Tyler1991 Posted October 12, 2018 at 05:09 PM Posted October 12, 2018 at 05:09 PM How does it TASTe? Lmfao. Sound is wonderful. Very nice. Just my own observation but it seems as this years reissues as well as the last batch are all a bit loud with surface noise on initial play. Ssd, ltal i noticed as well as tast (Cant remember on the others). This is not something that tends to persist after a few plays. Sometimes newer vinyls are made of such higher quality leading to more static. I will say tast feels more like 140g and i thought the others were made on 180g. By surface noise i mean in between songs ornthe very start you can hear slight noise. The sleeves are very nice with lyrics on them. I always take the records out of those in my own separate anto static sleeves. Nice booklet as well. On the third song now side 1. Ill take pics in a moment. 2 Quote

Jeanette Posted October 12, 2018 at 06:25 PM Posted October 12, 2018 at 06:25 PM My FIY vinyl came today from Amazon too but I had no idea TAST was available for pre-order so haven’t got that one yet and just had a look on Amazon UK where there’s only one left apparently and the price is £29!! The pre-order for FIY was £17.88 or something like that. Why is this one so much more expensive, I wonder?! Quote
Peppercorn1991 Posted October 12, 2018 at 06:55 PM Posted October 12, 2018 at 06:55 PM (edited) I’ve been itching to buy these new vinyls but with moving house, I’m yet to buy. Jealous of you guys! Still not got LTAL!!! I will have them soon enough! Kev x Edited October 12, 2018 at 06:56 PM by Peppercorn1991 2 Quote

Those are GREAT quality pictures and the printing quality of the photos and artwork seems to me very decent at last (I can even notice Céline's eyelashes with high detail in your picture lol). I can't wait to order my copy of this title! Classic Céline Dion album Thanks for taking the time to share pictures with us! 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Javito Posted October 13, 2018 at 10:52 AM Posted October 13, 2018 at 10:52 AM (edited) Is the sound quality much better on vinyl? I don't get it, makes no sense to me, its the oldest thing ever... Some times the "oldest" things are the original and the best ones It's not about the vinyl being an "older" format than the CD, it's about the process of making it and the source of music. Vinyl sound comes straight from the master recording and the vinyl material through the needle and doesn't suffer a process of digitalisation, which CDs does and hence they lose some quality through this conversion into digital sound. Vinyl's sound is analog and because of this digitalisation process on CDs, the purity of sound is better on vinyls than on CDs. Of course, take this on a brand new/well-cared vinyl record. But if you take good care of a vinyl, they can provide many years of pristine and rich sound. Edited October 13, 2018 at 10:54 AM by Javito 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Black Kitten Posted October 13, 2018 at 09:18 PM Posted October 13, 2018 at 09:18 PM I don't mind the absence of Natural Woman in the vinyl reissue of FIY. The song basically was just a bonus cut on the international versions of FIY, and it was not recorded specifically for the album. It was recorded for a Carole King tribute album the year prior. What annoys me is the exclusion of Your Light. Or was it also recorded for another project? It's such a great song with a topnotch production and it would've made the FIY vinyl experience more "complete." I see that they use the US track list for both FIY and LTAL. But wouldn't it be a worthwhile vinyl reissue if they include the songs especially recorded for these albums? 1 Quote

Tyler1991 Posted October 13, 2018 at 09:32 PM Posted October 13, 2018 at 09:32 PM DP2 Soundtrack was also released on vinyl. I got it. Nice to have ashes on vinyl but it kinda sounded like with the compilation of 12 random songs it was just a digital to vinyl rushed release. Ill take another listen but i wasn't particularly impressed. However, i think it may have been an urbanoutfitters exclusive vinyl and often those can retain and build value due to the nature of their limited releases. Quote

The static was audible when I tried sticking my hand to take it out. As pretty as the paper sleeves are, I really wish record companies would have the common sense to provide sleeves that better preserve the vinyl quality. 1 Quote http://i.imgur.com/dQ1vYVz.jpgMais qui peut dire, qu’il peut vivre sans amour, qui?
Tyler1991 Posted October 14, 2018 at 03:28 AM Posted October 14, 2018 at 03:28 AM So onto the next...how soon will TCOML be available for pre-order? Quote
Tyler1991 Posted October 14, 2018 at 04:47 PM Posted October 14, 2018 at 04:47 PM Also, to someone who owns both FIY pressings, i would appreciate a short synopsis on the sound comparison between the two. I'm pretty eager for TCOML simply because i already own it and want to see how it sounds. Technically since they are pressing it onto two records that should increase the volume (longer records play quieter) and with more depth and space for the needle to play, who knows quality also?? In all honesty, i would be surprised if the sound could be improved much. Pretty great already on the older ones. I noticed the reissue label "we are vinyl" is a sony company so perhaps the reason we have generally had a great sound in deux/tast/ltal is because they obtained masters, perhaps analog from the recording sessions. 1 Quote

However, because the TCOML vinyl is going to be a colored vinyl, the audio quality is probably not going to be as good. Colored/ picture vinyls often have much more surface noise than regular black records. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dQ1vYVz.jpgMais qui peut dire, qu’il peut vivre sans amour, qui?
