Celine has to get a mention with all the recent hype and as I got Graham to play Ashes on his show last Saturday morning, so he’s more than aware.

People shouldn't get such a high expectations, it is extremely difficult for veterans artists to have hits nowadays. Not even iTunes is so important anymore but only streaming and airplay and Celine is not strong in neither of them. But this doesn't mean that Celine is less relevant, on the contrary, just the fact they thought of her for Deadpool is a proof of how big her name is. Ashes has already exceeded my expectations, I honestly never thought Celine would reach top 10 in iTunes in USA anymore, or have a video with 17M views in a week or such a hype around it. And I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for her health problems she would be promoting much more, she performed Recovering on tv knowing that song would go nowhere so I'm sure she would do it now with the potential of Ashes. Still hoping (and praying) for the BMA confirmation.

We simply don't know her current health situation. While she appears to be fine last month, it's still no guarantee that she's able to sing at the moment or that she's feeling completely fine. I believe that if she was able to perform/sing/promote at this point, she would have (while Sony sucks at promoting her, they couldn't let this opportunity go to waste), but we've heard nothing, so there probably are good reasons..

Agree with you. She might be physically (excl. voice and ear) and mentally fine but we have no clue how her voice and ear is. And we probably won't find out until few days before may 22nd.

Agreed - none of us know what's REALLY going on...as frustrating as that is.

Yeah, seeing her high on iTunes, doing good on YouTube and not charting is really sad. Streaming is not her era. If you're not streamed on Spotify, you don't have a hit

Dont forget LMBTL had an albums worth of self promo and she promoted it alot more

The way how they made those charts its just so lame.

 

Songs should also be pushed by labels to the radios again.

 

The most horrible lack of quality ballads get on the radio just because it is sung by Ed Sheeran, or an I dont know who.

 

For me the way Ashes did, the reaction of people, it's obvious that they crave for quality music with pure vocals.

 

But some peepz in suits, and radiodj's just have a strong opinion which I think you should not have when you play music for the world.

 

Anyway, she did good, I am proud, it makes me proud to be fan.

 

But I definitely blame Sony for lack of action. And I hope that they see it's obvious that you need a good video.

 

Whether she feels good or not, a little prework could have been done by Sony.

 

Maybe they surprise us. But I dont think we should expect something amazing when she releases her album.

I don't think this success has changed their mindset.

Does anyone have the graphics from other places? this way they put those graphics, the rules have changed, I found that on youtube also counted.

She is doing so well, in sales, in visualizations, she is being successful, even though she is not entering the charts, who cares, she is winning and winning.

 

I look at the viral top of Spotify, céline is in it in Global and in several countries, the best placement is No. 9 in Canada, France, USA and UK it is falling, it may be an effect by the lack of promotion of the music , and it's not just her, Cristina Aguilera is also falling, despite being a better position in Spotify, I think it's the only place she is better.

 

The movie premieres next week, let's see if there is any effect, and let's remember that this is new for Céline, the old masi fans do not use Spotify.

Don’t forget it was played a lot on radio 2, she did promo, it was the albums title track, and it had a physical cd release. Charting even just 4 years ago was so different to now. We’ll have to see if the film release will help it, and if radios help promote it.

Just saw the first advert for Deadpool 2. Sadly they used All Out Of Love by Air Supply (which is on the soundtrack obviously) and not Ashes 😡
