I kinda think perhaps FOMO might not make the album, she’s still choosing songs after all, and that’s why they’ve done things this way, she maybe thought better just release it as we already got the snippet of it during the World Tour promo video.

 

I’ve gotta say I actually love it (but would’ve preferred studio version)!!! Cannot wait to bounce to this at Hyde Park and know my outfit now ie FOMO t shirt lol

Haha they use a different dress than what she wore during the live performance it's supposed to represent. Not the first time they do this. At least this time it's a dress that she wore from the actual concert - compared to the TCWT cover and the TCOML concert cover.

But we get how they work by now. So sad we didn't get a live album of the 2017 London Concert.... Now THAT would had been something and actually quite different from her previous live albums. This Vegas setlist adds NOTHING to her discography. NOTHING.

 

Oh God I hope this doesn't mean they will release an live album from this crappy Vegas setlist.

It seems to be a theme for this new era. First the tour "art" now this. Maybe it's a way of connecting to the fans... "this could be made by you".

It may just be me, but I would prefer the album be called Flying on my own . I like it better than Courage.

 

Not just you, I’ve said this as well. “Courage” isn’t a terrible name for a album/tour but it doesn’t have the power that “Flying On My Own” has.

Being that this is the first English album and tour since René passed “Flying On My Own” would have been so fitting and powerful; “Courage” works but with a little less OUMMMPH if that makes sense?

I don't care if the song will chart, if it will be Itunes Number 1 or Number 541, if it's going to have a great music video.

 

I simply love it. I simply love the fact that she did such a cool song, that feels like an energy blast.

 

The strings are awesome. The bridge is like the best, most fantastic bridge she has had since "Reveal".

 

It also has that "Fade Away" feel for me.

 

I already know this song is going to stay one of my favourites of hers.

Glad they released this as a live-on-stage performance, rather than a studio version.

 

First, it's a good, non-committal way to test the market, which is important seeing as how different this is to what she normally does, and how much of a risk it would be to go out there with a full-fledged "single" and promo spend, only to find out too late if it's not being well received. Good way to collect data.

 

Second, because the live version is just a better piece of music than the clip they used in the tour promo, and you can see her joy in performing it, which makes for good marketing if they actually are trying to shift perception of her sound. As in - "no, this is me loving this and wanting to do it, not a record exec pushing it down my throat".

 

So a smart move, IMO.

 

Curious that they apparently left some of her talking on the track though (I wouldn't know first hand, didn't download; though perhaps it was intentional, as is often the case in live recordings where between-song patter is part of the package).

 

I wonder how many press outlets will pick up on it, seeing as it's Sunday. So far it seems mostly the French ones have.

Super good production! This is what got me pumped about this song. I pray for the studio version to sound like this. And why isn't it out!!! This version is what should reach the masses, indeed.

 

The one we got is a bit old fashioned at parts. They could have easily released SFL (02 version) or Reveal now after all this time and they'd had greater chances at making hits.

I have a love-hate relationship to that dress. Not sure what to think about it besides it looks like it's made up by tons of sharp objects. Always scared Céline will cut herself on it.

Colosseum is now exclusive with Live Nation, and I'd be surprised if she didn't stay with AEG, so she'll probably end up in a different venue.

 

But I don't want to thing about that now! She's newly released from the Vegas contract and is finally free to do shows she couldn't for a long time. Let's enjoy that while we can.

I like the song. I'm not a fan of music videos created from footage of live performances.

 

And I doubt we will be getting much more with regards to this single.

 

I might be wrong but I don't think Celine is interested in having a massive hit. That sounds silly now that I've written it down - I'm sure she would be overjoyed if she was part of another classic. I just don't think this is the one.

 

When I say she is not interested, I mean she would enjoy it if it happened naturally, but I really don't think she is interested in the endless TV appearances and promotional performances that this kind of thing would necessitate. I know this isn't the 90s and so much of the promotional side of things can be done via social media, but to some extent TV appearances and interviews go hand in hand with the release of a new single and I don't think that interests her at this point.

 

As for music videos, other than Ashes (filmed in her theatre) when was her last real music video? Somebody has already pointed out that, aside from IACBTMN, her catalogue of videos is not really inspiring. I could watch Call The Man/Je sais pas a hundred times a day but I don't really care for any video post 2003. I feel like making a video for a song has always been an afterthought, or a necessary inconvenience when it comes to Celine. I know Incredible was filmed 'on location' but I feel for the most part her videos are filmed against a green screen backstage at the Colosseum and require minimal input/time. I've always felt she is good enough to rely on the voice/music for singles to sell so everything else is just a matter of procedure. As such (and I could be very wrong) I just don't think we will be getting a real video.

 

Perhaps this is something of a teaser, and we might get something bigger in terms of production (and promotion) closer to album release time!

I for one was quite happy seeing they released a live video and the song right after it was premiered. We complained back in 2013 that they waited too long to give us LMBTL, so I give them credit for doing this. The song's already been added to my gym playlist!
