I see you point. What I find interesting is that despite what Celine says she still went for Then you look at me (unfortunately the movie flopped) and didn’t stop with the soundracks after Titanic

 

True but Pearl Harbour was being billed as the next blockbuster film wasn’t it! BM wasn’t really in that same category lol. Or maybe she’d already accepted TYLAM before rejecting TYB!

I've wanted to buy Celine Une Seule Fois blu-ray for some time but haven't made up my mind. Is this a good concert? I'm interested mostly because she sings many of her French songs which I have not listened to.

Is this a good blu-ray to own?

 

Also, what other DVD's would be good purchases as a fan? I already have Celine: Through the eyes of the world on blu-ray.

Turning down Pearl Harbour was the best decision after the bigger-than-life Titanic. Would have been too much... and people were getting tired of hearing MHWGO everywhere. Very smart decision, probably made by René!

Au coeur du stade is also nice for the mix between French and some English songs.

Agree Live à Paris is the BEST!! I think that concert made me the super super super fan I am today. Before that I was a big fan but not crazy as I am not lol.

 

First saw it in 1998 I think and when she sang Ziggy, I knew I had to experience that moment with Céline and finally that happened in 2017.

 

And the beginning when she sings J'attendais :wub: oh and so many more moments.

the first I could only find in Region 2 DVD which won't work in the US.

Au coeur du Stade I found at really good prices but they all come from South Korea which means it'll take longer to arrive but that's fine.

 

I found a DVD Celine Sur les Plaines, was this shot during her world tour? It says it's 3 hours long, is that the concert? Or is this like a documentary type dvd?

 

Sidenote: I really like Celine's deeper, more mature sounding voice.

Sur les Plaines is a concert celebrating Quebec's 400th anniversary. Celine is the main singer/ host for the concert, but there's also many other Quebec artists that perform at the concert (both solo and duets with Celine).

Both the Olympia and LAP concerts have songs cut on the CD, such a shame. :down:

The other night I was watching the movie," Like Father" with Kirsten Bell and Kelsey Grammer. Seth Rogen was in the film as well and sang IACBTMN in a karaoke contest. I wasn't expecting that but I suppose he was supporting a fellow Canadian :-D The movie wasn't very good,imo.

Yes. It's one of my fave photoshoots of her. The black and white and the play with the light emphazises her beauty terrificly ....

Well if we go through them all :

 

 

Live A Paris - Greatest in terms of available DVD vocals, but personally i find L’Olympia to have better vocals howwver UNFORTUNATELY its CD only.

 

Live In Memphis - Great with minimal editing however set list isnt the best

 

Au coeur du stade - Great mix of anglo/ franco songs however does have some editing, minimal in some areas. But obvious in others

 

AND - The DVD - great set list (imo) minimal editing but the biggest lipped set list in terms of volume of lipped content. However is the most theatrical

 

 

TCWT The Concert - Awful, ruined it. So heavily autotuned i cringe when i hear its name. If you want a TC DVD, by Le Spectacle instead, however they also did stupid editing with that like editing out the great ad libs she did on this tour in Je Sais Pas

 

 

Une Seule Fois - great set list with lots of live performances of Sans Attendre tracks and great rare songs too. However she wasnt in very good vocal condition here and big editing is present

 

 

 

 

Imo, i would go with Either A new day or Une Seule Fois

And yes, Céline has the most stupid team when picking the worst and most impersonal, flat performances of her songs to be put on DVD instead of the most magical and clearly outstanding ones :pinch: :pinch: :pinch: If they are going to edit a concert with songs from different shows and days, do it in the best way and pick the best performances!!! :doh:

Not to mention she did so many amazing ad libs in loads of songs English and french. To name a few : The Show Must Go On,Dans un autre monde,je sais pas,im alive,shadow of love,All by myself all have had great ad libs removed

Well I have watched the VHS a million times but the DVD not so much. Didn't realize the difference

:lmao: well the DVD is the same as the VHS, but the CD is missing L'Amour Existe Encore, Misled, Love Can Move Mountains, Calling You and Le blues du businessman.

 

Or did you think the VHS was different from the DVD and I got it wrong!? :mdr: :lol:

Yeah we were talking about the cd, just didn't mention that in the comment since I was replying to Davey and he said DVD. But yeah I'm not that familiar to the CD since I just create playlists from it, like for the Paris shows last year :) The only song I'm really missing from the vhs/dvd is Calling you

It’s on Olympic though, it’s not that much different. Whereas I find the LBDB performance amazing on LAP compared to Olympia.

I think I actually played LAP more than D'Eux in my time as a fan. I just love the live energy of the songs! :dance:

 

But I'm more an audio than a visio guy anyway! I would have been happy enough if last 2 tours were only released on CD :down:
