Hey everyone, our local dj has started his own internet radio station from his basement. He is extremely popular here.

He is simulcast from all over so anyone can listen/call in. You can also become a fan on facebook. It's brand spankin new I mean like yesterday. He will wants everyones opinions/suggestions. I say that we all flood facebook and or call in & request CELINE in rotation since radio stations don't like to play her. We need to show our CELINE love & support. Why didn't Celine perform her LTAL world tour in Brunei? Did she turned down the Sultan's offer?

 

I think the Sultan still loved Celine and agreed to pay more. But, the problem was that the number of LTAL concerts were less than the FIY tour.

I was wondering if anyone knows when is Barnev's birthday? I saw someone made a post saying today(Tuesday) is his birthday... Is that true?

Any idea how old he would be?

Why didn't Celine perform her LTAL world tour in Brunei? Did she turned down the Sultan's offer?

 

I think the Sultan still loved Celine and agreed to pay more. But, the problem was that the number of LTAL concerts were less than the FIY tour.

 

Don't forget Rene fought cancer during the LTAL tour. Maybe that's why the tour was shorter than previous ones.

the Titanic soundtrack version is the first real demo she recorded. the one on LTAL is a totally new recording.

I think they needed to rerecord the song, in order to make the final production for a 'real' album, not a soundtrack, sound better plus the original demo is a bit too slow and too long for LTAL imo

 

 

and about IDAN/ANDHC and TTWII, I think ANDHC was bigger then TTWII and TTWII was bigger then IDAN, at least here in Holland (europe)

 

But the alt. version is in a different key....

At her concerts, when she is on the screen and stuff, obviously there are cameras taking video of her to put on there. When she looks like she is looking right at you on the screen, how does she know where to look because everything is so dark??? I couldn't see the cameras shooting her on the catwalks or anything. Also, there are cameras in the middle of the stage opposite of the catwalks, but because of seating they have to be much farther away. How does she know where to look?

She looks at the same direction in every concert because it is a rule. All of her gestures are set by her team.

 

For instance, she first appears and faces drum/percussion side. And then spends most of her time in the concert on the Mego side.

 

What's more, the side of the catwalk for 'The Power of Love', 'Because You Loved Me' and 'Im Alive' are all choosen by her team so that everything is under control. When performing in a concert, one can't do what one wants. Instead, one must follow the rule that makes every concert unique.

how do you mean? the original demo was recorded just as a demo, céline also drank coffee before recording it. maybe the LTAL version is in a key which is easier for her to sing?

Yeah, well maybe if Rene hadn't become ill the tour would have been extended. Like the FIY tour was. Or maybe its because she played a lot of stadiums etc (harder to fill). I don't remember hearing about the Sultan asking her to perform for a second time?? What happened then???

Anyway, I don't know if this was already mentioned or not, but I find it funny that on the cover of My Love they airbrushed out the buttons on Celine's blouse. Inside the booklet there's the larger, un-cropped picture with buttons.

The tour ended in November. And this meant she only had 8 weeks to fully promote ATW before her break, and she travelled all over the US and Europe in that short time. Anyway, I think the FIY tour had so many dates mainly because she received big hits with BYLM, ABM etc and they really wanted to capitalise on this success so they were willing to go all over the place and visit countries where she was now a star. She performed more than once in a lot of the cities they visited and it was mostly smaller audiences in arenas. So I think when the LTAL tour came along, they stuck to more of a standard tour circuit that a lot of performers take and didn't venture out to all the places they had just been a year or so before. Plus don't forget the shortened European leg featured stadiums and mostly only one performance per country (other than UK and France), compared to many performances per country on the FIY tour.

yeah but keep in mind that there was a second european leg in Europe! she first performed here 2 nights in Rotterdam in a medium stage, then in 1997 she performed in the biggest arena here in Amsterdam.

 

We never know how it would have gone if René didn't got ill. Maybe they would have added more dates, or a second leg and Céline took time off in 2001 instead of 2000, but that's just erm what's the expression? LOL

Hmm sometimes i wonder. or it seems that Celine MADE it the concert favorite. I mean cmon Celine, there is a long pause after the first line of the song , well of course they are gonna call out to get attention not so much that they are loving the song as Celine says.

and just a little comment now that we're talking about tours. It says there that on the premier of the tour in Boston in august 98 Rene gathered everyone one day before the show and told them: WE HAVE NO SHOW

Well, ''My Love'' isn't my favorite moment in the concert but it's definitely Celine's fav moment.

 

Not for me, personnally it's surely one of my fav moment of Céline's Taking chances show and I know I'm not the only one. The fact that she begins acapella is one reason I guess, you can feel the beauty of her voice filling the venue and it made me feel kind of closer to her at that time which is very special and touching to me. Also it gives us a glimpse of how wonderful it would be if Céline did an acoustic show, no electric instruments, no big sound, no nothing except the depth of her soul coming through her magnificient angel voice. In the middle of this big show(which is great don't get me wrong for more reason than this one only) I feel it's a nice quiet moment between Céline and the audience where we can feel more connected with her personal feelings...and with her as the human being and woman we love.

 

Anyway that's how I feel about it and I know that we are many feeling this way because I've talked with friends who've seen her show who feel the same about this song and the way she performs it. The audience is screaming sometimes or you can hear a pin drop in some venues depending on how most people there express how they receive this. I'm a quiet one who savours every sounds coming out of Céline's heart at that moment. I really think it's a fav moment for Céline and for most people who've seen the show.

 

About Céline's band playing on her recordings, we know they did play once on the ABM song and Céline said they were very excited about it. Am I wrong to think that there are studio musicians who does this profesionnally only and that most producers use those guys mostly, rarely the singer's band? I'm not familiar with how those things work...

Also I guess most singers don't have the same band for years like Céline does anyways.

no. i initially thought that the full shot inside the booklet is also the front cover, but they're actually different pictures.

 

take a look at the inside photo. you will notice Celine's teeth there, while it's not visible in the front cover.

 

also her hands. on the inside photo, you will notice that her 1 hand is touching the focusing mount (correct me if i'm using a wrong term) of the camera, while on the front cover, both her hands are holding the body of the camera. :thumbsup2:

Yes, but there is no answer why LTAL dates are less despite the fact that MHWGO is much more popular than BYLM, IACBTMN.

 

Rene and Celine would have made much more money if Celine had given more dates. MHWGO is a bomb!!!
