Moee Posted April 23, 2010 at 08:20 PM Posted April 23, 2010 at 08:20 PM I understand what you mean though, so don't get me wrong. I think you should be careful about the terminology. She is a role model for a whole lot of people. Her determination, her drive for success, her dedication and loyalty to family, her love of life, her sense of humor, etc are all qualities we should look to and try to model, but we are all different and so should adjust what she does that fits her and her needs to how we live our lives (if that makes sense). You only set yourselves up for disappointment when you idolize a human being. Ok, do you really mean that you don't idolize her? Because this paragraph that I quoted proves that you look up to Celine as somekind of Messiah.I like Celine because of her talent ONLY. She can do whatever she wants in life; and when she'll completely stop her career; well, I will move on with my life; I'm not starstruck by her image. If I have to look up to somebody, well I have my religion that teaches me what should I do and what shouldn't I do and to whom should I look up to. Celine does not RULE my world; she's just one of my many passions in life. Celine's image is more of innocence and faithfulness; religion goes a step further for a FULL guidance on life in the dark side of it and white side of it. Finally, she's no vigin mary or other female icons of any religion; she's just a woman who got a hand over her career and succeeded in keeping her marriage alive in a troublesome-show-business life; that's about it. Many other people have similar lifes as Celine in Hollywood but they do not over-talk their lives on tv shows and don't sell their wedding book for people to see. When people say I should look up to her; how can I look up to her? She's living NOW the dream that most people don't have; she's just an impossible dream. If she acts like she acts it's because she has wealth/money/security/love at her right hand; you basically cannot compare yourself or even mimic what she has unless you live in her wealth/experience/family/etc... Every person lives a distinct life in a distinct family and has his religion to guide him in the right way; Celine has her own life/family/wealth so she lives in the category that was reserved for her.
angelil78 Posted April 23, 2010 at 08:20 PM Posted April 23, 2010 at 08:20 PM I don't know. I just heard that it hurts like crap, so I don't have the guts to get one. I'll pass out before the even put the thing through the skin. I thought about it a bit today and I think I do have a theory about why she might not have one. Celine has to change costumes and stuff very fast between songs during shows, a belly ring might make things difficult because you have to be very careful with it. It can easy get caught on clothes and stuff and get ripped out. Imagine if she was in the middle of changing and it gets ripped out... outch! It actually happened to my mom's sister. Hers got ripped out and she had to get stitches. If it happens during a show, they might have a big problem, because they will have to stop the show to get Celine sorted and I bet it hurts like crap. My mom sister said that it hurted so bad and she couldn't lie down for weeks after that. So I guess it is just not practical for Celine to have one. I think that that is the same reason why you rarely see her with earrings during a tour. During the TC tour she only had earrings in for the last song. I have never seen her with a belly chain. Is there pictures of that? Yeah I think you are right about the costume changes and the earings and other rings She just mentioned the chain in an interview and she said she never took it off but that was YEARS ago.. I haven't seen a pic

I haven't seen a pic I don't think Celine is the type of person that would go for something like that. Besides, where will they put it through? It is not like she has a lot of skin in that area... We seriously have to stop this, we turn every topic into an R-rated discussion. I want to see a picture of her with the belly chain. Claudette Posted April 23, 2010 at 09:19 PM Posted April 23, 2010 at 09:19 PM Me too. The forum is kind of dead lately, except for the few annoying discussions about playback and autotuning still going on in the DVD and some other topics... http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af51/ClaudetteRobinson/esme.jpg

fan2celinedion Posted April 24, 2010 at 08:38 AM Posted April 24, 2010 at 08:38 AM Love can love mountains! But singing with Celine is not a good idea if you want to shine! I rather sing with people who can't sing like Whitney or Mariah

Jacqui Posted April 24, 2010 at 09:14 AM Posted April 24, 2010 at 09:14 AM I've never understood how people can think that "idolizing" a celebrity like Celine has anything to do with someone's religious beliefs?? E.g. Celine- Follow her career, appreciate her as an artist, admire certain personality traits she has, definitely love her as a human being, but she is a human being. God- Believe he created the world, all powerful, involves worship and prayer, etc etc. It's just not the same at all. And yes, I have to like an artist as a person or I wouldn't be a fan. Talent alone is not enough for me to give my time and energy to someone.
Celine Fan 77 Posted April 24, 2010 at 09:28 AM Posted April 24, 2010 at 09:28 AM Probably Then you look at me, Can't fight the feelin' and When the wrong one loves you right. dorfus Posted April 24, 2010 at 09:42 AM Posted April 24, 2010 at 09:42 AM Now, here's my question. I have no idea if it's been asked before, but oh well. And I'm probably asking the obvious, but still. About Celine's upcoming Vegas residency. What is it called? Is it actually called 'Celine' or is that just a temporary name on all the adverts et cetera? 6 May 2008 - London, England / 15 May 2019 - Las Vegas, USA / 3 June 2023 - Nicosia, Cyprus
