Kara didn't write or produce "Always be Your Girl"

 

She had a part in "One Heart", "Surprise Surprise", "Taking Chances". Which I like all of those waaaaaay better than ABYG.

Hello everybody! I'm new here, I'm from Ukraine and has been fan of Celine since 2003.

Relating to this topic, one ukrainian radio station recently started playing Ashes, which is really surprising coz that's House-Transe radio. Never would've expected to hear Celine played on that radio station. Sadly it's not an original song they play, but a remix by Steve Aoki, not the best one out there in my opinion, but it's better than nothing, right?)

Up until this point, I've been switching stations in hope to hear Ashes, but had no luck. Heard only her old songs which, unlike Western countries, not forgotten in Ukraine and being played every day this list includes: Power of love, A new day has come, I'm Alive(remix), All by myself, My heart will go on( radio and soundtrack versions), Because you loved me, Parler Mon Pere, Je sais pas(heard only once)

Dua Lipa is played like crazy, she even surpasses Adele in radio coverage. So irritating! Her "One Kiss" is complete *hit, and extremely overestimated..

always great to know she is still popular in other parts of the world. And they play french songs, even if Parler à mon pèèèère is far to be my favorite.

I had tweeted her months ago asking if she was involved months on the new album and she responded, saying that she had sent a few newly written songs to Celine and hopes but wasn’t sure if Celine choose them. Like I said that was months ago, probably like 10 months ago. So we’ll see.

I’m fine if Celine never works with Kara again. Kara didn’t have the stars in her eyes when it came to our Queen. And some of Kara’s lyrics are pretty bad and cheesy.

 

However, I appreciated how Kara would push Celine to get the best take possible.

 

Some producers don’t push Celine enough to get perfect recordings.

 

Ona sure note: who produced Ashes? Who produced How does a moment last forever? And who produced bewitched bothered and bewildered?

 

I’m curious who is in the room / responsible for the final takes of these songs??

Alan Menken is known to be hard to satisfy... Honestly, even if "How Does A Moment Last Forever" is less current and radio friendly than "Ashes", I think it perfectly fit its own movie ("Beauty and the Beast"). And it's a lovely song. The lyrics are touching. 😍

 

The only thing missing for that song was a REAL music video... 😏

We must be thankful to Céline.

 

After René's passing she delivered 2 amazing songs: Ashes and HDAMLF, both of them having a real impact in her repertoire

 

(sorry not a fan of Recovering LOL)

HDAMLF is anything but a gem in my opinion. It's boring beyond boredom and it has a very odd climax which never takes the song to that next level! At least Recovering is personal to Celine and she improved the song on stage, the live version is better than studio which is rare for Céline in 2018.

Lol I never listen to HDAMLF but I love Recovering 😄 absolute highlight of the tour last year for me. And the chorus sums up bereavement, which I know only too well. As you said, Celine kept improving the song when performing it live.

....and for me the "Ohohohoh..." after "Shake off the devil" is so full of pain and emotion....It made me almost cry for a long time...especially her performance on the Stand up 2 cancer gala :(
