Come on Javito, the last real music video was 10 years ago with TC, it was the last time Sony invested in a video. Nowadays they gave us lyric videos, because big budget videos are not important anymore like in the 80s or 90s when MTV /VH1 were big and the music industry had a boom.

Are you kidding me??? Big or low budget, but music videos have never been more important and essential than TODAY!!!

 

Just take a look at what's most watched in Youtube and what everybody shares in social networks when they want to share music, and that's videoclips of songs! Or look what every TV and audiovisual media uses to promote a new song today. What do they show? Surprise! The videoclip! Whether you are on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, wherever... they advert the song with the music video if it's one available.

 

Omg, I can't even believe we have to restate this in 2018, after all the oblivion her music has suffered precisely for not having any videos to share anywhere to show the music

And filming videos today is not even a question of money and big productions: anyone with a decent mobile phone can film today pretty decent videos and create something that can end up being even better than many pro videos. +

 

When there's the will to do something, there are actions done, but when there's absolutely no will -like in this case-, nothing happens on none of both sides involved

Record companies (and management team) have the responsibility of having artists do music videos, it shouldn't fall on them to do it or have to plan it. Especially someone of the stature of Celine.

she starred in a 4 episode series when she was 23, she's acted, so technically she is an actress, not to mention the music videos where she "acts" in love or heartbroken. And then there's that musical sketch show she did as a teen. Is she a seasoned actress, no, but she's not some talentless nobody like you make her seem. I am sure any director would want to have Celine in their movie, even in a supporting role.

Exactly, at this point she has zero creativity and does not even care how a music video comes out. She shows up on time, does her part and goes home. Same for her Las Vegas concerts. That's just about sums up her life.

I highly doubt she's got a long list of people knocking on her door with acting offers....

It's hard out there for professional actresses over 30 (30!), much less a singer over 50, sadly.

Yes, I think she did a darn fine job with Des fleurs sur la neige, but very few people in the film business saw that, and her acting since has been, well... less then stellar (see: virtually every music video...)

 

Now, I do think she's capable, but would need a really strong and outspoken director to keep her OTT tendencies at bay; someone who's not intimidated to really direct her.

Something like the Callas biopic, for instance, would be a very difficult place to start (and I say that having read the script).

That being said, I do think she could be a gem in a well-chosen supporting role, if properly handled and directed. Ideally in French. Hope it does happen.

 

Maybe she'll have a cameo in that upcoming Will Ferrell Eurovision movie for Netflix

It'd be fun to see her do a cameo in the Will Ferrell movie. I agree about Celine starting small.

I said as well before that roles at this stage of her career aren't just going to fall into her lap. If/when she decides to act chances are it'll be in a supporting role, after that (or after a few supporting roles) she might snag a lead. Whatever role will have to be chosen carefully.

Pretty sure Celine would ask any director to treat her as he/she would a regular actress and hopefully they wouldn't be shy to do as they have to.

 

Perhaps if this rumor of a Netflix documentary turns out to be true she might have an in to do some acting there.

I agree that its pretty weak. Im not sure if its the same writers. Seems like great writers are replaced with cheaper writers. Hopefully they step up to the plate in season 7.
