It's the snipper that was played by the (Dutch I think) media during Eurovision though. Not the snipper from the studio which that female producer (Irene? don't remember her name) put on Instagram.

If the Dutch media played it, then it must be out there and it’s more than just a secret fan purchase. How did the media get it? And why did they play it if it’s an unreleased song?

And how do we contribute to something we don't know about ? A lot of us on this forum are not aware when a fund raise is set to get unreleased Celine tracks.

The main problem with Celine fanbase is the lack of cohesion and solidarity. There is a kind of hyerarchy between "VIP fans" who organise secrets things to get unreleased stuff and the rest of us who just come on this forum to share our passion and are not necessarily all day long on E-bay or other auction websites.

And what's the point of having unreleased songs and material and keeping it for yourself ? You will just sit on it and die with it ? This is why we have so few rare material about Celine in comparaison of other artists. Look at Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Madonna, and so on, there are a lot of demos and unreleased songs available thanks to their fanbase who are willing to share with the majority of fans. The last example that comes to mind is Taylor Swift's last album. She released zillions variants of it with exclusives songs on each variant, and the fans shared all of it for those who can't afford to buy the same album twenty times just to have all exclusive content.

And they didn't think : oh i paid for it, other fans didn't, so they don't deserve to listen to it. They just share music and passion about their fave.

I'm not attacking you personnaly, but with a mentality like yours, it's not a surprise we have so few unreleased Celine material around.

If I follow your line of reasoning, it means if I assist a Celine concert and pay 300 dollars my seat, I Won't share some videos or even the tracklist of the event with those who didn't pay and weren't there ? In my mind, the principle about belonging to a fan community, is to exchange and share the maximum about our fave artist, without a hyerarchy of die hard VIP fans and more randoms and casual fans. It's just my opinion by the way, and I'm not asking you to agree with me . It's just different perceptions and I can understand yours.

I will always be thankfull to the fans who bought and got their hands on exclusives materials over the years and were generous enough to share it with the rest of us (Brunei 97 and London 19 concerts, Would I Know, Is Nothing Sacred, Mr Paganini, Spector songs etc...)

I’ve even seen the acetate records of My Heart Will Go On and Because You Loved Me. That says it all. These are the test vinyl records that the recording studio used to send to present Céline’s songs to Sony… How is it possible that this extremely exclusive material is being put up for sale? It’s not something that can be easily obtained. It’s very, very, very—almost impossibly—hard to get one. It’s clear that whoever it is must be either someone from her team or someone who works at Sony Music and has access to this material, and it has to be very specific, because not all Sony employees can access it.

Furthermore, how is it possible that even the original cassette of Phil Spector’s demos is being sold…? This isn’t something just anyone can get. That material is supposed to be kept in a studio, under strict control, with security and inventory. Moreover, it has to be someone with access to that material, which leads me to believe that all of this comes from someone with very strong connections to Sony Music or her team.

At this point it's basically a scam to pay for this song considering it's probably already available for free (just not widely) or it's going to be released within the next few months. This means that they actually had the rights from Celine/Sony to play part of the song on their radio station.

I read your comment earlier, and I agree with everything except the idea of releasing rarities. If an artist like Céline, after five years of silence, only releases unreleased tracks or demos, it’s almost as if nothing happened. In music marketing, after such a long hiatus like Céline’s, it’s common to come back with something commercial and catchy. She’s not going to waste a headline like “Céline Dion returns to music” just to release eight or nine rarities or demos that sound almost identical to previously published songs — songs that the general audience either won’t like or will simply think, “This is more of the same.”

If those tracks were discarded back then, it was probably because they believed they didn’t work. They can’t afford to waste that kind of marketing opportunity by releasing songs that would only truly interest her core fans. The public expects something fresh, something that reaffirms her return, not leftovers from old recording sessions. Céline’s comeback needs to feel like a statement — not just a nostalgic gesture for longtime fans, but a real reintroduction to the world as an artist still capable of surprising and moving people.

I didn’t say they should market it as her comeback. I just said there may be interest because she’s been away for so long.

They don’t say it, nor do we find out, because it’s not legal. Unreleased songs are usually stored in an online cloud only for access by the musicians and Sony employees (and only those directly involved with the songs). I think whoever is behind all this is some employee who is using their credentials to access all the unreleased and exclusive material. It’s not normal for just any seller to have the original box with Spector’s demos or the video of Mr. Paganini. To get that, you need contacts. That’s why I’ve always been in favor of speaking directly to Sony Music and presenting them with the possibility of making exclusive releases for the forum. There are a lot of us! I think it might interest them.

The Spector tapes were sold at auction.

I do see the point in them buying the song (even if it’s illegal). Maybe the version being sold is the demo she recorded, and if she ever releases it, it might come out with new arrangements. It’s possible that the version some people have is just the demo, while there’s another final version that hasn’t been released yet.

It seems to me that Céline has absolutely no idea that her vault material is being sold. I say this because when she was asked about Play Me Like a Love Song, she looked genuinely surprised, as if wondering how anyone could even know about that song since she’d never mentioned it.

What strikes me as odd, though, is that if she was that shocked, how come she didn’t bring it up with her team? It’s strange that they haven’t taken any action to stop the sale of that material. I don’t know — the whole thing just sounds very strange to me.

Yes, but it doesn’t make sense to release that. The media would pick up the story, and they’d lose the chance for headlines like “Celine is back” or “Her big return,” which could bring significant financial profit.

The Spector tapes were sold at auction after Phil Spector died.

But was it auctioned by someone close to Phil Spector or someone relevant in the music industry (a boss, manager, etc.), or just an ordinary user?

I can also imagine that maybe it was just a regular Sony employee who took a song as a keepsake from the recording sessions and secretly sold it to make some money. The promo-only tracks uploaded to the multimedia section, which I added recently with TSHWL’s help, were probably obtained in a similar way (I wasn’t the creator of the files; I simply did a lot of searching on the internet to find this almost-forgotten material).

Promo-only releases are only intended for TV networks, pubs, and clubs, so someone must have taken them from the official discs sent by Sony to those venues and uploaded them to the internet, since they weren’t meant for the general public. Proof of this is that you’ll barely find it anywhere on the internet, not even on Céline’s official channels.

Something makes me think that this song was recorded in a different time than the songs on the Courage Album. Damn, she sounds amazing on this song.

The leaks continue: In this case, SIA’s demo for Céline of Lying Down.

Sia - Lying Down (Demo For Celine Dion) - YouTube

Sorry for the off-topic, but it’s to illustrate how some people must have access to artists’ private clouds.

If you read the comments, they’re being leaked through a Discord server. Maybe the same thing happened to Play Me Like a Love Song?

Who knows how much material from Céline’s vault is on Discord? Maybe there are tons of unreleased songs.

I tried to like LD, but Celine tried to sing like Sia. I hated it. She loses her artistic personality.

Here she gives her heart with the singing. And no, it's not the high pitches, she treats every single word, she mean it. She deliver the lyric with her own unique thouch. That's why I became a fan.

You're absolutely right. It seems like quite a forced song for her, but the instrumental is top-notch.

It reminds me of Phil Spector’s demos, where she gives it her all.

Also the demo of Because You Loved Me.

I don’t see this anywhere?

Glad to see some have been successfully working behind the scenes, but I do suppose that spector circle got a lot smaller lol ...Hopefully one day we'll all be blessed in hearing it. Until then, life goes on as it was 10 minutes ago before I realized this song wasn't dead and buried.
