"Ashes" - from Deadpool 2 - Official Topic

I have a hard time imagining a bunch of bros watching “Ashes” over and over again if they aren’t closeted gay men. It’s a viral video though, so who knows. Maybe they did enjoy watching a Ryan Reynolds double dance around in heels.

Have you seen the Deadpool movies? It’s totally a Deadpool thing to do. Him loving Celine is another classic Deadpool move. She’s the unironic ironic choice to have as the singer of his theme song.

Who do you want Céline to be in marvel? :)

Celine performing in a Marvel movie / series would actually be a brilliant idea.

I just watched WandaVision and Celine would fit in beautifully.

Now you know you’re clueless, when you go and delete a huge viewed video, especially when views = money.

What a joke of a team, I could do a better job they wouldn’t have to even pay me: as a hobby.

It's not a smart idea indeed but those views were counted already. It's the new views that are worth money. So deleting an old video doesn't really remove what has already been calculated and paid for.

But a video with many views has bigger chances being seen by more people which means more views again in the end and more mo9ney for them

Well the remastered IACBTMN video has over 42M so I doubt it would make a big difference.

They didn't even have to do anything. They just had to NOT do something lol.

So, apparently, 3 years ago, I shared Ryan Reynold's Instagram post which was the music video for Ashes. This morning, randomly, I got a notice that BMI had blocked it worldwide for copyright reasons. ??????

I randomly came across this show on HBO last night called "We're Here", which is billed as "an unscripted series that follows small-town residents as they're recruited and trained to participate in a one-night only drag performance".

One of the participants opened his performance with Ashes, and truly, it hit me how much this song has become a modern Celine classic.

It was a more moving show than what I expected from the tagline - very much about empowerment and helping people be their true selves. If anyone's interested, the episode in question was season 2, episode 2 - Temecula, California.

Indeed! Even though it is "losing" steams against her older classics recently:

On Youtube:

- overall it is her 9th most viewed video

- but based on yesterday views, it is the 11th

On Spotify:

- overall it is her 5th most streamed songs

- but based on current streams, it is the 9th

Definitely her biggest English song (in terms of lasting impact) since IDAN (cautiously as we are comparing apples and pears here), or the ANDHC area, even though it did not chart on Billboard Hot100 due to lack of airplay (it stopped in Bubbling Under; but good it reached number 1 spot on Dance Club chart though).

If it had been better pushed by Sony at the time of the release (interviews / live at different shows), I suspect it could have even charted in the lower part of Billboard Hot100.

I’m very thankful Celine has another widely known English song with Ashes. I hope we get another one soon.

I’m also happy to see that The Power of Love & Ashes are about to hit 100 million streams on Spotify. Then Beauty and the Beast!

Now Celine needs to treat it the same as her older classics and give it a permanent place in her shows, maybe ashes is the last "hit song" who becomes a classic.

I can’t believe Ashes, IDAN, and ANDHC weren’t in the CWT setlist. Those are her three most recent hits, aside from I’m Alive, and she doesn’t sing them in front of an audience that hasn’t seen her on tour in over 10 years?!? It blows my mind…

On the Céline page on Spotify, you get the 10 most listened tracks by her, and you find Ashes at 9th, even though the grand total is 5th.

But I do not know if this is a daily, weekly or monthly list.
