If Céline ever acts in a movie...

I have faith that if there is a new Deadpool movie, she is invited to participate, I think it will be her only chance, it would be a good Marvel movie.

She says she would do good with drama, but if Céline ever acts in a movie again, she would be a great great comedian :giggle: This video has been one of her most comical speeches I've seen so far

I'm with whoever said art or jewel thief :msn-wink:

That, or a cameo in GLOW.

So much shoulder pad and sequined outfit potential! I can just picture the extraness! :giggle:

And especially fitting now that the show is moving to Vegas!

GLOW. I like that idea. Good one.

Well, her outfit from the Katy concert would have fit right in! 😉

How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

I would love to see Céline act in a very Québécois movie. I think she would sink into a character that share her roots, her language and her culture, and it would be realistic. I've always pictured Céline having a main role in a Xavier Dolan movie. À la Mommy, you know?

When I saw the movie and Anne Dorval (which is an amazing woman and actress) I said to myself, how cool would it have been if Céline did this role. Lol I have this fantasy of Céline smoking and swearing in French Canadian :sofunny: Don't throw tomatoes at me for saying that hehehe

Completely agree on ever front.

If she acts, I hope it's in French. And even better if it's a Quebecois project.

I seriously believe she could do a great job.

I watched Ralph Wrecks the Internet tonight and it made me think Celine should do voice-over in a movie. Maybe for Frozen 2? Idk, or in one of Pixar's future movies.

I think she would do really well since she's used to emoting through her voice when she sings.

I agree about Celine acting in French movies. It doesn't have to be just in Hollywood that she acts.

I see Eurovision is trending worldwide. Which reminds me of -

Maybe she'll have a cameo in that upcoming Will Ferrell Eurovision movie for Netflix ;) :giggle:

Has anyone seen any updates lately on this? Was announced mid-2018 and Netflix tends to have pretty quick turn-around on things.

There's no recent news since June so maybe they don't have a final script yet, and they won't start casting until they have that done.

His wife is Swedish and made him a fan of Eurovision so I actually wouldn't be surprised if he did approach Celine for this. Or maybe Netflix suggest Celine to him.

Interesting; I didn't know about the Swedish connection.

Anyway, I don't have an actual expectation of any real Celine involvement here (at least I hope not - I think his material is awful!), but it would be admittedly weird if they didn't address one of the two biggest success stories to come out of that competition in whatever film they end up making!

Yeah, his style of comedy isn't something I can see Celine doing, and I'm not sure I want to see her try (even though I have liked some of his past movies).

Also, not the best first movie role for her imo lol.

But I do think they should mention her since she's the biggest singer to be a part of Eurovision.

Has anyone ever seen The Visit? It's one of my favorite Ingrid Bergman movies and I think Celine would be great in a remake of this.

It's based off of a German play by the same title but the film changed the ending.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Visit_(play)

The role even covers her love of fashion. I don't think anyone could pull off a tiara for a formal dinner like Celine.

I'm going to preface this by saying this is complete conjecture, and probably a bad case of confirmation bias.

But, humor me for a minute.

1) A while back, some French tabloid said Celine had been contacted by Damien Chazelle (writer director of La La Land and the brilliant Whiplash; both super successful music-focused films). I obviously dismissed it because, well, French tabloid.

2) Then, in Feb, Netflix posted this (and we know they've been posting about Celine a lot lately):

3) I just came across some casting notices for a music-focused Damien Chazelle project filming shortly in Paris, so I looked into it.

4) Turns out he's co-producing and co-directing "The Eddy" for Netflix, a series which Variety, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter, etc. describe as a show that would "explore the relationship between the American and French-Arab co-owners of a jazz club [...], revolving around a club, its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them."

In an interview, Chazelle said "The Eddy is about a jazz club run by an expat with a motley crew of locals and foreigners who all gather there. It follows their daily life in and out of the club – a bit of an ensemble piece."

It's to be shot in French, English & Arabic.

:hmm:

This is what the kids call "a reach" :giggle: and I'm probably finding patterns where I want to see them (again, hello confirmation bias! LOL).

But hey, if she were to do an acting project, this feels kinda perfect!

I wish, but if she were attached there'd at least be some rumours.

Perhaps, even if she's not a main, she could have at least a small role in this as her larger scale acting debut.

Well, it's an ensemble piece, so relatively low risk / good entry point, and from what I've seen, only one potential cast member has been rumored in mid-Feb (https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/tahar-rahim-negotiations-star-damien-chazelle-netflix-the-eddy-1203135668/)

But again. I'm totally spitballing here.
