zuv Posted October 7, 2019 at 11:13 AM Posted October 7, 2019 at 11:13 AM why didn't Sia and celine do a duet on Lying Down Sia did some background vocals on that song. Maybe theres another song with her. A duet. Who knows? Did she write like 3-4 songs? 1 Quote
Shaun Posted October 7, 2019 at 11:18 AM Posted October 7, 2019 at 11:18 AM I reckon I must be the only one wanting no duets. I’d be ecstatic with 20 original Celine only songs on this album. 5 Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

No, you're not alone. I don't want any duets either. For me, the only acceptable duet partner is JJG 3 Quote

Alice Posted October 7, 2019 at 02:34 PM Posted October 7, 2019 at 02:34 PM I'm not crazy about duets either. The only ones I really love are The prayer with Andrea Bocelli and Tell him.Overall, I feel that the other singer ruins the song for me. 2 Quote
Xpresso Posted October 7, 2019 at 02:38 PM Posted October 7, 2019 at 02:38 PM (edited) Well a few duets would help her streaming numbers, which she really needs! Why do think Madonna keeps doing duets with younger and hip artists? Ukrfan Posted October 7, 2019 at 09:31 PM Posted October 7, 2019 at 09:31 PM I think the majority of her duets are fantastic. And I think the opposite. I loved IGNL from Taking Chances, but Incredible was mediocre at best.... Tell Him and When I Fall in Love were a snooze fest for me, and IHYTILY is probably one of the worst song in Celine's repertoire I didn't like the duets on Sans Attendre, even though I liked the songs... just wish Celine had done them herself I don't care much for The Prayer and BATB, but they were successful and I do listen to the former from time to time. The best Celine's collaboration for me is Immortality  , one of my favorite song of her, but I don't think it can be considered a duet. Quote

Streaming, streaming, Baby! Well, it doesn't really work that well for Madonna. Her last duet hit was 4 minutes with Justin Timberlake over ten years ago... but that was a damn good song! If Celine were to record a duet, I woule love it to be like Dusk till Dawn (Sia ft. Zayn): Quote

I love that bridge! WIFIL, I think Clive’s voice is a beautiful complement to Celine’s. Although the lyrics for IHYTILY aren’t great, I love the vocal performance from Celine and Pavarotti. The Prayer, I prefer live. Always breathtaking. I think Sous le vent is fantastic I also don’t like any of the SA duets BATB is a classic in my book. I never skip it. Immortality is a masterpiece. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay

I mean streaming ANYTHING from the album which helps the album on the charts. Without these duets, Madonna wouldn't get as much streaming. And Celine also needs help in the streaming department as most veteran acts do. So duets can certainly help! Edited October 7, 2019 at 10:00 PM by Xpresso Quote

I love it! No I disagree by putting this synth underneath it he changed the tough song in a childish mix. No just no. And that is not a mix what he did. he just recorded some synths that match the same tempo. Not impressed. 1 Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

sfbaysinger Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:19 PM Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:19 PM Since I never got to give my two cents on this song...not that anyone wants them...I love this song. It's SO Sia! I don't care for Sia's music on her own, but she's a damn good songwriter. What happens when she gets with people like Celine and also Christina Aguilera is astounding. The words to this song are so where I'm at with someone in my life right now. And every time the line, you can't take this from me, comes on, I relive my first few days/weeks after losing my sight and how I wish this song and that line had been around then cuz that's still how I feel. I am also extremely thrilled that all Sia did was background vocals for that song. Sia can sing but I wouldn't want this song to be a duet. I briefly have to revisit the duets discussion you all had on here the last few days. Most of her duets I skip, even Beauty and the Beast, recorded and live sorry to say. The Prayer, and Overjoyed, which no one has mentioned yet but not all that surprised, people expect me to like both Stevie and Andrea since they're blind and so am I but that ain't a good enough reason to like a singer. Tell Him, I loved when it first came out but now I skip it cuz also it was the big song me and my former duet partner sang so I can't listen to it anymore without getting sad. I have never ever ever cared for I hate you then I love you. I also didn't like the SA duets. For me, most of the time, with the exception of JJG, the other singer tends to dampen the duet for me. I liked Incredible live, but I always skip it recorded. My favorite of her duets, I'm gonna utterly butcher the spelling on this so please forgive me if you speak French, is les dernieres serant les premieres. No one has mentioned that one yet and I love it live and recorded. I was also soooooo over I'm Your Angel, but especially with recent R. Kelly events...anyway...there's probably a whole thread for the duets discussion...but I love love LOVE Lying Down! I am thrilled she's doing it live. 3 Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! Alice Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:24 PM Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:24 PM This is a great song! I loved it since I heard the chorus on Carpool Karaoke and loved it even more when I heard the whole song. You can hear that she's smiling when she is singing " And I've just enough left to help me pack my bags" 2 Quote
sfbaysinger Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:41 PM Posted October 14, 2019 at 04:41 PM I noticed that, too but always wondered why. She has no reason to need to pack her bags. That line almost reminds me of a This Time vibe. In fact this whole song kinda does. It's almost a This Time 2.0 for me, like the more evolved, courageous stance to take on a similar situation. And me, too. The first time I heard the chorus on Carpool Karaokee I was intrigued and dying to hear the song then. Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!
ryba Posted October 15, 2019 at 11:25 AM Posted October 15, 2019 at 11:25 AM (edited) Is it just me, or do you guys also notice the difference in the background vocals when you compare the Carpool version with the final album version. The background vocals were changed, no? Edited October 15, 2019 at 11:33 AM by ryba Quote

The background vocals were changed, no? Im thinking that the song used in CPK was Sias demo, would make sense if the final mixing etc wasn’t finished Quote
