1) her prices are extremely high and its not a particularly high income area

 

2) shes not THAT famous there, shes famous but Mariah and Whitney were bigger than her

 

3) There isnt a big market there

Well like someone said here above, she hasn't sold a lot in Portugal so why would she go there? But for the fans there, I hope she does

 

we've been told she sold 1 million albums over there. For a country of 10 millions ppl it's good.

 

And for other countries she is not that huge, she still can go. She doesn't need to perform in big venues.

I know they're fake. I only posted them because someone asked for them. And talking about markets, I have to disagree. Many people tend to think that artists don't come to South America because of low sales or popularity, but it's not true. I live in Argentina and even though album sales aren't really good (an album that sells 20k is a big success), people go to concerts A LOT. And Celine is very popular here, and still sells a lot of albums (again, according to the country standards).

Many huge artists come every year to sold out stadiums and arenas, even Mariah was about to came in 2016 to an almost sold out arena (15-17k seats), but then she cancelled, and many not so well known artists also come and handle to sell out the venues. So, if Celine came I'm sure many people will go. As I said, people go to concerts a lot. And the same happens in other countries in South America.

I know, it can be that way. I'm not an expert on music industry in my country, I was only talking about what I see that happens. As I said, a lot of artists come to Argentina, and even though sometimes tje tickets are very expensive for us, people pay them. So that was what I was talking about. If Celine came, I'm sure it would be to a sold out arena, because people do care for her here and would pay to see her. But of course, you're right, there are many things involved. What I was trying to point out is that if others can do it, why doesn't her?

I know, it can be that way. I'm not an expert on music industry in my country, I was only talking about what I see that happens. 3 stars.... wow they dont have good standards. Apparently her outfits were lame, BYLM and IACBTMN had no feeling and were just showing off and the show was just a show with no feeling...... and apparently the best part was the string medley

 

Not a surprise. Considering that so many people would laugh if you ever admit that you listen to Celine Dion, let alone being a fan of hers. She is as uncool as can be in most people’s eyes here. The so called “elite” Sydney Morning Herald is full of that prejudice! Yet everyone in Sydney loves to brag about how they enjoy seeing Diana Krall (I love her music and have seen her live, too but I have a very diverse taste in music.) It’s like people are too afraid of being judged. Yet people come out of the woodwork to fill the arena to the point where there were hardly any spare seats and the ticket prices were much higher than those of Madonna’s.

 

Just to elaborate my point further... Last night on the train home I overheard people making fun of each other for having recorded the “cheesy songs” (lol there were more people filming at both the shows in Sydney than any other show I’d ever been to.) Since the train was a special service communtig people straight from the venue, most passengers went quiet but then one lady exclaimed look we all must be fans if we went to the show! Especially since there was too much bagging going on.

Was just about to post it. I must admit I laughed so hard there were tears rolling hahahahahaha.

 

Oh for lord's sake ok You're the Voice is a great song and she did it well but it wasn't the song that made the show like the review suggested. Unless you're talking about the bunch of reluctant husbands/partners accompanying their wives to the show. There were too many of them sitting quietly not even making a sound just filming or holding their partners' hands and all that jazz. Mind you sitting 7th row from stage right in the middle in front of Celine, I could see and hear the three blokes behind me making fun of her saying "Jezz when is that Titanic song going to come up? We came here only for that song!!"I could tell they sat together while their wives sat together. Those guys of course loved You're The Voice and got enthusiastic over it. But dudes!!! I don't give a crap how rich you guys are, you freaking paid $650 for each of your tickets. Enjoy the show for goodness's sake.

i hate this attitude. Last year the people in front of me were often going in and out of their row to buy beer and snacks during the performances and when she started phones went up high above their heads without keeping them still. It was a sea of uncontrolled smartphones. Next time i want my seat in front of the centte of the stage but no side anymore in front of a big screen and still.pay the same price..

What a great great show. As many have said before, nothing on YouTube does it justice.

 

The setlist flowed beautifully and apart from the standing ovation for TPOL, the most amazing moments of the night were IACBTMN (we had goosebumps - a flawless delivery) BATB got a big cheer, and the heartbreaking back to back combo of Recovering and ABM were total highlights.

 

YTV was excellent. Everyone on their feet and singing along. Perfect inclusion.

 

Feedback from my friends who are casual fans - they loved her, even got teary in some parts (a lot of emotion in some songs) but they don’t at all get the LCMM/RDMH combo. IDAN would have been a lot better because everyone knows it.

 

Encore was perfection.
