Has any edition of this festival been aired on TV?

 

I know Carole King's 2016 BST concert was filmed and released in 2017 !

i guess some others too!

What are you expecting from her? 90% of her repertoire is love ballads. I just hope you are not too disappointed.

 

Ballads can be boring or exciting. The difference is whether they keep the audience interested. I doubt millennials who go to a festival want to hear BYLM :sick:

 

Celine has many catchy songs that fit festivals... Loved Me Back to Life, Somebody Loves Somebody, Eyes on Me, Fade Away, When the Wrong One Loves You Right, etc.

 

Ballads are not bad. They just have to be modern and/or uptempo.

 

I hope Celine understands it and there will be no acoustic medley :wtf: and Beauty and the Beast :pinch:

Okay, she'd better be performig A New Day Has Come in all its full and glorious RADIO REMIX version this time. No more neglection to this song in London, which was probably her last planetary hit!

 

And I'd love to see her performing some songs of the One Heart album, like Faith, In His Touch, Stand By Your Side, I Know What Love Is, or even One Heart! :wub:

 

And the English version of Je t'aime encore... is that much to ask?? :unsure:

 

And Sorry For Love remix, When The Wrong One Loves You Right in a dance medley near the end of the show would be great too...

I think you can seat down in the golden area (which is a plus having in mind I would not standing up 6 hours listening to others singers that I could not care at all :giggle: )

 

May I ask, for those Celine's fans who are living around London, to keep in touch ?? it would be lovely to catch up sometime .

As much as I'd love her to perform these songs, a one off festival performed in front of 50 000+ people is not the place to be doing deep album tracks. She still has quite a few uptempo hits (enough to fill at least half of the setlist) without doing very obscure songs. And I strongly disagree that she should ditch ballads. Could you imagine thousands and thousands of people singing All by myself shining the phones and swaying during the night? It would be magical. Obviously we don't want it to be a snooze fest, but I'd imagine people would be more bored of an uptempo song they have never heard, rather than power ballads (Which she is known for)

Everytime you say "Its a FESTIVAL" you make it sound like its a carnival! Yeah ok its a festival and its supposed to have more dance and uptempo songs but Celine isn't known for that type of music. She has some good ones that the general public knows but imagine thousands of ppl coming to watch her sing and then listen to songs they never heard before.. How boring would it be for anyone here if they went to a concert of a singer they kinda like (and are not fans of him) and then listen for like 1 hour songs they dont know.. Im sure she will perform her dance songs but she will do her ballads as well. Lets see the last leg of the LV shows. Maybe she will rehearse something there like last year.

When I said deep album cuts I meant songs like ten days, fade away ect. Taking chances & LMBTL would be a good fit imo, they were moderate hits in the uk. She can still do a few more ballads that you didnt mention, IACBTMN, I surrender, TSMGO would be show stoppers

I think the people paying lots of money to Celine know they won't get an Beyonce-like show.

So there will be a fair amount of her ballads.

And yes I do hope more uptempo hits. But we know the team...

So there was no way I was going to make one of the greatest popstars of all-time wait, hence my little visit to Paris this weekend, where she is taking Paris Fashion Week by storm.

IT IS A FESTIVAL but one that Celine Dion the ‘Queen of Ballads’ is headlining. Meaning the people who chose to go see her are people/fans who want to see HER and hear her hits...ie big ballads.

 

For anyone else who wants to hear rock/indie music etc there are plenty other festivals they can attend.

 

The fact that she’s apparently personally invited Claire Richards to support her after hearing a few tracks from her new album, tells me all I need to know about the type of day this will be and the clientele that they’re trying to attract and it’s not your regular festival goers, that’s for sure.

 

I think the fact that she was even approached to headline a huge festival of this nature is only testament to how highly she’s thought of now, as apposed to the 90’s when it was technically not cool to like her, and I for one couldn’t be more proud as a fan!!

You're missing one point : IT'S A CELINE DION SHOW IN A FESTIVAL

 

It's not a rave. Its not a free festival. It's not a Beyonce show. People are paying the BIG price for it. You think a non-fan or young people that dont like Celine Dion style will go? Well its a big NO. It's only a Celine Dion show during a festival for rich people. Jamaica jazz festival? Does she sang a uptempo setlist& no. Does she sang a jazz setlist? No..She sang the Vegas show setlist. When she did the St-jean sur richelieu show she sang songs like If you asked me to and nothing broken but my heart and guess what IT WAS A FREE FESTIVAL. You really thing she's gonna sing 85% of uptempo songs? hahaha what a big joke! She will never do that because she is Celine Dion and Celine Dion is known for her love ballads and people are paying for that! Not a dance show!

A big price? Lmfao. The top ticket here is like £200 less than her london concert. Its not “for rich people” and no, not only old people with money will be attending. Hate to break it to you but 75% of those at the 2017 tour were under 35, so theres that.

 

And yes her ballads are big but youre all missing the point its a festival. Dolly parton is a country slow song star, she did like 3 slow songs at glastonbury mainly uptempo. BYLM,TPOL,TCOML,IYA etc dont work.

 

Certain “ballads” do, The reason,Think twice, only one road, the show must go on, its all coming back to me now, all by myself.

 

Theyve got an edge to them, a better vibe than BYLM. If she does TLYM and BYLM shell get back reviews like madonna for being old and not understanding how festivals work

I would love a DVD release of a festival concert with a totally different setlist, more young, fresh and light.

 

It would love her to start the show with the ANDHC version of Sorry for Love! :) imagine an extended intro of that song with an awesome light show! Damn that would be good!!

She could split it into segments

 

A rave-ish section ala sorry for love

 

A mid temp section ala ANDHC RR

 

a rock ballad section ala TT

 

and a rock dance section ala Fade Away and TC
