. Shes coming with a brand new world tour in a month and an album soon following, you’ll hear nothing but this new music for however long the tour lasts, but please, let people enjoy the fashionista without raining on our parade

In addition to my previous bible post, let me rephrase the "demanding" aspect of this discussion: I for one wouldn't be as "demanding" or the kind of "naive fan who's always waiting for new music",

 

1) If she wasn't taking 6 years now between each English albums nowadays, and most of all

 

2) If she wasn't performing as many crazy number of concerts as she does, compared to the lack of new music she delivers these days Please let me put some emphasis on this, because there's a HUGE gap difference between the number of shows she does as a singer and the scarce music albums she has released since 2003 *especially in English*.

 

Hadn't she performed over 1,200 shows since 2003, and particularly over 500 of them during the period 2011-2019, in which she has ONLY released ONE English album, I wouldn't be saying what I'm posting now.

 

There's too much of something, and too little of another. She seems to have lost all interest in putting new music out, but she keeps increasing her performing activity like crazy (and only to offer clone shows one after another, with little artistic evolution may I say).

 

So that's basically the origin and the root of my "disappointment" here. I just can't understand her incessant activity and obsession with performing shows like a crazy machine, but barely no interest in recording new music for years and years and years. My disappointment has a ground

I actually don't think she's that interested in music, sadly. Heard her say recently something in the lines of "I don't sing for me anymore, I do it for them". To me that explained a lot about her seemingly lack of interest in music and developing music wise. She knows she's blessed with this incredible voice and perhaps feels a bit obliged to share it with the world (but rather do something else, at least at this time in her life).

Fashion has taken over her career for sure. I want to keep my faith on her and the SINGER she is (once was?) but...

 

Yes she's touring soon, yes she's supposedly releasing a new album (which never seems to come), but is she really interested in this thing (music) anymore, or is she just doing for the sake of it ($$$)???

How funny now she loves photoshoots. I remember a time where she didn't liked them because it took too much time, so they did 1 big shoot with a lot of different pictures so that they could use them for 1-2 years.

 

I think it was somewhere during the LMBTL shoot she said something like that, in Acces Illimite.

 

Good for her that she is exploring and having fun. But a bit more music info would be great.

Love the shoot, I find the interview really funny (in a good way).

Sigh, I just knew people here would overreact at anything fashion related. You all act as if every single artist in the world didn't do more than one thing. Cher is an actress and singer, Barbara actress and singer, JLo actress/singer/designer, Lady Gaga singer/actress/fashion, Zendaya an actress/fashion/singer, and the list goes on and on. I only see Celine fans throwing hissy fits because she's found interests elsewhere. She's spent 30-some years focused solely on music, she might not be laser focused on it anymore but she's still going on a tour and releasing albums.

 

Guess what, not a lot of singer get to sing forever. Eventually they have to quite and no one hears from them for long periods of time or find something new.

Celine is doing things that she can enjoy if she ever has to quit singing, she won't just leave the spotlight.

 

If you don't care for any of her non-music works then simply look away. But complaining every time is so old, let us enjoy things.

 

The interviewer of a fashion magazine asking about her starting a fashion project...not surprising, and her answer was as vague as ever. Those many projects could be anything, and I'm glad she's got many offers because it means we've got plenty of Celine to come.

I don't see it as her not enjoying singing though. She's essentially saying she sings because she loves her fans, loves people, and wants to make people happy. She said something similar back in 2008/9 when she said something like she sings to make her mom proud, she tours to take her mom around the world.

 

 

Anyway, one thing less that this surprise project could be.

Don't worry about there not being songs from Courage in the setlist in the beginning. Of course it will it's Courage World Tour.
