I really don’t get why so many people hate that “Shadow of Love” arrangement. I loved it. It was one of my highlights from the show, not just the song but the arrangement as well. I thought it worked so well on tour.

 

In my opinion it's because the song actually has a nice climax but in live version she talks so much and dodges thru it that there really is no climax.

I think the advertising is paying off. I was worried about the last Barclays Center show but it will also be almost sold out. It's impressive the number of shows she is doing in the NY area!

Yes I agree, when they announced the show it was a surprise and then it wasnt selling great but when I looked at the beginning of the week it looked pretty good but the Thursday show was priced less, so that helped.

 

I was hoping to move my seats up for the 2 Newark shows this weekend but everything in front of me is sold out, so maybe they sold a lot of those overpriced packages afterall.

I didn't see her on any TV shows here. I guess she was just enjoying her free time in NYC.

Seems like her new way of promo is making these bold statements with fashion.

And it's working brilliantly in this age of social media.

She is more relevant today than she's been in a long time.

She's getting wayyyy more attention doing this than going on The View.

I'm loving how, as the years go by, Celine's legacy has grown from one of the greatest singers / performers of all time to someone who represents ultimate self expression / being yourself no matter what.

 

She is iconic in so many ways.

She had great energy and mood last night.

 

Someone dressed in her iconic 2017 Titanic performance gown and another in the 2019 met gala. So many Celine cosplayers in NY lol

 

she says if people don't want to use their seats she'll take them out and lower the prices next time lol.

I agree! However, I think she has the potential to take much more advantage of her current cache and persona....but maybe the distance and lack of one-on-one engagement (as in via Twitter or IG) makes her more mysterious and thus more interesting to people.

A lack of interviews certainly makes her more mysterious these days. And I definitely think this is intentional.

 

She’s been there / done that with old school promo. She’s done enough interviews. She’s trying new approaches now. :) And it’s working beautifully.

For her to do that, after 3 months, with very little international promotion, in the streaming era, 30 years into her English career is phenomenal, especially when even today’s biggest stars like Billie Eilish or Taylor are barely cracking 1.5 million pure albums after far longer with far more current popularity

Maybe, but I would still love her to do more “old school promo” which I simply find more interesting and exciting. You can never have too much promotion.

I agree with you in terms of it’s a decent result for Celine this far into her career but to suggest TeamCeline and Sony will be happy with the albums performance I think is wrong. They’ve been trying and trying and trying to get people to stream it but it just ain’t happening. She’s got the unwanted record now for biggest fall from number 1 in the USA. You reckon that’s what they were aiming for? The result they wanted when they released the album? A 3 week chart run?

I think Sony had a pretty good idea of what would happen just by comparing chart results from the last Madonna and Mariah albums. So this didn't come as a surprise to them I'm sure. The biggest fall from #1? Who cares really. It just happened that Courage was released during the holiday season when all old (and new) Xmas albums go back up the charts. Courage has sold close to 600k and I doubt Sony expected a lot more than that. I think they wanted a #1 album and they got it. :D Edited by Xpresso

Has anyone bought the Tshirts they sell outside the venue after the show? They are so much cheaper than inside, they look the same. I bought a Courage Tshirt inside at a show and it's not the best quality and it was very expensive for a Tshirt.
