wjd Posted April 13, 2019 at 10:21 AM Posted April 13, 2019 at 10:21 AM They werent consecutive one was in June and One was in August, but I do hope you realise the actual venue (the floor section) on June 25th was made smaller to ensure a sell out due to the change of venue, 02 also had a bigger capacity second time as did Birmingham... It happens with everyone ya know This is something we'll have to agree to disagree on. Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
Dion2000 Posted April 13, 2019 at 10:22 AM Posted April 13, 2019 at 10:22 AM This is something we'll have to agree to disagree on. Dude, they were two months apart. They very obviously reduced the capacity because the Leeds tickets for the 25th only went out on sale a WEEK before the concert, hence the bigger capacity for the second date Quote

Frenchie Posted April 13, 2019 at 01:02 PM Posted April 13, 2019 at 01:02 PM After seeing these numbers, I wonder if she could do another leg through North America at the end of tour? Cause that is *really* impressive! With this sort of demand, I think she could if she wanted to. Wonder if they will try and outdo Madonna’s best solo tour ever title with these sort of numbers. Just got back from Record Store Day here in USA, could she not do something for that next year? Release like Alternative mix of the album or a 7” of a couple singles or even a picture LP. These are just ideas.... Quote

She could just do the top 10 cities in the USA again. Looks like she is going to try and pace herself while doing this leg. I guess the rest of the tour will look something like this. Quote
Popular Post scielle Posted April 13, 2019 at 01:42 PM Popular Post Posted April 13, 2019 at 01:42 PM Thanks for compiling the sales data. It's quite incredible how, far from killing her career, Vegas instead made her reputation as a one-of-a-kind performer and cemented her legend status. People really want to see her. And I think she could easily sell twice as many shows, if not more. There are lots of people out there - judging by social media commentary I've seen, so admittedly anecdotal - who are newly curious about her and interested in seeing her live, even though they're not the kind of ardent fan that would spend hundreds of $ per ticket. These shows, as it is now, will be full with people who care enough to be on top of 1st day ticket sales and willing to spend big $$ on her - but there are lots more who would go if it were more accessible because they're newly "Celine curious"! She has really crossed onto many people's "bucket list" in these last few years - many now feel she's someone they need to see live at least once even if they've never been huge fans. 16 Quote

Her popularity outside US increased significantly the last few years. I truly believe that her change of look made her more appealing (it is one factor among many others). Quote

ordinary fan Posted April 13, 2019 at 08:39 PM Posted April 13, 2019 at 08:39 PM (edited) South Africa had no schedule change, it didnt sell out (only one date did) Australia she was ill and had poor attendance, Asia had okay attendance but she didnt sell out either Tokyo dome date or either Kaula Lumpur or Shanghai Europe was rocky, didnt sell out Amsterdam, didnt even sell out Paris and Antwerp and she never fails to sell them out usuallybut i think her esteem and status have increased a lot the last few years (like it was said already before). I´m sure she will sell much more tickets with this tour on places where she was with the TC tour. But I think they should be a bit more careful this time, considering the capacity of venues in some places in the world and amount of cities in certain countries. Like in south america, some venues had a capacity of more than 45.000 people and they even added a second date (Pretoria) or in germany six dates...as much as I want her to play in my country, I would say one date in berlin, munich, frankfurt and cologne is enough. That straddles germany good. Gosh I really hope that she will come to munich with this tour Edited April 13, 2019 at 08:40 PM by ordinary fan 4 Quote
isurrender Posted April 13, 2019 at 08:40 PM Posted April 13, 2019 at 08:40 PM (edited) But still when not being sold out is unsuccessful? You don't have to be 100 % full to be considered as good. Especially with those prices! It was already insane in 2008... I will never have sympathy whatsoever even if she does 50% of the capacity. That's on them. She could sell out anything with regular prices. There are a lot of people left out because of this. It's not a matter of popularity but no way a random person (not a pure fan or rich people) would pay 250 euros or dollars to see a show. It' s a shame. Period. When we talk about the success or the failure of a Céline's concert/tour, there's IMO no other subject to talk about than the prices. And it goes the same with the insane box office she grosses : nothing to be proud of! Sorry. I'm more impressed by an artist who can fill a stadium with cheaper tickets/box office than a 18.000 attendance show grossing millions. Edited April 13, 2019 at 08:41 PM by isurrender 5 Quote

Critiaslux Posted April 13, 2019 at 08:52 PM Posted April 13, 2019 at 08:52 PM True, however taking chances in areas outside the US did have rather unsatisfying boxscore data Celine was not as hype back then as she has been since 2016. 2 Quote
emi&celine Posted April 13, 2019 at 09:04 PM Posted April 13, 2019 at 09:04 PM Celine was not as hype back then as she has been since 2016. Yes you’re right...I would say the period between 2005-2010 was not her best popularity wise. Now we can see people have really missed her all over the world. 1 Quote
Angel2006 Posted April 13, 2019 at 09:24 PM Posted April 13, 2019 at 09:24 PM I was just looking on Ticketmaster to see if prices for Celine's tour have gone down at all and I don't know if I'm the only one who finds the Ticketmaster verified ticket resales hard to understand? It says the price for each ticket in the resale, but then it seems confusing to me, because it is reserved seating and it doesn't really tell you whether or not the price is x the amount of tickets you choose, or a total cost of what is shown before you buy? There are also certain verified resale seating that has a bunch of tickets reserved and it highlights all of them when you go to choose a seat. I find that confusing as well, because I don't know what I would be purchasing in the end and I wouldn't want to end up with a bunch of tickets that I don't need. How does that work? I would ideally like to purchase 2 tickets, so I chose the 2 seat option but there is only one overall price shown in the list of options on the right of my computer screen with the fees and taxes, but I don't know if that's the overall cost for the 2 seats. Do I have to x that amount shown by 2 to know the overall cost of my 2 seat verified ticket resale purchase? Very confusing. Quote
