I love that Celine many times is the one to ask, if they would like a picture!! Shows how humble she is.

 

Also, fuel to the fire; interesting he says “jazz” tune… maybe Celine is in a “jazz” mood from some possible studio session. WINK WINK, NOD NOD . :hmm:

And that she definitely doesn't care just one bit on how the lighting will be, when they take that picture. :wub:

Now a days it’s typical I think… they also look so much more middle eastern like Rene’s Lebanese and Syrian decent!

 

Renè got his wish for a boy to take care of Celine when he was gone I think x3.

I vaguely remember Celine saying somewhere (one of the biographies?) that one of the things that made her fall in love with Rene was seeing him interact with his mom.

Also… this person on X claims that Celine was at a museum today… no indication as to where or what city it was in though….

I mean… I wouldn’t read too much into that statement. We know when she breaks into song or air guitar it could be any random thing.

 

That said, if this was indeed a direction she was heading, NYC and Boston are clearly the places to be. NYC is the heart of the jazz scene, and Boston is where the best jazz school (and faculty/ session musicians) are.

 

And perhaps that’s why the twins are there with her! 🤭 Remember this interview from 2021?

My theory (with no real evidence, mind you), is she's recording.

Maybe she's slowly making her way to Montreal to spend Easter with the fam (when's the last she was in Quebec - during COVID lockdowns?). Maybe she'll hop over to Halifax for the weekend to present at the Junos (as if... she hasn't shown up in 25 years...). She has surprised us in recent months so who knows.

I almost volunteered for Sunday’s Juno show but a last minute life event made that impossible. I’ll be wild if she shows up and I am not there. Haha

And don't criticise me. She can do a jazz album at some point but now she needs something big and positive for a comeback. She needs to sound like Celine Dion not someone else. It's as if she had come back with Miracle instead of ANDHC in 2002🙄

Please God she can't return after such a long break with a jazz album

 

And don't criticise me. She can do a jazz album at some point but now she needs something big and positive for a comeback. She needs to sound like Celine Dion not someone else. It's as if she had come back with Miracle instead of ANDHC in 2002

If she releases a jazz album, I will be devastated. I wouldn't even be interested to be honest. It's not my cup of tea at all and I hope she hever goes this direction. If she returns and invests her time and energy for promo after all these years of being away, then I hope that it will be for the sake of her very own strong signature sound, grand power ballads, strong belts, great arrangements and not some jazz album.

She doesn't *need* to do anything. We don't even know if she's still able to "sound like Céline Dion" (whatever that even means).

The fact that we're seriously considering the possibility of a new release feels like a miracle in itself. I can't believe some are preemptively complaining about the hypothetical genre or the hypothetical use of 'bedroom voice' as if the last 4 years didn't even happen.

It’s not a miracle, it’s rather real. We know that a French album has been in works. Moreover, she is still able to „sound like Celine Dion“ as she proved on songs like Ashes. It’s all a matter of the right producers

Exactly. Not so long ago we didn’t even know whether she’d even be able to go out in public without setting off a startle response and spasm attack. Seeing her enjoy life with her boys is such a relief, and if she’s able to record again, perform again, return to her work in some way - well, it would all be a bonus.

 

If she releases a jazz album, I will be devastated.

And I would be thrilled but I’m not going to go there because we know nothing and I think we’ve all seen in these last week or two just how quickly theorizing and filling the info gap can go off the rails.

Speaking of that, should we expect at least a brand new album in french maybe next year? Sometimes I hope that the documentary it'll come with that, but who knows. But I am sure that she still sounds amazing with something that suits her well, just look at Love Again (the song).

I disagree, we didn’t see her for the majority of that time and now she is out and about, she is just living her life. What is she supposed to do? Walk around with a zimmer frame and wear all black?

Brian Mulroney, former Canadian Prime Minister (1984-93) has died.

Here he is with Celine around that time.

His wife, Mila, was a patron of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, along with Celine. His son, Ben, is an entertainment journalist who has interviewed Celine many times. I believe she also participated in various fundraisers they organized over the years.

The state funeral for Brian Mulroney was held in Montreal's Notre Dame Basilica today.

The pianist for the ceremony was none other than Scott Price.

Of course not, because she doesn’t need to. As far as we can tell from the outside, just from the way she presents herself to us, Céline is in perfect shape. That’s the way she wants to portray herself, hence why she doesn’t want the documentary to show her looking “diminished”. She wants us to see that she’s still the same Céline — i.e. as if the last 4 years didn’t happen.

 

For clarification, I wasn’t saying that Céline should act differently. Not at all! I couldn’t be happier with the way she has approached this. What I meant was that, if Céline wants us to have this image of her, it is not entirely inappropriate for us fans to go with it and treat her as such, the way we did before.

I get you! It’s a fine line isn’t it; because she’s out and about and looks fine, we want her to be doing everything we know Celine for; but the frustrating thing is we don’t know what to expect from her voice now.

First time I remember as well. Do we know why their relationship soured?

I don’t necessarily know that it has but she hasn’t shown up in 25 years and it’s hard to just chalk that up to “scheduling conflicts”. She was certainly offered a Hall of Fame induction, but an artist needs to accept for that to happen, so clearly she hasn’t (yet?)

I don’t know… it sure is odd.

She was never really accepted in English Canada so maybe there’s some unease associated with that.

Definitely a first time.

But isn't is also a first time that the Junos acknowledge Celine after so many years?

 

But didn't you also thought she would maybe appear this weekend, or something along those lines.

Since she was on the road the last weeks?

 

TC making a post about the Junos makes you wonder if something is cooking.

They definitely made some effort because that video was posted 3 years ago.
